Hi everyone! Today is Mardi Gras so several of my kitties have agreed to pose with beads. First though, Joanie wants to tell you about her new food. I know dry food is not recommended, but that is all Joanie can eat. She has yacked up every canned food I tried on her and she tends to eat the dry too fast and yack that up too. When my friend told me about PawTree and sent me a sample for Joanie I was thrilled.
*Disclosure: I was sent a sample of PawTree Real Chicken Recipe for cats. I was not asked to do a review, but I am choosing to. All opinions are my own.
As you can see in the photo, the pieces are small. She usually eats out of a bowl, but I thought it would be easier to see the food this way. It is made in the USA. No corn, wheat or soy. You can check out all the facts by clicking here. The link goes directly to my friend’s PawTree page so she can get a commission on sales. They have several other flavors too and canned food which I will be ordering for Joanie to test soon. Joanie has been eating this for a few weeks and so far, no yacking- knock on wood , 3 times. My only complaint is shipping costs, but Joanie is worth it. Now on to the beads!
Joanie and Gremmie
Who wore them best? No one can top Angel Lucy from 2015. She earned her beads.
Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.
1. If it wasn’t for ___________________, I ___________________.
2. ____________________ before ________________________.
3. _________ is my preferred method of communication.
4. You can’t buy _________.
1. If it wasn’t for Stacia, I wouldn’t have met my hubby. She was a friend of a friend who was dating my hubby’s friend and thought we would be a good match-and she was correct. Eventually we also became actual friends not just acquaintances and I will forever be grateful to her.
2. I had several house rabbits before I became a crazy cat lady.
3. Writing is my preferred method of communication. I prefer email to the telephone. I like to be able to put some thought into my words.
4. You can’t buy willpower. I wish you could because I have none around food.I know some may say you can’t buy love, but you can- at a shelter for the price of an adoption fee.
I immediately thought of Moon Shadow. I remember Mandy Moore singing it on This is Us so I looked for a video, unfortunately it only shows her signing for the last 30 seconds of the clip, but fans of the show will enjoy the whole thing.
And here is a video of her singing the entire song-
Thanks A Thousand : A Gratitude Journey by A.J.Jacobs is a short book with only about 100 pages to read and several pages of credits at the end. I am a fan of the author’s work and how he immerses himself in a subject. This time he wants to thank everyone that makes his morning cup of coffee possible. Amazingly, that is around 1,000 people. I never put that much thought into all that is involved in buying a cup of coffee. He even goes to the place where the beans were sourced from. Others thanked including the inventor of the plastic top on to-go cups, truck drivers, the barista and so many more. An interesting little read.
Born to Be Posthumous: The Eccentric Life and Mysterious Genius of Edward Gorey by Mark Dery is one i just started reading. I am not familiar with his work, but he was an illustrator and writer. I decided to read it because he had 6 cats so I immediately decided he was wonderful. He also owned 20,000 books. Sounds like a cool guy.
And in other news, Gremmie got some new clothes.
I bought this garland on clearance at Michael’s and pulled the clothes off for him. The doubles will go to The Great One for her dolls.
Joanie is thankful for her Gremmie. Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head are going to watch him today. Joanie is going for a dental and to have two little spots removed. A few years ago, she had a mast cell tumor on her face that I had removed. These look similar so I want them off too. If you could spare a prayer and some purrs it would be greatly appreciated.
And we are thankful to Teddy’s mom who comes up with the best photo prompts for Sammy’s Poetry Day .
Years ago woman went here once a week,
a little gossip they would seek.
A place to get away
while the kids went out to play.
Hair styled like a beehive,
this was before the invention of a hard drive.
Then lots of hairspray so it would hold,
it was a sight to behold.
That made the look complete,
but it is why the ozone is deplete.
This photo reminded me of my Mom’s beehive hairstyle in the 1970’s. I loved it- I could spot her anywhere. She actually still goes to the hairdresser weekly, but not for a beehive. 🙂 I always tease her about hairspray depleting the ozone, although the kind they make now is completely useless so I doubt it is doing environmental harm.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
