Awww…Monday

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays.

Penelope wanted a turn modeling with the books I am currently reading.

  1. The Rough Side of the Mountain by Keisha Lance Bottoms is a great memoir written by the former mayor of Atlanta.
  2. Make Believe by Mac Barnett is a short book, 160 pages, but a lot of it is footnotes. The author is a children’s book author and tells what he thinks children’s books should be about. I don’t completely agree with him, but he makes some excellent points.
  3. Through Mom’s Eyes: Simple Wisdom from Mothers Who Raised Extraordinary Humans by Sheinelle Jones. I just started long anticipated book, the author (one of the hosts on The Today show) had to postpone publishing this book when her husband was diagnosed with cancer and later passed away. So far, it was worth the wait.

Rosie will be here tomorrow, but she doesn’t have much news.

  1. It’s so amazing that you can find time to read – you are one of the busiest people I know !! The books you read always sound so interesting too. The only reading to do these days is descriptions of stuff in catalogs (haha).

    Hugs, Pam

  2. Good on you, my “reading eyes” seem to fade so fast now, a big disappointment and tragedy after a lifetime of reading. Keeping trying though, will never give up …

  3. WOW, mama is doing some illustrations for a children’s book that is not run of the mill…this would be a helpful book for her to find publishers, so merci!!!

  4. I just wanted you to know that I look for your blog every day. Blogger no longer lets me access you through my reading list. If I try to it takes me back to the post you did the first of June and it won’t show me anything else. Thank goodness for cat blogosphere because that’s the only way I can get to you. And I don’t want to miss anything! Precious says she’s waving her 🐾 paw at Brody.

  5. It’s great to see you, Penelope!

The books all sound good, especially the last one. Have a blessed week!

  6. Penelope, Mom keeps a book by her chair. She finishes it and here comes another. She is a historical fiction aficionado.

  7. Penelope is a great assistant for your book reviews, Ellen. It’s wonderful to see her. I think the 2nd book would be good. I enjoy children’s books and the illustrations. It’s short so my dry eyes could handle that! No news is sometimes maybe good news? I am always interested in Rosie’s news.

  8. Love your reads and love Penelope posing. So adorable.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to the kitties and a big hug to mom. ♥
