Hi everyone! I am attempting to put away all our Christmas decorations. I can’t bring myself to take the tree down yet though. I did find another gift for the kitties that they somehow missed.

It is a water activated fish
Sammy checked it out, but had no interest after a few seconds.
And look who is hogging it. Little Penny the toy hoarder.
It moves around like a real fish, but no one tried to scoop it out. Does anyone else have one of these ? If so, does your cat play with it?
We’ve never had one of these!

Saw a hilarious video on Facebook of a cat playing in a bowl of water with two of these fish swimming around in it – REALLY having a ball…..water all over the countertop but the cat was loving it!

Always fun when you find a gift that you missed! Our tree is still up, too, and I’m the same way about taking it down. So sad when the holidays are over and the tree has to go.
It is sad and being that ours is artificial, no harm leaving it up.

Oh, what a fun toy for you all! I bet the kitites around here would love something like that. Thank you for the idea! We have real fish and a frog, and the kitties sure do love to watch them. Sometimes they love them a little too much, and they try to break into the aquariums. Maybe one of these would give the real fish a nice little break from all that harassment. Purrs to all of you!

How fun on both finding another gift and the gift itself. Penny will have lots of fun. I’m guessing if you leave it around a bit others will find it interesting too.

When we tried to stimulate Angel and Chuck’s desire to drink water, we’ve floated ice cubes in their dish. They were scared of it! A floaty fish may bring out a different reaction. I’d like to try one on Patty O’Malley, outside! I’m thinking that he’d put on quite a show, with a water bowl and fishy!
I bet Patty would enjoy it. 🙂

“Penny, the toy hoarder …” For some reason, that struck me as hilarious … and I remember the picture too. Bear drops his toys in his water bowl and then bats them out (well, unless his paw gets TOO wet … then he leaves it). Maybe I should get one for him?

Lots of Sphynx have those to play with in the tub when they get their baths! We have not been able to find one here in Canada, however. We think it would probably be fun!

That looks like such a fun toy. My Fleurp really wanted to play with my beta fish when I first got him, I had to rearrange the house to prevent her from getting to him.

I have never seen one of those. It is the sort of thing that Eric would have liked. He used to love playing in and with water.
That is pretty rare, most cats don’t like water.

It is actually a child’s toy, I got mine at a local chain called Ocean State Job Lot, but you can get them on ebay. Glad to have made you feel better. XO

We have those fishies and only Quint was brave enough to try to scoop it out of the water bowl. Everyone else just stared at it like something serious was out of whack. Like, “Why is there an elephant swimming in my water bowl?”

You need to swim that in the bathtub! Even I watch it for minutes! Can’t say I’ve tried to scoop it out though.
Pipo almost always dips his paw in the bowl to get a drink, maybe he would be intrigued by this fish. Who knows? Not sure about Minko…we had tow other kitties, Simba and Toki who would have loved it.
