Penny’s Tips Volume 59

Hi everyone! I have a money saving tip for you. Do you take a lot of photos? My mom sure does. She made an album of Millie photos and one of Prancie. Dad and I like to look at Millie’s photo book together.

The trouble is storing all the photos online. It can cost a lot of money per month for cloud storage. My mom has thousands of photos stored online for FREE. Hers are at Walgreens, but you can store them wherever you can order prints from like Walmart, CVS, Snapfish, etc. All you have to do is order prints once a year and they let you store all your photos on their site. Mom’s photos go back to 2009. How do you store your photos?

Penny’s Tips Volume 58

Hi everyone! I have my best tip yet for you today. I actually didn’t come up with this one, but I am happy to spread the word.

PennyFix is a petition started in the USA.  The idea is that every can of cat food would cost one little cent extra and all that money would go to spay/neuter programs. I think everyone can afford that extra penny and it will do so much good. To read more about it and/or to sign the petition, click here.

And here is my special New Year’s Eve gown. Mom got it on clearance at Petsmart for $3.75. One can still look gorgeous on a budget.

The top is black velvet and the skirt is white with sequins and a gold bow. This is a small and it fits perfectly.

Penny’s Tips Volume 56

Hi everyone! I am back with more money saving tips for the holiday season. Do you like my dress?

My tip today is to remind you all about groupon, there is even a UK version.  You can find all kinds of gifts at discount prices on there. There are gift certificates for local restaurants and entertainment from movies, bowling, golfing, etc. You could also get someone a day at the spa or one of those salt caves. If you have an idea for a gift, please check here- I bet you will get it at a discount

There are also a lot of reduced price photo gift ideas. Everyone loves personalized gifts with photos of their loved ones on them. See you next week.

Thank you all for the purrs and prayers for my brother, Millie.

Penny’s Tips Volume 55

Hi everyone! I am back with more money saving holiday tips for you.

Once again I am forced to dress the part.

I need to give a shout out to Rene at It’s All About the Cats for reminding me of Retail Me Not. It is a great website to get coupon codes for pretty much anything.Mom downloaded two other sites into her computer that automatically search for codes every time she buys something online ( which is a lot). She uses Wikibuy and Honey. Before you pay for your order, they quickly test coupon codes to get you the best deal. Mom never buys anything without a coupon.

Penny’s Tips Volume 54

Hi everyone! I am continuing my series of tips to help you save money this holiday season.

Mom said I should dress the part.

My tip for you today is to take advantage of free shipping. Amazon prime offers a free trial  so why not try it now and do ll your shopping while you have it.

Many stores also offer free shipping with no minimum at this time of year. If you have to send gifts to friends or family that live far away you should use this to your advantage. Have gifts sent directly from the store. No one will care that they are not wrapped, they still have the box to open.

Penny’s Tips Volume 52

Hi everyone! Christmas and Hanukkah will be here before you know it so for the next few weeks I am going to be giving you penny saving tips to help stretch your dollars(and pennies).

You’ll need to make a list of who you need to get gifts for -don’t forget your kitties. Then you can start brainstorming ideas of what to get everyone. I highly recommend ( and no one is paying me to suggest this) BlackFriday.com. You can sign up right now and every day they will send you an email with the latest adds for Black Friday. That way you will already know what will be on sale and you can make a plan for shopping. Or you can just go to their website and see the ads they already have listed.

There is a is a website called Organized Christmas that has a free printable budget list and all kinds of other ways to keep you organized .To visit, click here.

Penny’s Tips Volume 51

Hi everyone! No, I am not getting married. My mom and dad had their wedding anniversary last week. My mom told me that she put a penny in her shoe for good luck on her wedding day- I guess it worked being that they have been married for 27 years.

There is a saying about having something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a lucky sixpence for your shoe. Back in the olden days when they got married, you couldn’t just go online and order up a sixpence so she used a penny. So my tip is to add a penny or a sixpence to your shoe on your wedding day.

Penny’s Tips Volume 50

Hi everyone! It is that time of year when Mom tortures us, I mean lovingly dresses us in costumes for Halloween. Last year we were all characters from movies. This year, we are going to be from television shows. There will be a contest to see who can guess all the shows.

Do you have your costume yet? I have some ideas if you don’t. They all have a penny in them.

1. Penny from Big Bang Theory- just toss on a blonde wig.

2. Pennywise the Clown from It- Chewy has a costume available for that

3. Penny Dreadful- Go as a character from that show- I can’t believe anyone would put the word dreadful after my name though.

4. Coin- go as a real penny. Just be careful because everyone will try to pick you up for good luck.

5. Henny Penny- Dress as a chicken and run around telling everyone the sky is falling.

OK, that is all I’ve got- can you think of any pennies I missed?

Penny’s Tips Volume 49

Hi everyone! The Jewish day of atonement, Yom Kippur begins at sundown so I thought I would tell you a Jewish story. Don’t worry , there is a penny in it.

It is titled, The Rusty Penny by Tuvia Bolton .Many years ago ( the 17 or 1800’s), a rabbi was collecting money to help some Jewish prisoners. He went around with a group and asked everyone to donate. He went to a so-called miser’s home and asked him for a donation. The man gave him a rusty old penny which was considered an insult, but he accepted it and said thank you. A few minutes later, the miser offered him a lot more money which he also graciously accepted. Then the miser offered the entire amount needed. The rabbi later explained the man was not a miser, he had just never had the joy of giving because everyone else threw the rusty penny back in his face.

I may not have explained it that well, you can read the story by clicking here.

The point is, it is good to give and once you do, you will always want to. I am sure that is true, but I am s till not giving away the Kick Stick.
