Today is also The Lazy Pit Bull’s Blooper Roundup. My cats gave me lots of material to choose from when we did the photo shoot for our Christmas card. Here is Snowball.

  1. I liked your fill ins Ellen. Why am I not surprised you like a Nic Cage film? hehe The blooper roundup with Phoebe having a Christmas hat hanging in her face is priceless.

    Shoko

  2. What a fun blooper! We have a hat like that somewhere…

    1. I love the following Christmas film(s)Miracle on 35th street, and A Christmas Carol. We saw that live once.
    2. I don’t care for the following Christmas film(s) Christmas story..I have seen it way too many times…though I do admit some of it is kind of funny…pawppy loves it and lets it play all day long…UGH!.

    3. At the holidays, I cannot resist the yummy treats that we are not supposed to be having on our paleo diet…so I try to find paleo equivalents. But I still cheat…esp atmy work where they are abundantly laid out..the cookies and fudge grab me the most…I think they are calling my name, MOL!
    4. A favourite holiday memory of mine is when I was 10, we had just moved, and my Dad had quit his job to start his own business…but he was not known yet in the community…anypaws, our Christmas gifts for the five of us, (2 adults and three children aged 5 – 13), all fit into a laundry basket. I was allowed to take home the Christmas tree from our classroom…it was a real one, because we could not afford to buy one. We were poor as church-mice…in 1964, were there still Church-mice??…but we had each other and my aunts and uncles and cousins drove in to celebrate the day with us. We had LOVE good simple food, some goodies, the treat bag from Sunday School, and some practical gifts. We were *happy*! You know sometimes I yearn for times like that…

    1. Thank you for your answers. I have always wanted to see A Christmas Carol live. That is why I don’t like A Christmas Story, it is on for 24 hours.
I hope you can still have some treats for the holidays.
That is a nice memory of your family all together even if you didn’t have much money.

  3. 1. I love the following Christmas films: The Bishop’s Wife(Cary Grant), Prancer, Family Stone.
    2. I don’t care for the following Christmas films: Bad Santa, Scrooged.
    3. At the holidays I cannot resist the holiday FOOD!
    4. A favorite holiday memory of mine is from December 1973. CH(the Husband) gave me a gray tabby kitten, Holly, as a wedding/Christmas present. She was the sweetest cat and lived for 17 years. We have adopted several cats during our marriage but she started it all… 🙂
I enjoyed your Fill-ins and it is nice to “see” you!

    1. Thank you for your answers. I forgot about Prancer, I love that one too. Scrooged is so dark and disturbing, Bad Santa was too, but I lied how he got the kid his stuffed elephant at the end. I am glad you had Holly for so long, that is truly a gift.

  4. Great filling in today…….nice that your hubby took you to see Christmas lights as a treat when you needed cheering up – the lights always do that for me too. Snowball looks totally hilarious in the hat…..cats are amazingly patient sometimes aren’t they???

    Love, Pam

    1. Thank you. I am lucky to have a great hubby. Snowball is patient-especially with my hubby holding her still 🙂 XO and love to you

  5. Great answers, and i especially love how your husband tried to cheer you up that time.

Your Snowball is a comedian, i see!

  6. Such wonderful fill-ins! Although my #1 contains your movies in #2, I can honestly see why someone might put them on the bottom of their list. I have to keep myself from catching those two movies every single time it’s played this time of the year, or I risk getting sick of them. Sometimes I consider them more like guilty pleasures than favorites. What a sweet memory for #4. Your husband sounds like a great man. And, Snowball, we love love love your blooper! Purrs!

  7. Oh, my! That is funny. Two of my favourite holiday movies are A Christmas Story and Elf. We are serious Will Ferrell fans, though. That is funny.

What a sweet photo of you & Hubby. Special.

Of course, the photo of Snowball is adorable! Furkids! HUGS, my sweet friend.

    1. That is funny 🙂 Sorry. That trip to NYC was magical. Snowball thanks you. XO

  8. Snowball, looks like most of us LOVE your ‘blooper’ photo! May I be so bold as to mention one VERY GOOD Will Ferrell movie, called “Stranger Than Fiction”? Believe it or not, but he’s NOT funny, and he is really an amazing actor in this film, opposite Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and more! I haven’t watched a single one of his goofy, comedy movies (except “Elf”), but I’ll rewatch “Stranger Than Fiction” over and over. imho

  9. Snowball, you’ve got the hat on backwards, sweetie!
I love the Patrick Stewart Christmas Carol movie too. We have an audio version of him reading the book which I listen to every year.
    xxoo
Maggie, Mickey Mouser, and Rufus the Red

  10. I enjoyed your fill-ins. I’m not big fan of Christmas films, but I’d like to see Grinch if I get a chance 🙂 Your husband is so sweet to have arranged trip to NYC. Such a lovely holiday memory!

  11. Love the photo of Snowball! Mom answered the questions this week. She had fun. I couldn’t answer them because she doesn’t let me have the remote!

  13. Aaaaaaaaaw Dat’s a really cute blooper. Luv your answers. We don’t think we unnerstand dat festivus thing at all, but dat’s okay, we don’t have anythin’ to complain ’bout really. And Concats, we had hoped to win dat amazon purrime ourselves. MOL Big hugs to all.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

    1. Thank you. Festivus was on Seinfeld so if you didn’t see the episode you would not know what it is about. XO

  14. Would you believe I’ve never seen Elf? My favorite Christmas movies are the classics. My number one is White Christmas.

Pierrot now has double happiness: he gets to see his sweet Snowball (kind of) and he’s loving the blue fishy that came with the sunglasses. We received the sunglasses earlier this week. I hope I’ll get to them soon!

Great pic of you & hubby!

    1. Don’t waste your time on Elf, especially if you like classics. We are glad the sunglasses are there and he likes the toy. We need to send a new set of toys for the rest of the kitties it needs to go to.

  15. We really don’t have much for the fill-ins unless we change a few words. The residents in Dyker Hgts. are up in arms cos they turned all their parking spaces into parking for the tourist buses.
    1. I love the following Christmas song(s) I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day—Roy Wood and Happy Christmas (War is Over)—John Lennon.
    2. I don’t care for the following Christmas songs(s) Christmas Wrapping—Waitresses.
    3. At the holidays, my peeps cannot resist buying lots of cookies and German Stollen and Pfeffernusse.
    4. A favourite holiday memory of TW’s is when her Dad wrapped one of Chizzy’s smousey toys and gave it to him for Christmas. Everyone got a good laugh when he told them where he got it.

    1. I didn’t hear that about Dyker Heights. When we went, the bus stopped off to the side of the street so we could walk around briefly.
I love the song, Happy Christmas too, but I prefer Sarah Mclaughlan’s version. I was planning to do songs next week 🙂
That is a funny story about Chissy’s toy 🙂 Have a nice weekend!

  16. I love “A Christmas Story” as it is like my childhood in oh so many ways. What I wanted was not a Red Ryder BB gun, but a Lionel electric train set. I did get it in 1953, and I have it still. It all still works, and was the greatest Christmas present I ever received. . . .

    1. At least you can’t shoot your eye out with a train 🙂 That is great that you still have it and cherish it to this day.

  17. That is a great photo of Snowball. 🙂 Such a pretty, white kitty. We used to have one named Vain. He had blue eyes and was such a little rascal, sweet as could be. The other kitties were afraid of him, even though they were grown already and he was still a baby. He thought he was bigger than he really was and they acted like he was, too. 🙂

That was very sweet of your husband to take you to NYC to help comfort you in your time of grief.

    Have a blessed weekend!

  18. Some great answers. Cute Snowball kitty. We have seen some of those movies before and I think our oldest daughter has a copy of Elf here somewhere. Hope you have a great week and a Merry Christmas.

  19. Snowball, we love that picture. What a good kitty you are. That certainly was so nice of your husband to take you to N.Y. for a nice time out. I do like watching Christmas movies.

  20. Ellen, I don’t believe I’ve seen the version of A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart before, so I will have to check it out. That’s some amazing light display in NY. I’m not a Will Ferrell fan. Nearly everything I’ve seen him in has been horrible. We tried watching Elf one year and about 30 minutes or less into the movie we abandoned it. It was just stupid just like most of the stuff he does. Since you don’t mind shopping big at Christmas then you can get me a car. I am on your list, aren’t I? lol Enjoy the blessed holiday season, my friend and thanks for hosting the Friday Fill-ins fun!

    1. You will love it, it was made for the tv channel TNT. Good to know I am not the only one that doesn’t care for Will Ferrell. I wish I could get you a car 🙂

  21. I do like Elf – but it’s probably mostly due to the fact my children can watch it and enjoy it. But nothing beats A Christmas Carol – or other classics. The message in those ones is timeless.
