Hi everyone. Before we show our Halloween costumes, I have a Prancie update. She is improving and can walk pretty well, just a little unsteady. The vet did not think she had a stroke. She thinks it is vestibular and possibly from an ear infection. She had an antibiotic shot and has ear drops. Thank you all for the purrs and prayers.

First off, black cats don’t need costumes, they are perfect just as they are. And Polar Bear is impossible to dress so he decided to pose with a ghost.

The other eight went with an ocean theme.

Sammy as Popeye with Olive Oil and Sweet Pea ( actually, it is a sugar snap pea).

 

Emmy is a penguin

Penny is a crab ( she is mad that she couldn’t do her tips today).

Millie is a pirate

Brody is an octopus

Joanie is the Gorton’s Fisherwoman

Prancie is a mermaid

    I guess I like Prancie’s and Millie’s get-ups the best. They somehow look born to their roles.

  3. I so hope Prancie gets better! ~hugs~ These are all adorable costumes. I’m fond of octopi but the sailor costume with the props made me giggle, especially since my mother adored men in naval uniform when she was young. ~grin~ Hope poor Penny gets to do more tips soon.

    I do think somehow that Millie is a cat-teriffic pirate!! But Brody and his eyes speak volumes, MOL!
    Sheesh, if we had to cast a vote I would be in trouble! I like all of thsoe cotumes and not costumes, too.

    Glad to know that Prancie is improving. Sending major purrs and pawyers and POTP. Our angel kitty Suki had a vestibular disorder too, and so does MrJackFreckles.

    1. Thank you, glad you like our costumes. How long did Angel Suki have symptoms? I think it is odd that Prancie improved overnight, not completely , but a lot. XO

      1. Suki had that trouble for well over a year…she would stumble and walk in a circle one day and then be pretty good the next. She had a head tilt too. But she also has seizures.
        MrJackFeckles has that trouble where he is very dizzy and vomits and stumbles around…then gradually he gets better. The first time was so scary for us, because he went from normal to where I thought h had had a stroke, but then the vet said he had that ‘old dog syndrome’ which is like Meniere’s disease in humans. Now he is pretty deaf, but he hasn’t had an acute episode for quite a while. He does have a drunked gait, and bad balance. And his appetite is quite poor, most of the time, he needs coaxing to eat.

        1. I was surprised how quickly Prancie recovered so it is good to know Suki would too. She has no nausea though. I am sorry MJF is not eating well. XO

  6. I’m relieved to hear that Prancie is improving, and that it could just be an ear infection – I really hope that’s all it is, and it clears up soon!

    The costumes are ALL awesome! Although I do think I like Sammy’s best – it made me MOL!

  10. What GREAT costumes! They’re all fabulous but I think Sammy’s popeye costume is the coolest one! I hope you only have TREATS around your house today and NO tricks……………we are happy that Prancie is better.

    Good gravy, you have the cats! I knew you had a lot but I forget and I always wonder why I can’t keep their names straight and now I know why. There are just too many of them for me to remember. lol

    Oh, good heavens! These costumes are so cute. I like them all but I think my favorite is the Popeye costume. Adding the bottle of Olive Oil is a cool touch! 😉

  21. I am so glad Prancie is doing better. Vestibular issues sure can be alarming. One of my childhood dogs went through two separate bouts of idiopathic “old dog vestibular disease”. After a couple of weeks of recovery each time, she was back to her usual self. Continued purrs and prayers to Prancie!

    And, of course, you all look purrfect for Halloween! At first we were thinking our favorite was Millie the pirate. But then we were thinking what an adorable penguin Emmy makes. And then we realized that we simply love all of them! Happy Halloween!

  23. We’re so glad Prancie’s feeling better. I appreciate you including the link – it sounds exactly like what happened to Kitty. I was terrified. The vet never said this could be the cause – perhaps she missed it?!? I know it’s over and done with … but it upsets me to think Kitty could’ve had something that was treatable when the vet was telling me that I should let her go. I’m glad Prancie’s vet got it right!

    1. I didn’t want to have Prancie wear the costume, but I didn’t have a chance to get anything else 🙁 No one will ever wear Phoebe’s bikini or her dress harness though.
      I am sad thinking of Halloween with my Phoebe. I am thankful that Prancie is doing better though, she also has thyroid disease. Chin scritches. XO

  32. Fingers are crossed that the antibiotics help Prancie quickly! Brody is my favorite, because his stink-eye is the very best!

    We are relieved to hear that Prancie is improving and that it is something treatable. We will continue to think of all of you, and hope she is all better soon.

  35. Those vestibular illnesses can be awful, but once they are gone, it’s all good. I wish Prancie hadn’t been sick, but glad it isn’t something that will continue forever. I’m in awe that you could get your cats in their costumes and get them to pose. You are the master!

  36. We are so happy Prancie is feelin’ better. But, we’re still purrayin’. We don’t have a clue who da Gorton fisherwoman is, but she’s adorable. Not da woman, Joanie. Everypawdy looks great. Big hugs to all.

  46. Oh no! Prancie too? One of Susan Willett’s cats got something like that after having a dental. I like cats natural furs but the Popeye is pretty cute.

  51. Oh Miss Ellen, I love all the photos of your kitties, but I guess my fav would be Ka Two with the shark fin. Eek! Looks like the waters aren’t safe anymore for swimmers (cue JAWS music.. da ont da ont da not). Tee hee hee! I hope everypawdy had a fun All Hallows Eve!   53. Cool kitty costumes! I like them all, and they looked pretty patient posing for their photos! I used to make our cats Halloween costumes. I still have them, and our kitties didn’t mind at all trying them on. 🙂
