My answers:
1. Fireworks are something I could live without, they scare the cats.
  I love this photo of  my Angel Phoebe with a fake firecracker.
2. My favorite 4th of July picnic food is a hotdog with mustard and a spoonful of baked beans on top.
3. I begin every day with coffee in bed, delivered by the hubby. And a cuddle with Joanie and any other willing kitty.
4. Alexa is the best thing since sliced bread. I love asking her the weather, Red Sox score, etc.

    1. I sure hate firecrackers here. Never did like them. Mom doesn’t either. I guess we are just sticks in the mud. xxx

    2. I love hotdogs with liberal mustard, chopped raw onions and sweet pickle relish. Mouf is watering now!

    3. I begin every day with genuine heartfelt fervent gratitude that I am here to enjoy its beauty. And each weather system has it’s beauty.

    4. Vehicles of any sort are the best thing since sliced bread. I live in a far flung out community. I’d have to walk 7 miles to get downtown and I’m IN the City.

  10. That is such a cute photo of Angel Phoebe. She looks like she’s thinking of stomping on the firecracker! I love hot dogs too, but I’m doing turkey dogs these days–and I’ve never tried baked beans on top. Sounds yummy! 🙂

    I like hotdogs with mustard, too. It sounds like you have a sweet hubby, delivering you coffee in bed. I like to sniff it, but can’t drink it…well, unless it is in the form of mocha, then I can stomach it. 🙂

  22. Fantastic fill-ins, as always! I always feel so torn on fireworks. As a kid, I loved to go to fireworks show. To this day, if there is a safe, organized show at a reasonable location, I sometimes will head that way. However, as I got older, I grew to despise when people set fireworks off willy-nilly all over town. It is dangerous for humans and animals, and it breaks my heart to think of all the animals that must be so scared and trying to hide away from the frightening sights and sounds. But now I’m just ranting. Sorry!

    I’m not usually much of a fan of hot dogs, but now I’m craving a chili dog. And what a wonderful way to start every day! Hand-delivered coffee (your husband gets kudos from us!) and kitty cuddles would make any day start out perfectly. Your #4 gave me a good chuckle. My sister has an Alexa. On one hand, Alexa annoys me so much. On the other hand, I’m nevertheless asking her questions all the time. I’m constantly asking her for the temperature and forecast.

    1. Thank you. I used to go to fireworks too, but never really enjoyed them, I hate the smoke smell and the bugs outside.
      My hubby was anti Alexa, but now he loves her too.

  23. I completely agree with you on firewords. I agree with coffee though but I have to make a Starbucks run (no hubby around anymore). My favorite 4th of July picnic food is potato salad which I can no longer have being on a low potassium diet. Ugh!

    1. I love this photo of Phoebe, it is one of my favorites because it shows how playful she was. It is a wooden firecracker I bought at a craft fair years ago, like 25 yrs. ago. It is hot here too and is going to be for a t least a week. Keep cool nephew. XO

  29. We’re not on IG. We don’t have the excuse anymore that we don’t have a smart phone to post from since there are desktop apps now. TW thinks it’s way too easy to steal photos from IG. She also buys the angus test tubes now cos she sez they have less pieces of bone and grizzle. Also the nitrite-free ones.

  39. I’ve been a vegetarian for almost six years now, and I miss a good hot dog. I did have a veggie one for the first time a couple months ago and I swore they gave me a real hot dog (by looking at it). It tasted okay enough, but nothing like the real thing! I think you already follow me on Instagram. Glad you’re on there now!

  41. I used to love the big fireworks shows and I still do to some extent. I like being able to view them from afar, though, and not have to actually be there. I do not like, however, fireworks set off by individuals. A plus from moving to CA is that where we live fireworks are not allowed. There is a big show put on by the city, and it’s several miles away.

    That hot dog you described sounds delicious!

    I sure miss seeing Phoebe and her personality.

    1. Fireworks are illegal in Mass., but people go over the border to NH to get them. 🙁

  44. In answer to your question about Instagram, I have one but I never go there. The same is true with most social media. I have a Facebook but never go there.

    I have never had a hot dog with baked beans on it. Mustard is okay in small doses. For me, I like a hot dog with Duke’s mayonnaise, and cole slaw. I also like them with Duke’s, Armour Chili, and American cheese.

    2. My favorite 4th of July picnic food is brats-Since I’m Keto, I don’t eat bread
    3. I begin every day by swishing coconut oil in my mouth for 10 minutes before brushing my teeth.
    4. My Ninja blender is the next best thing since sliced bread. I could not live without it, I literally use it every day, sometimes more than once!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I need to learn more about keto. DO you find the coconut oil helps? I have read about using it on your teeth, but wasn’t sure if it was true.
