Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and Ten Things of Thankful

My art ties in with The A-Z Blogging Challenge. Noel is posing with our G, a ghost. I tried to put a black frame around it and ended up with this.

Here are my thankfuls-

  1. We had a wonderful Easter.
  2. Enough leftovers for most of the week, and I even sent everyone home with some too.
  3. The decadent pie my niece made with a chocolate graham crust and chocolate chip cookie dough inside ( not actual dough, but tasty) topped with whipped cream and drizzed with chocolate syrup.
  4. Thankful our church does food blessing for Easter, here is a photo of some of the beautiful baskets people make. Ours is not included, we keep everything wrapped because we are germphobes.

5, Another vet free week.

6.The Great One usually teases me when I want a kiss goodbye, but today she came right over for a kiss.

7. A surprise package in the mail with my favorite candy 🙂

8. I am thankful that I am more laid back than I used to be. My niece was so worried about The Great One breaking something and I just said, “she’d be doing me a favor, I have too many things anyway.” I remember crying over things my niece used to break like ears off of rabbit statues.

9. We got an inch of snow today- and it melted by the end of the day.

10.Hubby bought me a pineapple, I know that sounds odd, but I have been saying I wanted to get one and haven’t so when he went to get cat litter, he also got me a pineapple which was thoughtful.

  2. You’ve got some great thankfuls today! That was sweet that your hubby brought you a pumpkin – he “heard you” when you said you’d like to have one…….that deserved a hug for sure!

    Hugs, Teddy and Mom too

  3. Great list of thankfuls. Being thankful is the best feeling. I bet the pineapple was good. Best wishes for a great day for all of you.

  4. Another vet free week? Amazing. I’m so happy for you. I thought of you last night when giving Tilly her felimazole pill for hyper-thyroidism. She just sits there and takes it, so sweet, but this time her tooth cut me through the plastic glove! Do you glove up for dosing kitties? I figure the last thing I need is my thyroid to slow down. ~grin~ Be well!

    1. I should wear a glove because I already take meds for a slow thyroid. Have you tried a pill pocket or putting it in cheese?

  5. Great things to be thankful for!! We always wondered what foods people brought to be blessed. We figured it was just bread but those baskets have lots of different stuff in them.

    1. It is meats, butter, eggs, bread and horseradish- salt too and usually a chocolate bunny 🙂

  6. That sounds like an amazing week…. and another inch of snow, too! What happened to global warming – er, forget I asked that, it’s in my yard. IF the prediction is right, we’ll see 88 today and I, for one, think I’d prefer that inch of snow, though I know my garden wouldn’t appreciate it.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  7. It’s good to look at all the things that you need to be thankful for. Some folks have so many, but they never notice them.

Have a purrfect day and weekend. ♥

  8. Pawsome week you had. My favorite part was the “no vet visits”. Our human’s church had the annual community Easter Egg hunt. Almost 500 little humans running through the wet snow and humans hovering inside the church while we fed them donuts and coffee and invited them to the service. Each child got an amazing Easter Bible story on a thumb drive (those humans are getting pretty techy).

  9. Your art is so pretty! I enjoyed reading your list of thankful. Your husband is really sweet to get you pineapple 🙂

  10. What a wonderful list. I think the older we get, the less we care about material things. I am the same way if the dogs break something, I just don’t worry about it anymore.
That was a very thoughtful thing of your hubby to do! Simple things like that can mean so much.

    1. Thank you. Yes, I know I don’t care about things anymore. I am blessed to have a good hubby. XO

  11. What a cute ghost! I just cannot get enough of your adorable creations. And, as always, I really enjoyed reading your Thankfuls. I don’t blame you one bit for being thankful for the pineapple. Your husband is very thoughtful, and pineapples are delicious! Happy Saturday!

  12. Wow, that’s a whole lot of great reasons to be thankful. Mom was happy to have enough ham left over for another hot meal, some lunch sandwiches, and a great pot of pea soup. That dessert sure sounds delicious.

  13. Reading this my first thought was, is it any wonder I like you so! You are someone I wish I lived next door to.

  14. Your thankful list is womderful to read, esp the no vet visits!

I forgot to say that your blue fish could be god advertising for the blufish company…they do work in communications around here. Thst is a cute ghost and I sure do love that ‘frame’!

  15. Ellen,

There’s no shame in being a germaphobe. We are a bit ourselves. It pays to be defensive and smart with so many germs floating around and people are way too generous with passing them on, too. No thank you! Let’s rub elbows instead of shaking hands, shall we? 🙂

Ah, that’s super sweet of your hubs to bring home a pineapple to you. It’s little things like that that makes a relationship extra special. DH had to work again today. 🙁 I’m outta here. Have a good day!

  16. Mellowing out as one ages is a good thing. . .so much healthier.
Receiving a pineapple is a good as receiving a box of chocolate! I almost bought one the other day.
Having Easter dinner leftovers is a great thankful too.

  17. Love the ghostie with the black cat that looks happy as can be. Sounds like Easter was good and snow doesn’t want to let up

  18. A man who gets you a pineapple is a keeper, for sure. Mmm, that pie sounds delicious, as someone who doesn’t like most pies, if they are fruit.

  19. Finally I am catching up on TToT’s and this was a lovely Easter one! That pie sounds delicious, and leftover are so nice! The Easter food blessing is something new to me, mine would probably be wrapped up like yours. 🙂 Yay for vet free weeks, always a relief and a break for the budget! I think surprise gifts are the very best ones! As we get a bit older we finally realize that life is not so much about the things we accumulate, no matter how precious, it’s about the friends and family and the memories we make together! Our house is rather accident free as it is because the furkids have a penchant for knocking things over, thus we’ve learned to put them up, and I don’t do that much décor. 🙂 I hope your snow season is finally over for good now! Pineapple sounds like the perfect way to celebrate the season of Springtime and all things fresh and good! Thank you for sharing with us each week at TToT! XOXO

    1. Thank you. I am always happy to not have to go to the vets. I agree that things don’t matter, only people and pets. XO
