My answers:
1. My favorite kind of music is classic rock. I  like country too, but so many songs are depressing. And I love all Christmas music.
2. I don’t believe much of what I read in the paper and see on the news. I try to avoid both.
3. My ideal day is a day spent with my kitties and loved ones ( hubby, mom, niece and her family).
4. Don’t let lack of funds stop you from enjoying life. All the best things in life are free.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for Dr. Seuss Day. We have decided to have another giveaway to celebrate.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Brody is thankful to everyone who wished him a Happy Gotcha Day yesterday.

Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on this photo prompt:

In Sunday School we are taught gambling is a sin
so many rules, it makes one’s head spin.
I am a little confused though,
why do so many churches host Bingo?

My poem is meant to be funny. I have nothing against Bingo even though I have never played. Actually, I have played the Bingo at baby showers where you fill in the spots with gifts you think the mom will open.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

2. I don’t believe ___________________.

3. My ideal day _________.
4. Don’t let _________ stop you from _________.

Happy 3rd Gotcha Day Brody!

I am actually a few days late in celebrating Brody’s Gotcha Day. Thank you to Pipo’s Petcretary for this beautiful card ( and reminding me of his special day).

Here is a link to his first post and second post. I was helping an older couple about a mile away to TNR ferals in their yard. Turns out he wasn’t really feral, probably a stray.  It took a while, but now he is a proper house cat and even has a friend in Trouble. And KaTwo even  protects him when Sammy tries to fight with him.

Penny’s Tips Volume 35

Hi everyone!Did you miss me last week when mom bumped my post for a Chewy review?

I am hiding in this tunnel because mom said she wants to start pinching pennies. Can you believe it? She even found a website with tips on how to pinch them! It is called The Prudent Penny Pincher. It is similar to the other website I told you about. Mom is all excited because she found a bunch of Grinch themed recipes on there. And lots of decorating ideas. She claims she won’t pinch me, but I am not taking my chances.

How To Make a Catnip Mat

Happy Monday everyone! We are hopping with  Create with Joy’s Inspire Me Monday and To Grandma’s House DIY Linky party both are great places to display your creativity. If you are looking for some crafts and recipes be sure to check these out. We are also joining Comedy Plus’ Awww..Mondays

First off, I will tell you how to make a catnip mat if you have a sewing machine ( you could also sew it by hand if you want).

You will need 1/2 yard of fabric, 1/4 yard of quilt batting, catnip and velcro.

Fold the 1/2 yd of fabric inside out.

then place the batting on top

Place the fabric/batting under the needle with the folded part at the top. Stitch down one long end, turn and stitch the short end, turn again and sew the other long end-stop when you have about 2 inches left to sew.

This is where I stopped. Then flip the fabric back through the 2 inch spot you left open so you can see the correct side of the fabric.

Add catnip ( the more, the better). Now glue the velcro into the 2 inch space. Now you can refill as needed.

If you can’t sew, you can buy this magic Heat “N Bond stuff at any craft store ( even at Walmart).

You will open the 1/2 yd. fabric with the good side on the bottom. Roll out a piece of this Bonding stuff on the bottom of 1/4 yd.

Place the batting on top of the piece

Place under piece of bonding stuff on top of the batting and fold the fabric on top. Then you iron the fabric which melts the bonding tape into place. Do this on all 3 sides, leaving 2 inches to add catnip and velcro.

The only trouble with this way is the edges won’t be smooth, but I doubt your kitty will mind. Let me know if you have any questions.

Emmy is tired from promoting the giveaway last week.

Inspire Me Monday

Sunday Selfies

Before we get started, we have more condolences. Our friend Marg of Marg’s Animals had to say goodbye to her beautiful girl Split. To visit, click here.

We are joining The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop.

Joanie is enjoying her new friend Nellie. She babysits Gremmie and is willing to wear the hideous sweater I crocheted.

And the winner of the Dr. Seuss Giveaway is Katie Isabella! We can’t wait to see you in the hat.  🙂

Be sure to stop by tomorrow to learn hoe to make your own mat- and I will tell you a secret way that requires no sewing if you don’t have a sewing machine.

Caturday Saturday

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and The Pet Parade.

Emmy wants to remind everyone of our Dr. Seuss giveaway so I used Lunapic to turn her into a cartoon. I also made a puzzle- it took me 18 minutes and 18 seconds. I am sure you can beat that.

To enter the giveaway, be sure to leave a comment on the Thankful Thursday post. Winner will be announced Sunday. You have until 9PM ( EST) Saturday to enter.

Someone asked if I could give instructions on making a catnip mat. I am going to do a post about it on Monday.

My answers:

  1. I believe cats are the best creatures on Earth.
  2. I need to go Marie Kondo on my clothes. I have way too many, sadly, a lot don’t fit, but I am an optimist and hope to fit in them someday.
  3. 3. It does no good to worry about things we have no control over. That is easier said than done though.
  4. I find crocheting cat toys to be a walk in the park. I don’t even need the pattern for most of them now.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.
And, this week we are joining, Pet Photo Fails which was started by Roby Sweet of The Cuddlywumps Chronicles. I am glad  Melissa and Miss Mudpie continue this in her memory.

You reap what you sow,
if it is grass, you’ll have to mow.
Wait until after the last freeze
to plant your peas.
And if you want your greens,
plant spinach and beans.
now the most important we must address
it to be sure to plant seeds of kindness.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

Wordless Wednesday

Before we get started, we want to give our condolences to The Island Cats on the loss of sweet Wally.  To visit, click here.

I recently discovered that with Comcast, I can put youtube videos for cats on the tv screen.

My cats love this one- funny thing, my hubby was mesmerized by it too. There are a bunch of squirrels, including a black one and a white one too.

This one is Trouble’s favorite, but she gets too rough with the tv.
