Friendly Fill-Ins Week 118

Time for The Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section.

1. I am going_________________.

2. I want to be more ______________.
3. Once in a blue moon, I _________.
4. I have a large collection of _________.
My answers:
1. I am going to get a much needed pedicure on Saturday.
2. I want to be more mindful. I feel like I have a ping pong ball in my head, I never concentrate fully on anything.
3. Once in a blue moon, I got out after 4PM. I know that sounds odd, but I rarely go out in the evening unless it is to a wake, wedding or something like that.
4. I have a large collection of Halloween decorations and I can’t wait to get them out for the season.
Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day. Most of you know that black cats are least likely to be adopted because many people think they are bad luck which is ridiculous. They are just as sweet and loving as any other color kitty.

  1. Funny how much our minds wander, isn’t it? It feels like i’m always trying to do several things at once, and so i don’t concentrate on things fully, either.

Now that i think about it, once i get home from work i don’t want to leave most of the time, so i don’t get out in the evenings very often, either.

    Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day!

  2. Well my mind wanders a lot too – more and more as I get older and older! We don’t generally go out at night either unless we’re going out to dinner (which we rarely do!)…….we are homebodies here. You have a beautiful crew of black kitties and we think black cats are gorgeous!! Happy Friday!

    Hugs, Pam (and Teddy to!)

  3. What a beautiful collection of house panthers. It’s interesting that you mention Halloween today – when I was at the grocery store yesterday, I noticed the huge display of Pumpkin Spice Cheerios! Time marches on … faster than we’d like most of the time.

  4. Always enjoy your answers! #2 – I’m the same way. My mind is always working overtime. And I LOVE black cats. It is horrible how people think of them as bad luck. They are so sweet.

  5. Aww! they all look so happy heheh!

I liked your fill-ins, hope you enjoy your pedicure tomorrow

Have a neatnailstastic weekend and Black Cat Appreciation Day 🙂

  6. Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! The peeps don’t go out after dark anymore either, which is strange for TW whose day used to begin at 10 pm. She says almost every night she’d be running to some club or another to see a band. We don’t live in the safest hood so she took her life into her hands. I wonder if Pop is gonna put the Halloween decorations out this year. He’s been getting lazy.

    1. I have never liked being out late even though I stay up late. I hope your Pop decorates for Halloween. XO

  7. I don’t even like to go out after 3! The roads turn crazy with commuters rushing here and there. Yesterday around 3:15 I almost got hit. Those idiots are as bad as people against black cats. ~shakes head~ I like how some photographers give lessons on how shelter volunteers can best photograph their onyx adoptees.

  8. My mind wanders too. I think the older we get the more it wanders. Sometimes I think mine leaves town for a day or two.

I love black kitties. Our last kitty was black and she was the best kitty ever.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. My best to your peeps. ♥

    1. Same here 🙂 Black kitties are sweet, but most kitties are. I hope you have a nice weekend too.

  9. Mom is probably very excited right now because she is getting a much needed pedicure:)

Trouble is a beautiful black cat for sure.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  10. We enjoyed your fill ins and will have to do one soon. Is that black cat in the pic named TROUBLE? Our human used to have a black cat named “TRANSGRESSION.” She was the only black cat in a littler of striped siamese. Go figure.

We linked to your Blogosphere black cats post and also your blog today in our post.

    Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day!

    1. Thank you for the link to the Blogosphere post, I appreciate it. 🙂 Yes, her name is Trouble because I knew she would get me in trouble with David 🙂 XO

  11. Love the black kitties! The kitty before us was a black kitty so our mommy has a special place in her heart for them. Speaking of our mommy, she got her first pedicure ever a month ago – can you believe that? It was in prep of their vacation to Maui so who knows when she’ll get another one.

  12. Hmm, The Tribe of Five is thinking this “pedicure” thing is now that The Female Human tries to make us think it is. Whenever we get our claws clipped she claims we’re getting a “pedicure” but this is not something we look forward to and it sounds like you enjoy this pedicure thing.

We loved the black cat photos!

  13. I always look forward to your fill-ins. I really like how you answered #2. That is something I need to remember myself. Being mindful is so important, yet also so often forgotten, at least by me. And I also should have put the same answer as you for #4! I have such a huge collection of both Halloween and Christmas decorations, and I can’t wait to put them all up. I wouldn’t even mind having them all up at the same time. That’s probably why I like The Nightmare Before Christmas so much.

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day to all of you cuties! You’re all the best good luck charms that ever existed. Purrs!

    1. Thank you 🙂 Yes, The Nightmare Before Christmas is a great combo of the 2 best holidays. XO

  14. guyz…black catz rock, all wayz haz N all wayz will, one oh de veree furst trouterz waza houze pantherz named sam…tho him waz a loud ta go out side..that waz like a million ago !! 🙂 ♥♥

  15. Black cats are so beautiful, and we are glad they get a special day. Mom loves Halloween too, mostly for the decorations. They are so colorful and sparkly with just a bit of edge (she prefers the non gory stuff). One year she scored a pair of tall wire witch’s boots, purple and back with glitter, from Michael’s Craft Store. And year before last, Pier One, a pair of aristocratic owls dressed in H’ween finery for a costume ball.

  16. I’m the same way about going out at night! I would much rather be tucked safely inside at night. I’m with you on the Halloween decorations too…and Christmas!

  17. Have fun with that pedicure! What color will they paint your toenails?

I have ping-pong head, too. It gets very frustrating sometimes, doesn’t it?

Black cats are great! Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day. 🙂

I don’t like trying to drive after dark. Thanks to the cataracts, every light has a star filter on it and it makes driving very difficult. Staying home is much easier.

    Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

    1. Thank you. I am getting pink because The Great One told me too 🙂 I hope you have a blessed weekend too. XO

      1. Thank you. It went okay.

I bet the pink polish is really pretty. How did the pedicure go? I’ve never had one, but I don’t think I could stand anyone messing with my feet. They are very ticklish. 🙂

        Have a blessed day.

        1. My Mom and I started getting them in 2013 before my niece’s wedding and now we are hooked. I hope you had a blessed day too. XO

  18. Lovely black kitties!

You are like mum Marie as she hates going out after 4pm too. She wasn’t always that way. She tells me in her younger days she could stay out all night. That was a long time ago!

  19. I need to be more mindful, too. I have always moved on to the next subject in my head and can’t even finish the words of what I am trying to get out to CH. I am always ahead of myself. We don’t go out after dinner, which is 6 oh clock… it’s like our day is done, I am pooped. I am going to be so happy for you when you can get your Halloween decorations up and I bet The Great One will be happy too!
    1. I am going to check out the cat rescue today I want to volunteer at if all falls in place.
    2. I want to be more at peace… not worry so much about things I have no control over. Nothing new here… I just keep working on it.
    3. Once in a blue moon, I have to have a Hostess (or whoever makes them now) Chocolate Cupcake.
    4. I have a large collection of… hmmm, I don’t collect things anymore. I have been trying to keep “stuff” at a minimum. I guess the largest collection of anything I have is Bounty towels. I go through them like crazy.
Love seeing your black cats! Trouble always makes me smile… 🙂

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I think it is fantastic you are going to volunteer at your local rescue- who knows, maybe you will fall in love with a kitty. 🙂 We only use Bounty too despite the fact I get annoyed when it says 6 rolls =10, etc. XO

  20. A pedicure sounds like heaven! I can understand the ping pong brain! LOL! We have a ton of Christmas decorations but not many for Halloween. We haven’t participated in handing out candy for many years but will this year in our new neighborhood. ☺

    1. I have as many for Halloween as for Christmas and we don’t even get trick or treaters 🙂

  21. I need to be more mindful too. With so much going on, it is easy to get lost into where I need to do next and how am I ever going to juggle everything–when really, I need to focus more on the here and now. I love black cats. 🙂 And I am really looking forward to Halloween this year. I am not sure why, but I am. It’s becoming my favorite holiday, even over Christmas. Have a great weekend, Ellen!

  22. Grate fotoss efurryone! Say Aunty Ellen mee finkss you REELLY like black katss!!! No wunder you offered fur mee to live with you!!!!!! Mew mew mew…..

  23. Dear Ellen,

Thank you for being such a faithful blogging friend over the years. I always enjoy reading your comments and visiting you and your kitties and I especially love your black cats (they have always been among my favorites!)

Congrats – you are our Friend of the Week at Friendship Friday! I especially enjoyed featuring Trouble today (her photo jumped out at me on the linky and she truly stole my heart!)

I also read in one of our posts that CONGRATS are in order to you on an upcoming books although I could not find the original post with the details – so do share when you have a moment – I am SO excited for you!

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you have a chance to connect with lots of bloggers, old and new, this week! 🙂

    1. Thank you for choosing me as Friend of the week, that is so sweet. I love that photo of Trouble, it shows off those big eyes of hers 🙂 And thanks for the congrats on the book, I am hoping you will want to review it when it is available. XO
