Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! We have a busy post today. First off , we are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop.My first thankful is the art-

  1. I won a necklace from Memorial Glass Pendants on Cat Chat with Caren and Cody quite a while ago. It is made with ashes of a beloved pet and I had planned to send a little of each of my angels, but Phoebe was so sick that I couldn’t bring myself to deal with it. After Phoebe passed away, I was too sad.Well, last week I finally sent some ashes for the necklace. I decided that Phoebe and Snowball were always together so I chose to have the necklace made with their ashes.

My photo doesn’t do the necklace justice. It is so beautiful and looks like stars in the sky.

2. I am thankful that the owner let me know when the ashes arrived and sent back the ones she didn’t use as well.

3. Hubby and I celebrated our 25th anniversary this week ( I guess that should be #1) .

4. A pizza party with the great one and my mom.

5. Made a cheesecloth ghost with the great one, she is finally at a good age to do some arts and crafts.

6. Mom and I spent the day at the casino on Thursday ( we go every year around her birthday).

7. I only lost $3 at the casino, the most I will part with is $20.

8. Black Cats Tell All came out this week and I am thankful Spooky’s story is part of it.To order click here

9. Thankful some of you plan to watch the movie I was in that Joanie told you about on Monday.

10. Thankful I was able to get Sammy’s vomit off my favorite black cat shirt. It was hanging off the bureau and he stood on the bureau and yacked over the edge.

Ten Things of Thankful

We are also joining Bacon’s Shopping Around the World which features pumpkin recipes this month.

Thank you Joanie, but I wanted canned pumpkin.

My recipe is for no bake pumpkin cheesecake, I make it every Thanksgiving.

1 8 ounce package cream cheese-softened

1 /2 cup sugar

1 cup canned pumpkin

dash cinnamon

1 graham cracker crust

Directions:

Mix together first 4 ingredients and pour into crust. Top with whipped cream when serving.

  12. The pendant is lovely and a wonderful idea, helping The Great One with arts and crafts sounds like so much fun, and what is it about cats and having to yak on our good stuff? Also, i don’t blame you about putting on a limit at a casino. No sense wasting money.

    Hugs mad and mom

  14. Watched “Victimized” today. I was watching it for you primarily. I think you had a bigger part in this one than the last one, and I liked you better in this one as well. You made it from beginning to end! Congrats on your prizes as well! Prizes always make you feel good.

    1. Thank you, I appreciate your watching the whole movie. And thanks for the compliment. I am proud of my work in this one, I like to make people laugh.

  15. The pendant is beautiful and such a wonderful idea. Congrats on 25 years of marriage! I hope your weekend is going great 🙂

  16. That is such a special pendant! We just love it. Mommy just copied and pasted your recipe because it sounds so yummy. . P.s….. you should check out our selfies today! *giggle*

  17. The pendant is a beautiful keepsake. I enjoyed all your thankfuls… even Sammy’s bit of an accident. I swear, they will always find something good to hork up on. I am glad it came out of your shirt. I think the pumpkin cheesecake sounds very good and would be fun to make today!

    1. Thank you, I love the necklace. I don’t know how cats manage to yak in the worst places. 🙂

  18. Ellen,

Nice list of thanksgivings! Congrats to you and the hubby for celebrating 25 years of togetherness! *applauds* I stopped in this morning for your “Sparks” post but noticed you’re dealing with a sick kitty. I will pray for your furbaby and trust all is well. You have a lot on your mind, so please no rush to visit. Sendng hugs and love your way!!

    1. Thank you for your kind words. I will posting about Prancie tomorrow, she is feeling better. XO and love to you.

  19. Cute cat pictures.

You have such a good control at the casino. I remembered, I felt bad when I lost 20 bucks at the slot machine. I was thinking, that could have been a nice dinner! I am cheap LOL.

  20. TBT here: I liked all the 10 Thankfuls, but #7 reminded me of being a teenager and visiting the local annual fair. I liked some rides, but heights bothered me (and still do). Most contests like ringtoss and ballon darts were rigged. Gambling was even worse.

But I could tell which were LEAST bad, and tried those at times. There was a 1-6 wheel that the carny spun, and if your quarter was on the number it stopped on, you got 2 quarters back. I knew enough math then to know it was a losing game in the long run, but a short run of luck was always possible. I woukld wait until enough players were there to cover all the numbers about equally. That way the carny guy couldn’t manipulate the wheel.

Like you, I set a specific amount. $1 of 4 quarters. If I won, I played again. If I got to $2 I stopped and walked away. If I lost the 4 quarters, I walked away. Gambling was mildly interesting, not never an addiction.

In college I played penny poker in complicated games for amusement. Chicago high/low was my favorite. The person with the best hand of 7 card stud and the person with the worst hand split the pot. I earned a free pizza every few weeks by becoming a specialist in “he worst hand”. Other players just couldn’t get used to deliberately being “worst”. LOL! Then a card shark joined the group and I left.

  21. That is a beau-ti-ful necklace, Miss Ellen. What a great way to memorialize Snowball & Phoebe! Mom saw the earlier post about you did about the necklaces, too.

I think Mom needs to make your cheesecake recipe. It sounds totally nom!

  22. Delicious cheesecake. This time of year is all about pumpkins and that’s great.

    Happy Anniversary to you both.
