Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. We are very thankful that Prancie is almost back to her normal self, she is still a little weak, but much better. And we are very thankful for all the purrs and prayers. In addition to the vestibular issue and ear infection, she also has hyperthyroidism so is now taking meds for that. She still needs a blood pressure check when we go for a recheck in 3-4 weeks. Her other blood work was good and her urine was too so that is all good news.

Prancie did write her poem today, but she is going to let Joanie deal with this post.

I iz Prancie’s nurse. When mom or dad can’t watch Prancie she is in this cage and I takes care of her. She sleeps in this too between my folks. They are afraid she will get hurt if she tries to jump down from somewhere.

Millie played a Halloween trick on mom, he hid a pumpkin. She heard a thump when they were watching tv and figured he knocked it down, but she couldn’t find it until the next morning. He had rolled it across the kitchen and under a chair that was in the corner.

We are joining Sammy’s Poetry Day featuring the letter U. Here is Prancie’s poem.

Unique
Just like people, us kitties are all unique
some of us are quiet and some like to speak.
Some of us eat too much, not me though
most of us enjoy looking out the window.
One thing about us that is the same
we love our human that gave us a name.

We are late with our Spark this week too. On Google, I found a photo of a caterpillar and a butterfly with the following quote: “Don’t Lose Hope.(You never know what tomorrow will bring).” Here are my photos that my hubby took this summer of a monarch emerging from a chrysalis.

And here are the fill-ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

1. My favorite part of November is ________________.

  1. Oh, good news. I’m so glad. What a cute post. You make me smile. And thanks for the kind word on my blog. I had a rip roaring start to NaNoWriMo with my biggest opening word count to date. It’s not all good, but the fun of writing fast and furious is to let things fly and tell the inner critic to go jump in the lake. ~grin~ Happy November!

    1. Thank you. We like making people smile 🙂 I hope the prolific writing continues, you can always edit later. Happy November!

  2. We’re very thankful that Prancie is doing so much better. 🙂

And we really liked her poem, your spark, and those photos your hubby took of that butterfly. WOW!

  3. Good news on Prancie…..sorry she has the hyperthyroid issue but it seems like it happens to SO MANY kitties when they get older. We send Prancie a hug and more POTP just in case she needs some! Love the photos of the Monarch emerging – my Mom says she starts out every day like an emerging butterfly – it’s a NEW START on a NEW DAY and she will try to make it the best one yet. Angel Sammy and I both love your poem today too!

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. Thank you. It is odd how many kitties get that- and I get the opposite. Your mom has the best way of thinking. XO

  4. You are all unique, and i’m glad you are being well cared for.

It’s true we can’t lose hope, i like your own pictures with the quote.

Thanks so much for the fill-ins, i will think about my answers while i work today.

  5. So glad Prancie is better. That is such good news. We sure send Prancie lots more purrs and prayers and lots of good thoughts. You all have a great day.

  6. “We love our human that gave us a name”… ♥ Your poem is beautiful with a bit of funny, Prancie. We know you don’t eat too much… Ha. So glad you are feeling better and your lab work came back good. Happy Joanie is taking good care of you. Millie probably couldn’t wait to hide that pumpkin and then forgot where he hid it! Always amazed by the transformation to butterfly and HOPE is big… most excellent Spark!

    1. Thank you 🙂 Prancie does eat like a piggy, but that is a good thing after what we went through with Phoebe.XO

  7. I am so happy that Prancie is much better already. I am also glad that, for the most part, her bloodwork and urinalysis came back normal. She’s certainly in good hands for her hyperthyroidism treatment. She’s so lucky to have you!

And what a fantastic poem! I also love the quote you picked, and the beautiful photos to go with it. Purrs and prayers to all of you!

  8. We are so glad that Prancie is doing some better, that’s the best news of the day. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  9. Nice to hear about Prancie’s improvement. I cannot face that it is November already. I have already heard Christmas music and seen Christmas trees in the stores!

    1. Thank you. I love Christmas music, but not until after Thanksgiving- one holiday at a time 🙂

  10. Ellen,

How cool to see a Monarch transform! Years ago in our homeschool, we kept a butterfly garden as part of an on-going Science lesson. The kids loved it but hated to set the butterflies free. I’ll see ya tomorrow!

    1. This was the first I had ever seen emerge. I look forward to your answers tomorrow.

  11. I’m glad you’re feeling better and I’m glad you have a nurse to attend to you. That’s a good thing.

I always love your poems. Today is not exception.

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your mom. ♥

    1. Thank you. She is eating a lot, she had lost weight even though she eats good, but a pill will get her back in order. XO and love to you too
