Penny’s Tips Volume 27

Hi everyone! I am being difficult for mom, she wants me to pose, but I am sick of having my posts bumped.

I do have a tip for you though. You should always check for wheat pennies whenever you get change. The front is the same, but the backs have wheat stalks on the sides.  Did you know they are all worth more than 1 cent? They were made from 1909-1958. To see a chart with the value of each year, click here.

I have a 1957 one here, sorry for the bad photo.

It is worth 8 cents, I know that doesn’t sound like much, but it is worth 8 times the face value.

Before I go, I want to correct something. When mom wrote that Prancie’s Prayer is a bestseller for the publisher yesterday it just means for Mirror Publishing which is good, but nothing like a real bestseller on Amazon.  I bet if she wrote a book about me it would be a true bestseller.

  1. I’ve seen a couple of these during my lifetime. Penny, we all kind of know how your story ends … peeing in your favorite box 😉 Then again, if you found the right box, you might not.

    1. So far, I have not found the right one. Maybe we could have a story like Goldilocks with the boxes 🙂

  2. Your Mom should write a book about each and every one of you! Prancie’s Prayer is super but all of you have a unique story and your Mom could tell it for you – just imagine a whole house full of STARS!!!!

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. My comment is bouncing around the internet… didn’t make it here! I just mentioned that my Mom collected wheat pennies and that yep, we should all check our pennies. But, honestly I don’t ever have any change or cash on me because I use my credit card for all! CH has some change in the door of the car.

  4. Another great Penny Tip. Mom always picks up pennies she spots on the ground. We will tell her to start checking for those wheat pennies. A lot of pennies can add up to a lot of treats:)

  5. We have a bunch of wheat pennies. Now I need to get them out and check that chart to see if I have any worth a lot!

  6. Hello and happy Tuesday, Penny! This is a wonderful tip. I’ve seen these wheat pennies, but now I know I need to pay more attention to them. And we would happily read a book about you, Penny!

  7. I didn’t know that about the “wheat penny”! I’ll be looking for them now. Very interesting. And, I’m happy your post was not bumped today.

  8. I think hubby is on the lookout for those pennies. He checks them all. I never do.

I’m sorry you’r always getting bumped. If you complain louder she may make amends.

Have a purrfect Happy Tuesday. My best to your hard working mom. ♥

  9. Thanks for the tip. Now we will be on the lookout for them. Your mom must feel great that her book is doing so well. Hopefully, it will be in Amazon’s top best sellers. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful rest of your week.

  10. Penny, you are resourcefully armed with good advice, but you may discover that not everyone is looking for that advice, just as not everyone collects pre-1958 pennies. I love and respect you, even if sometimes I’m one of those people. ?❤

  13. Penny it is very smart for you to keep up with all things penny. We are wondering if you could buy anything for 8 cents? If you find you can, let us know. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  14. Penny, if you were the star of a book it would be a best seller! No doubt.
I didn’t know that about wheat pennies. I will have to be on the look out.
