Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art and Ten Things of Thankful Blog Hops. My art this week is my new crochet creation. I have been finding a lot of new patterns while searching for my A-Z ideas.

Crocheted vases are so easy and fun to make. Then I added pussy willows because they don’t need water. I gave these to my friend who runs the senior center in the next town. They will be centerpieces on the lunch tables and then can be given away.I have made some more too already for myself and family.

And here are my ten thankfuls.

1,2) Hubby and I had our annual dermatologist appointment and all is well. I love going together so I can point to everything I want checked. The dermatologist said, “wives save lives.”

3) Lunch out with the hubby after our appointment.

4) My mom stayed with the cats while we were out and catered to their every whim.

5,6) Coffee with a friend and her adult daughter had time to come too. We always have fun.

7) Time spent with my mom and “The Great One”. Even though whenever I sing, she says not to and cries if I won’t stop- I guess my college choir teacher was doing everyone a favor when she told me to mouth the words.

8) No power outage for this past storm.

9) Thankful that my hubby plows our yard so I only have a little shoveling to do.We got 10 inches on Thursday.

10) The library finally got some books in for me, I have been cutting into my emergency stash of about 40 books.

  1. Emergency stash of 40 books! I love it!
I don’t think we got a total of 10 inches of snow all winter. I am glad the power lines didn’t come down right along with all that beautiful white stuff.

  2. I just love your crocheted vases! Art in this form is so beautiful, and I think it makes the best type of home decor. And, as always, I just love reading your Thankfuls. I have an entire bookshelf full of books I have not yet read, and that’s my emergency stash. I can’t wait to hear about what you’ve been reading lately! Have a lovely day!

  3. Ellen those vases are absolutely adorable and I love the pussy willows in them…..such HAPPY plants they are and they look cute in the vases. You are just so clever. Sounds like you got your library books just in time – when you are down to your last 40 books you need a “book fix” !!! LOL

    Love and Happy Saturday, Pam

  4. Your vases are so cute, and I love the pussy willows! I love that you have an emergency book stash too. I have a “when I get time to read them” stash. 🙂

  5. Your vases are so pretty! That’s a wonderful list, i am especially glad you and your husband got that check from the dermatologist. So often we neglect our health until it is way too late.

You have my sympathy on the singing thing. Sweetie is in the church choir and i help them by not singing!

  6. You have such a generous soul. Thank you for being you!

I was disappointed on our last visit to a local dermatologist we’ve always liked. No longer on our insurance plan, they told us when I made the joint appointment we had to pay $150 a person up front and would be billed any overage. Well, we have a health savings account, so we agreed. Then we got another huge bill. It turns out that down payment didn’t cover the doctor’s visit. And then they wouldn’t let us be seen together. Grrr… Don’t know what we’ll do next year.

Glad you’re staying up on your health as well as the fur kids. ~grin~ Hope you’re having a great day!

    1. Thank you, you are so sweet. I am sorry you had a bad time at the dermatologist. That stinks that you couldn’t be seen together, I think it actually saves them time. I hope you find a new place before next year.Have a great weekend!XO

  7. Those are pawsome. Your list is great! Mom always went to all Dad’s appointments since she said he had “selective hearing” for things like that.

  8. Oh, we love the vases and the pussy willows! Mommy wants one (lol). Mommy has a dermatologist appointment the end of the month. She has about 1000 or so emergency books on her Kindle.
Wow, all that snow! It never snows here. The low tomorrow night will be 55.
That was a great “thankful” list.

  9. I love the crocheted vases and an emergency stash of 40 books – you must love to read! An awesome list, my friend.

  10. I, too, was required to “mouth the words” in choir and chorus. But in my heart and mind I sing like a nightingale. The crocheted vases are adorable. I am looking forward to your A-Z. Have a good week.

    1. Glad I am not the only one told to mouth the words.I hope you have a great week too. I am glad you like the vases.

  11. I always enjoy reading your thankful posts. You do have a very good life.

Have a fabulous weekend. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  12. The vases are darling! I am glad you kept power. Not believing all the wintry weather you are getting but you are up in wintry weather land! Lunch with hubby, always a thankful! Cats had Grammie time… yay! Hugs!

    1. Thank you 🙂 We have more snow expected on Tuesday. The cats love their Grammie. XO

  13. Your vases are lovely and so versatile. Bet the senior center loved them too.

Not losing power is a wonderful reason to be thankful. We feel badly for the many who are still without it.

  14. We love those crocheted vases. Those are the best. What a good idea. We also like all your thankful things. There is always something to be thankful for. You all have a super week end.

  15. HI ELLEN! WOW, I see you’re a crocheter just like me! Woo Hoo! I love to crochet. Right now I’m making a bed apron for my nephew and his fiancé for their wedding. I hope I can finish it on time. Thanks for sharing and hope to see you on Monday at Monday’s Music Moves Me! Have a great weekend! hugs

    1. Thank you. I love to crochet, but I never make anything that big- I am too impatient. I have my mewsic all set for Monday 🙂

  16. You are so creative, miss Ellen. We love the vases and the colors too 🙂 Great Thankful things. What a relieve that your hubby is fine 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend 🙂 <3

  17. Sounds like you have lots to be thankful for! 10 inches of snow!! I am so over winter, we’ve hardly had any snow and if it’s not going to snow, just be cold, then I don’t want any part of it!

  18. Those vases are so cute! Seeing pussy willows always reminds me of my childhood, when we used to go collect them all the time.

  19. How fun those crochet vases are! I need to dig out my yarn and start crocheting something! Of course, it’s only been just over a year! ?
    Lovely list of thankfulness! ?
    Have a wonderful weekend!!

    1. These are really fast and easy 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful weekend too.

  20. (1&2) good to have that (kind of thing) over and done with… for now. A necessary inconvenience for many of us. Sounds like a non-eventful visit (the best kind).
We did lose power last weekend. Didn’t get much snow from the second storm in the middle of the week. (Had a loss of power, but fortunately only for the night).
Spring can’t get here soon enough!
