Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful the magnolia tree survived the snow last week.

Joanie and I are thankful we got to spend time with The Great One on Monday.

Today is S day in The A-Z Blogging Challenge. Smile is my word for S, although with masks it is impossible for anyone to tell you are smiling.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two. The linky stays open until Wednesday night.

  1. Beautiful Magnolia tree! I have found that when a person is truly smiling from deep within it shows in their eyes! 🙂 <3

  2. The magnolia is beautiful! If I am talking to someone I still smile even though they can’t see it. If it is genuine they can see it in your eyes though.

  3. Love magnolia trees – it’s one tree we DON’T have in our yard – maybe we’ll plant one! I can tell Joanie’s just thrilled with being able to play dress up with The Great One again………

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. Yes, you should plant one. Start with a big one because they take forever to grown, this one is 31. XO

  4. That magnolia sure is gorgeous! Mom says she loves it when dad genuinely smiles and she can see it in his eyes. They just got their first COVID shot, and one of the techs wore a mask with a cat’s smile on it.

    1. Thank you. SO glad they got their first shot. I wore my cat mask when I went for mine. 🙂 XO

  5. Joanie, you are adorable as a mermaid again! The Great One loves to dress you up and you are such a good girl!
    1. The Far Side is a non cat related blog I follow.
    2. My favorite place to shop online for doodads and gewgaws is Amazon It’s my only chance for finding odd things needed.
    3. Family matters have been keeping me busy lately.
    4. If I could go back in time, I would tell my younger self several things. The value of waiting, even if it’s difficult to do. Every decision you make, even as a very young person, is indelible in your life. Remember that. Indelible. Try to live without regret.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Very true about every decision. I love The Far Side cartoons. XO

  6. Ms. Ellen, that is a beautiful tree… is it good for climbing? It looks smaller than the big bay magnolias we have down here.

          1. Oh my goodness, I had no idea you were so restricted! Local laws keep us confined to the back yard, unless we’re on our harness/leash, which is why us cats are all proficient with those… and get peeved when the staff only take Saphera for a walk. Even the law enforcement has gotten used to seeing cats out for strolls, which is good because the first time an officer saw me and Saphera out for our evening stroll, he swerved over to the curb, stopped and asked our staff if they realized I was a cat. Of course they knew that! My staff is also smart enough to allow me to be myself.

  7. Joanie, I love your outfit. So glad the snow didn’t damage your tree. We got a bit of winter yesterday, but the snow melted quickly.

  8. Glad you got time with “The Great One” and that your Magnolia tree survived snow. We got Snow Wednesday & Thursday. Also, do me a favor & send purrs and prayers to Mom Crystal and her Dad that they don’t have this Covid virus. They’ve been really sick all week and just last night found out 2 people they had been exposed to has the virus but the one is in the hospital.
    Thanks and Purrs,
    Daisy Mae

  9. Yay for your beautiful tree.
Dang it was 62 here yesterday at wake up, today it was 33. Brrrrrr
Hopefully the last breath old man winter wants to blow this way
    Hugs Cecilia

  10. I’m glad you got to spend time with the great one. Did you get the messed all cleaned up yet?

Some people smiles reaches their eyes. It’s good when they do.

I’m all ready for the fill-ins. Great questions.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  11. Beautiful magnolia tree and adorable picture of Joanie! Glad you enjoyed your visit with “The Great One”! XO

    1. Thank you. Sure she can just start with a small one- they take forever to grow. We planted this one when we were dating in 1990. XO

  12. I love magnolia trees. Yours is gorgeous. And one of my favorite chick flicks of all time is “Steel Magnolias”. lol As for smiles, they show in the eyes and voice. Asian style emojis even focus on eyes over mouth. So do not fear that your kindness is lost. Be well, my dear.

  13. What a gorgeous magnolia tree! They do have them in the Okanagan and I did get to see some beautiful ones on Monday but none as nice as yours! We think Joanie looks terrific in the great-one’s dress up and we want to thank you for visiting! And all youd do! You Rock! We hope you, your hubby and all the cats have a marvellously happy day!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 We love that tree- we planted it when we were dating. Joanie thanks you. We hope you have a great day too. XO

  14. Joanie is adorable if not a very happy camper with her outfit ~ She is sweet! XX ~ Beautiful tree photo ~
