Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
I am thankful for my not great housekeeping skills. Back in June, I found a piece of potato under the cart in my kitchen, and it had sprouted so I asked my hubby to plant it. From that one piece, we got the harvest above. We dug these up when The Boy was here on Sunday. I didn’t get any photos of that because all our hands were dirty.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

That is quite the bounty as a reward for giving it a new life in the garden! Looks like a yummy potato dish will soon be served.
Yes, soon. Just don’t tell my potato head family. 🙂 XO
Wow, nice bunch of potatoes from that one small portion! XO
Yes, more than we expected. XO
I bet The Boy was thrilled to help you do a little gardening and come in with all of potatoes.
He sure was. XO
Wow! What a great bounty. Some things are meant to be.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Potatoes are amazing. I planted them for a few years. Little bits and lots of crop. Even bugs eating the leaves don’t seem to bother them.
Yes, they are. One year the voles got to them though.
Wow, that’s prett amazing!
Thank you. 🙂
I never had luck the few times, maybe 3, I tried planting them. Just got a shriveled thumb sized thingy for my trouble.
Hmmm.wonder what happened? XO
Java Bean: “Ayyy, time to make the French fries!”
MOL! 🙂
Homegrown potatoes are the best! And so easy to grow–you can even plant the spud with eyes in a five-gallon bucket with potting soil so they’re easier to dig up because no digging! Make sure you make yourselves a big serving of mashed potatoes with those fresh ones, it’s a totally different experience.
Good to know. We did ours in a raised bed. We will definitely have mashed potatoes. XO
How cool the sprouts came through for the harvest, yum! Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. 🙂
Oh, I have a terrific meme or two about potatoes left too long; maybe there is a National Potato Day holiday I need to add to my list of kooky holidays.
There must be one.
Wow, nice!
Thank you. 🙂
we are tater lovers here..what a fun surprise
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. 🙂 XO
It’s amazing how much one small potato can produce.
Yes, it is. 🙂
I bet The Boy had a great time! So much fun stuff going on at your house, Ellen! Ida loved to help you dig them up. I probably wouldn’t have been able to make my knees work but it would have been worth it!
He did have fun and we did too. We grew them in a raised bed so I didn’t have to get on my knees which is good. XO
That’s great!
Thank you. 🙂
We believe the patatoe was very happy you let him planted, and gave you a grateful overload of patatoes in return🐱Double Pawkisses for all of you🐾😽💞
Yes, I think so too. XO
