Wordless Wednesday

Sorry, we are not wordless this Wednesday either. For the letter R ( of The A-Z Challenge) I recommend reading. Reading makes me happy.  I think most people enjoy reading as long as they can read what interests them. I enjoy reading blogs and memoirs. What do you like to read?

Be There 2Day Wordless Wednesday

Before we go, we want to give our sympathies to Cat Scout Charles. He was a good friend to my Sammy. Back in 2015, Cat Scouts sent flat versions of themselves to visit friends and he stayed with us. To read about it, click here.

You can leave condolences to his mom on FB. Click here.

  1. We enjoy reading blogs by our friends. Dad likes to read fiction most of all, and Mom likes non-fiction best. XO – Ava

P.S. We are very sad about Charles, and are purring lots.

    1. Sounds like my hubby and I. He reads Science fiction and I like non-fiction. XO

  2. Most of what I read involves cats one way or another. Although I really prefer nonfiction, I’ve been reading a lot of fiction lately. I enjoy everyone’s blog posts too! XO

  3. Charles was a good friend to all……..he will be missed. As for what my Mom likes to read – she enjoys mysteries BEST of all!

    Hugs, Teddy

  4. Reading makes me happy too and I have a book or two nearby all the time.

Sorry about Charles. It’s so hard when they leave us.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Ellen. Big hug to you and scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  5. I love to read bu I know too many people who hate reading regardless of subject to agree with your supposition. I like to read fiction, biography and a wide variety of other non fiction.

  6. I love to read mysteries, and am happy that four of my top favorite authors have new books coming out!
So, I re-read the whole series, so when the new book hits my hands, I’ve got the story arc fresh in my mind.

  7. You know I love to read. My favorite books are cozy mysteries with cats, but I like cozies without cats too.

I’m so sorry to hear about Cat Scout Charles. So sad.

  8. I am sorry to hear about Charles. That is a sweet photo of Joanie and the Great One.

  9. We’re sorry to hear about handsome Charles. That’s always so sad when they have to go.
Our people read a whole array of things. The mom prefers stories that are made up and can take her mind away from real world things.

  10. Sweet kitty photos ~ XX ~ I like to read constantly ~ Mysteries (belong to Book Club of mystery readers), philosophy, novels, biographies ~ I love good books!

  11. I love to read too! I read almost anything but my favorites are Blogs, Fiction: Sci Fi, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Action Adventures, Spy Novels, Murder Mysteries Non fiction: Psychology Books, History, Archaeology, Art Books, How-tos, Biographies and I collect Pop-Up books. Since I retired I have been reading about 5 books a week! I have really been enjoying having the time to kick back and just read.

    1. WOW! You have varied taste which is good. Glad you can enjoy reading now . XO

  12. Ellen I am like you~books are fabulous!
I have the first book I read as an 8 year old: “Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch”
I read many different types of books: Science Fiction; Crime Dramas; Mysteries; Aboriginal books; History books; Biographies; Poetry; Stephen King (seriously he is his own genre!)
I also LOVE to read mysteries & crime dramas written by Swedish & Norwegian & Icelandic Authors. The books are of course translated from their native tongue into English.
My fave Norwegian author is Karin Fossum. My fave Icelandic author is Yrsa Sigurdardottir (& people think my last name is hard to pronounce!) Fave Swedish author is Mr. Jo Nesbo.
And that concludes the Nordic tour of my reading library!!!

    1. WOW! You like a lot of genres. You really know your stuff, you could be a librarian. XO

      1. Funny you should say that Ellen…I DID consider becoming a Librarian years ago!!
But then I figured I would be showing everyone else books & not have time to read myself!! HAHAHA!
I forgot to mention one of my fave British Crime writer’s is Ann Cleeves. She wrote the “VERA” series. And it was made into a U.K. TV series. Brenda Blethyn is spectacular as DCI Vera Stanhope! She brought the books to life in such an amazing & real life way.

  13. Reading is one of my favorite things too. I enjoy reading blogs and novels, mysteries, crime, or family stories.
