Penny’s Tips Volume 78

Hi everyone! I am still feeling crafty so I thought I would show you an easy fall project.

Mom made some like this a few years ago, but I just made these- well, she helped me a little.

You just take an old book ( not one about cats) and cut it into half an apple shape. Then you spread it out into an apple shape. You will need some glue to get it to stay as an apple.

Then you spray paint them red. Mom used regular brown paint at the top for a stem. And there was one she added a twig for a stem. Then add a ribbon.

These would make a great gift for Rosh Hashanah which begins Friday at dusk.

How do you like them apples?

Mom also made a black cat. She plans to add real whiskers as she finds them on the furniture. I will be sleeping with one eye open just in case she wants to steal any of mine.

  3. It might work here with ancient confuser books…aka computer manuals. Pawppy guards all the books here with his life, we think, MOL!

Love that kitty! And Penny, I do not think you mom is going to steal any of your whiskers…ever. She just picks up the ones you and your furblings discard. *she* does that too, and she adds them onto a woolen stuffed kitty…it has way too many whiskers by now, she needs to start a new one:)

  4. I remember when your mom made them before. Such a clever idea! The black cat is cute.

  5. Hey that’s very cool that you made an apple and a cat! We have our pumpkin you made for us and it comes out at Halloween!!!!

    Hugs, Teddy and Mom

  6. Old textbooks would be ideal for this, since no one knows what to do with them but really hates to toss them away!
I have a stash of spent cat whiskers, but you cannot use any of them!

  7. Oh how fun. I always enjoy Penny’s tips. I learn so much.
