dscf2476 Hi everyone! I am having a bad week. You know how Mom took Noel to the vet, but I hid my card so I wouldn’t have to go? Turns out the rotten sneaky veterinarian sends email reminders too. I had to go with them and they stole some of my blood. I have lost a pound in 6 months, I am a svelte 7.15 pounds. My thyroid is hyper so I need to take medicine for it like Millie and Polar Bear- good luck getting me to do that.

Grammie felt bad for me so she bought me my very own bag small bag of party mix that I don’t have to share. I love my Grammie so very much.

Today is Sammy’s Poetry Day featuring the letter N so I thought I would write a poem about Mom’s favorite actor.

Mom’s favorite actor is Nicolas Cage
She has liked him since she was 17 years of age.
All his movies she has seen
they lift her up like caffeine
Nic has been in a lot of flops
he has even played a few cops.
To meet him is the only thing on her bucket list
she just wants a photo. not a tryst.

  1. Wow, Phoebe! We hope the medicine will help you stay healthy. We had a kitty here years and years ago and he was a real skinny mancat. Yikes. Too much thyroid can make other parts of you go all funky too…esp your heart.

    That is a fun poem:)

    Nice that you get your own treats…you can have them after you take your meds like a bribe…MOL!

    We didn’t ever watch MTV, though apparently is was/is in our lineup. We do not care for that kind of music…we are classical fans…think Beethoven and suchlike. We think the music we would see on the TV was on PBS.

    2, Something unhealthy I do daily is eat too much ice cream. (When I am at work before I go home…)
    3. This Summer, we had quite a dry spell but now its very green again. .

    4. This Autumn, we plan to build a shed so we can put our new snowthrower in there…when we get it. Watch, there will hardly be any snow this winter because we will prepared, MOL!

    Concats to the pirate winners..we hope they will show off their gear and be really piratey! Avast! .

    1. Thank you for your answers. I have been having too much ice cream this summer too, but I haven’t had any in 2 weeks now. That is usually how it works when you prepare, but that would be OK with no snow. 🙂

    My human used to like Nicholas Cage, but it must have been some sort of phase because she isn’t really into him anymore.

  4. Sorry you had to go to the vet Phoebe! It’s a place few of us enjoy!! Mom likes your poem – she’s seen Nic Cage is most of his movies – she’s likes his quirkiness and voice. Good Friday Fill-ins – now – who will answer them?

    1. I have to go back in 2 weeks for a weigh in and to give blood and again 2 weeks later- phooey!

  9. Those vet people are sneaky, Phoebe. Somehow they never let our humans forget about taking us to see them. We’re glad you’re doing okay and we hope the medicine helps you. We know those treats will make you feel better! 🙂 That was a cool poem about Nicholas Cage.

  11. Phoebe, will they give back the bloods that they stole from you? I offer my suggestion to your mom to get pill paste to wrap your prescription in; works for my crew!
    1. Something healthy I do daily is power walk for at least 30 minutes.
    2, Something unhealthy I do daily is worry about my outside kitties due to coming cold weather.
    3. This Summer, I took not one but two vacations!.
    4. This Autumn, I plan to take another vacation.

    Our humans love Nicholas Cage too. They never tire of watching his National Treasures movie. They even had movie night with friends at home and shown National Treasure.

  26. I’ve enjoyed Nic Cage’s acting, and like him a lot, but his behavior in the last few years has left me confused.

    Poor Phoebe, this isn’t going to be fun for her is it?

  29. So sorry you had to go to the mean vet. I hate going there too. But we hope your thyroid can be managed with medication and you’ll stop losing weight.

  30. You sound like Sweetie Pie, the cat that stayed at the shelter her whole life because she had a bad heart condition and wouldn’t take her medicine. Even when caretakers thought she had taken it, she would hide it in her cheek and then rub her mouth against the wall until she could wipe most of it out of her mouth! Do your Mama a favor and don’t do that. Take your medicine so you will stay healthy and well.

  34. Benny is now hyperthyroid too–and goes back on the 21st for blood work. He didn’t get his own bag of treats like you did though–lucky!
