Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful for my black cat, Trouble ( who is no trouble at all).
And for all the black cats I have had the pleasure of owning who are sadly all angels now. Jinx. Tallulah, Noel, Spooky and Drake.
In honor of black cats everywhere, we are having a giveaway for a catnip mat with black cats on it and a zippered pouch that also has black cats on it. Trouble didn’t want to pose so Joanie volunteered.
I can only afford to send it in the USA, but anyone can enter. If you win and you live in another country, I will email you a $5 gift card and let you choose a winner in the US. Just leave a comment on today’s post by Saturday 9PM ( EST) telling us if you ever had a black cat.
We are also joining Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day. And here is the photo prompt provided:
Love the giveaway and the prize(es) are great too. Daisy Mae saw that giveaway and then saw the catnip pad and said I want one like that Mom.
Here’s to black cats everywhere including the angels.
Crystal & Daisy Mae
Thank you. Good luck Daisy Mae! XO
We love black cats ! Well…and calicos, torties, tabbies, etc etc,

Black cat Angel Eli’s hung out at my yard and house. He brought gifts weekly. My Angel Zipper was black and white and sweet.
They sound sweet. XO
Funny poem and cute pictures, Ellen. I adore black cats and think they are extra beautiful; and I love all cats. I’m pretty old so I’ve had lots of black cats. Ligeia, Yeti, Cullen, Minx, Little Buddy, Ultraviolet, Franklin, Boss, Moonpie, and Uncle Jack (feral), and some blk and wte tuxies; and many cats of other colors and patterns too. All lovely kitties! XO
WOW! You have had even more black cats than I have. 🙂 XO
Wonderful photos and poem! 🙂 <3
Thank you. XO
What funny poem!! Love it!!
That is a cool black Cat mat… might even work as a Halloween decoration.
Thank you. Yes, it is very Halloweenish. XO
Oh, Trouble, what a beauty, and how kind of Joanie to step in and pose. And oh, what wonderful black kitties you have loved.
Thank you. XO
Lovely photos of Trouble and your Angels. Great poem too.
Thank you. XO
Love the poem! I had a little brother and I can think of a few times I would have liked to have put him on the clothesline to keep him out of my way when I had my friends over as a kid! I’ve never had a black cat because I developed a real “thing” for gingers right from the start….but I think black cats are gorgeous!!
Hugs, Pam
Glad I didn’t have a brother. 🙂 XO
Oh you naughty boy…MOL…that was a fun poem😸
Love to see all of you sweet Angels and beautiful Trouble. We have two black aunties living with our sistur, and we love them😻Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all of you🐾😽💞
Thank you. XO
Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day!
But it’s every day here at Eastside Cats, with three in residence.
Trouble is a cutie!
Thank you. I hope you are spoiling your 3 today. XO
I’ve had two black cats. Both were extraordinary and neither will be forgotten. Here’s to Jake and Lacey.
Glad you have had black cats too. 🙂
I love black cats! Quite some time ago, I had 2 black cats along with 2 sealpoint Siamese. The black cats were shorthairs and gorgeous. At the time we adopted Callie, I was looking for a black cat but Callie stuck her paw out of her cage and meowed at us. That was all it took for us to adopt her. Callie is a tortie and her most of her fur is black.
Callie sounds like a sweetie. XO
She is and a very sociable and talkative cat.
Mom has never had a black cat but she loves them. Cute poem.
Maybe someday she will have one. 🙂 XO
LOL LOL LOL Ellen
Bryan and I giggled at this and something similar to this probably happened at his house. He is 5 years older than his brother
Hugs cecilia
PS happy Black cat day and speaking of Bryan’s brother his Black cat Ursula and her litter mate Gudrun (tabby) started me on my wonderful journey of being a cat Mom
Glad you liked the poem. 🙂 XO

TBT: Black cats have had a sad but undeserved history. So it is good to celebrate them like all other kinds of cats.
Yes, they are wonderful. XO

I feel so bad for all your losses. ~hugs~ That image and your poem are brilliant. ~giggle~ Be well, my dear.
