Purrball Meets Burrball in Brazil

Hi everyone! I have an adorable children’s book to tell you about today. Purrball Meets Burrball in Brazil by Anne Zoet is the sweetest children’s picture book I have seen in a long time. The illustrations are adorable and I love that Purrball is blue. dscf2581-2

Purrball’s family ( a Mom, Dad and little boy named Darryl) are moving to Brazil for a year. When they arrive at the airport, there is an earthquake and Purrball runs away. He ends up in the jungle and befriends a sloth he names Burrball.

I like how modern the story is which includes a cell phone. I also like how they keep Purrball in the plane with them instead of in cargo. I look forward to more books about the adventures of Purrball and Burrball. You can even go to their website purrballandburrball.com and download puzzles and mazes for children. This book is for ages 3-9, but I am going to start reading it to “The Great One” now even though she is only 10 months old. I guess I will have to wait a while for her to do the puzzles though 🙂

You can order your own copy from Amazon.

*Disclaimer: I was given a copy of Purrball Meets Burrball for free in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are my own.

We don’t want to miss Book Date’s  It’s Monday! What are YOU Reading?

dscf2541 I just finished This Star Won’t Burn Out by Esther Earl. Esther was 12 when diagnosed with a rare thyroid cancer. She survived for 4 and a half years with experimental treatments. She spent most of her time at home where she reached out on the internet and made friends all over the world that were Harry Potter Fans like she was. Despite being so sick, she still managed to live and was very close with her parents, 4 siblings and 2 cats ( Blueberry and Pancake). Her positive attitude and belief in God through everything left me in awe of her.

The way I found this book was odd. It is in the young adult section in Barnes and Noble. I went down that aisle on my way top the bathroom and her sweet face on the cover caught my eye. I believe I was meant to read her story and spread the word about it. I recommend this book to everyone, I will warn you to have your tissues ready toward the end.

We hope our pirates are Awwwww…….worthy for Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays blog hop.

And the question for P.S.Annie’s 19-Somethin Challenge is : Did you have a favorite car?I didn’t have a certain car I wanted, but I loved my grandfather’s old blue Gremlin that was my first car.

Who is Elmo?

Hi everyone! I have a question- who is Elmo? Every time my Mom comes home from babysitting “The Great One”, she keeps singing Elmo’s Got the Moves. What kind of moves? Very confusing.

I haven’t seen Grammie again since Wednesday. I hope I see her soon, I love her so very much. I am enjoying my treats though, Mom gives me some every time she stuffs a pill down my throat and blows in my face- that is kind of rude, the blowing in my face part, not the treat part.dscf2530-2

Tomorrow is Meow Like a Pirate Day, we are all being difficult with the photo shoots except for suck up Brody.dscf2536-2

The question for P.S. Annie’s 19-Somethin challenge today is Did you like to roller skate? My Mom did like to roller skate and there was a small roller rink right down the street that was open on Saturday nights. She used to skate outside too. FYI she can’t ice skate though.

Saturday Fun

Hi everyone! This week for Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop we made a meme. Our friend Savannah is looking for memes for her blog on Friday. Yesterday, she featured one of Joanie’s memes-click here to see it.

You can make memes on several editing sites. We went to the I Can Haz Cheezburger site to make this one of Sammy.

You should give it a try and send them to Savvy.

We also want to tell you about our friend, Billy the Time Cat. He is sending his famous scarf out for anyone to try. You don’t have to have a blog, you can show your photo on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. Click here to learn more about how to join in the fun.

And the question for P.S. Annie’s 19-Somethin Challenge is Do you Remember where you were when the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded? I am ashamed to say that I haven’t a clue.

Phoebe will see you tomorrow.

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 19

Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I am letting Phoebe answer too being that she had such a rough week. Be sure to add you link on McGuffy’s Reader.

1. Something healthy I do daily is ________________________.
2, Something unhealthy I do daily is ____________________________.
3. This Summer,                                         .

4. This Autumn,                                          .
Our answers, Phoebe’s are in parentheses:
1. Something healthy I do daily is DRINK LOTS OF WATER and SPEND TIME WITH MY KITTIES. ( Exercise on my pole)
2. Something unhealthy I do daily is EAT JUNK FOOD LIKE CHIPS AND MILK CHOCOLATE. ( Eat too much party mix).

And for P.S. Annie’s 19-Somethin Blog Hop the question is: Who was your favorite tv character? And who did you like the least?
I had a big crush on Rocky Schroder so I loved him on Silver Spoons, I also liked Alex Keaton ( Michael J. Fox) on Family Ties. I didn’t like the shows like Dallas or Dynasty.

Ode to Nicolas Cage

dscf2476 Hi everyone! I am having a bad week. You know how Mom took Noel to the vet, but I hid my card so I wouldn’t have to go? Turns out the rotten sneaky veterinarian sends email reminders too. I had to go with them and they stole some of my blood. I have lost a pound in 6 months, I am a svelte 7.15 pounds. My thyroid is hyper so I need to take medicine for it like Millie and Polar Bear- good luck getting me to do that.

Grammie felt bad for me so she bought me my very own bag small bag of party mix that I don’t have to share. I love my Grammie so very much.

Today is Sammy’s Poetry Day featuring the letter N so I thought I would write a poem about Mom’s favorite actor.

Mom’s favorite actor is Nicolas Cage
She has liked him since she was 17 years of age.
All his movies she has seen
they lift her up like caffeine
Nic has been in a lot of flops
he has even played a few cops.
To meet him is the only thing on her bucket list
she just wants a photo. not a tryst.

POETRYSAMBADGE

And the winner of my piorate giveaway is Laila and Minchie– congratulations! I can’t wait to see you both dressed as pirates.

dscf2519

And for P.S. Annie’s 19-Somethin’ Challenge, the question is: Did you get into MTV? If not, what was your favorite music-based tv program? My Mom watched MTV from the start and she loved Solid Gold too. She used to want to be a Solid Gold dancer- MOL!

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow, we hope you will all join. Mom came up with the first 2 and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2.

1. Something healthy I do daily is ________________________.

3. This Summer,                                         .

4. This Autumn,                                          .

Phoebe Tuesday

Hi everyone! I thought you might want to see my beautiful tummy on a Tuesday.

dscf2498 My Kingdom is crumbling. Look at this photo of Brody and a traitor Snowball.dscf2513See if I help her with baths anymore- phooey!

I am going to see Grammie on Wednesday, I love her so very much.

Penny wanted to say hi to Toby, but she was a little sleepy. dscf2520-2

Does anyone need an outfit for Meow Like a Pirate Day? dscf2519 I am going to have a giveaway- there is a red bandana, eye patch. gold earring and a mini sword. If you want to enter just say so in the comments. I will announce the winner on Thursday. I will have Mom add some crocheted toys too.

The question today for P.S. Annie’s 19-Something Blog Hop is: Did any of the men in your family have big sideburns? And the answer is no, the only 2 men were her Dad who had a receding hairline and her Grampa was bald.

Poor Noel has to get her rabies shot today ( every 3 years). I sure am glad that I hid that little card that came in the mail saying I was due for a 6 month senior checkup.

Mondays Are Good For Hopping

Hi everyone! Sorry if I squeeze so many hops into one post, but I love to hop and don’t want to miss any. Today we are joining one that I have only hopped in once before. Create with Joy’s Inspire me Monday is filled with great recipes and craft ideas. I thought it would be a great place to share button art.

DSCF2425DSCF2070  Inspire Me Monday at Create With Joy

Some of these are on canvas, but I also used blank cards for some too. This is a fun way to make Halloween cards. I drew a ghost on the black cards with chalk and then covered it over with white buttons and some pearls. For the pumpkins, I traced a circle on a white card and glued orange buttons over it. I didn’t have green buttons so I used turquoise.

This photo of Joanie with my books of the week is for Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

I actually read 2 books about cats this week. One was awful , A Cat Called Hope by Oliver Clarke. I thought it was a true rescue story, but it was fiction about a man who abuses his family and the cat. I am glad it wasn’t a true story, but I found the descriptions disturbing and I am sure similar things do happen.

Peter The White Cat of Trenarren by Alfred Lestie Rowe published in 1974 is a great book that the author wrote about a beloved cat he had back in the 1950’s. Finding books like this are why I go to book sales.

One more book worth telling you about doesn’t include a cat, but it really makes one think. Unfinished Business by Lee Kravitz is about the author trying to right any wrongs of his past. At the end of the book is a toolkit to help you identify and unfinished business you may have. I just finished the book and I plan to use the toolkit.

And last, but not least is P.S.Annie’s 19-Somethin. The question of the day is When did you have your first microwave in your home and were you afraid it would make you sick?I don’t remember the exact year we got a microwave, but I know it was the early 1980’s and I was not afraid of it.

Thank you for reading all this.

Sunday Selfies with a Guest

Hi everyone, before I get started I want to do a moment of silence for the one year anniversary of Lucy leaving us. 009 We all miss her.

And it has been 15 years since 9/11twin towers

Today is Grandparent’s Day too and I want to wish my Grammie a Happy Grandparent’s Day! I love her so very, very much!

Phoebecard

I want to thank all of you for harassing Mom about the treats, she changed her mind. She did say we should have a little less every day though- phooey!

We are joining The Cat on My Head Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.

DSCF2491 (2)This is our guest selfie. A praying mantis that was on the string beans. Dad left it so it would eat bugs. He/she even looked right at the camera.

And for P.S. Annie’s 19-Somethin Challenge the question is: What was your favorite music genre and what format did you listen to it ?

Would you believe my Mom used to listen to Motley Crue and Ratt? And Prince and Michael Jackson. She had some on albums and some on cassettes. Now she prefers Sinatra on CD.http://ps-annie.blogspot.com/p/september-19-somethin-challenge.html

Another Hopping Saturday

Hi everyone! It is Saturday so we are hopping. For Athena’ s Caturday Art Bog Hop, Millie decided to get an early start to Talk Like a Pirate Day ( 9/19). We found this background on picjoke.net after several attempts on other editing sites failed. None would recognize his face to make him into a pirate.

pirateCaturday Art

For P.S. Annie’s 19-Somethin Challenge the question is: What fashion did you like the most and the least from your younger years? I was a kid in the 1970’s so I didn’t think about fashion so I will go with the 1980’s. Shoulder pads, acid washed jeans and parachute pants- yuck!!!! I liked the Flashdance ripped sweatshirts and leg warmers.
