Penny’s Tips Volume 152

Hi everyone! Sorry I am a week late, but as you know, my assistant is very sick. Thank you for all the purrs, prayers and donations for Elvira. She is still acting like her normal self despite the oozing tumor and additional tumors. Her recheck is Thursday so mom will provide an update on Friday’s post.

Sorry I am hiding in the cat tree. It has been very windy lately.

So we have a couple holidays coming up soon. I don’t have a lot of St. Patrick’s Day tips for you. My folks don’t even do corned beef. Mom thinks serving Lucky Charms for breakfast is celebrating. I did find you some free shamrock coloring pages at Everfreecoloring. Click here.

I have some money saving Easter tips, but they aren’t going to help you this year.

Just like with Christmas wrapping paper and bows, it is best to shop the day after to score deals on Easter baskets and plastic eggs.

Mom bought some giant eggs for The Boy. He is only  16 months old so he can’t have anything too small. Mom got him socks, some kind of baby snack and a wooden car. Don’t worry, she just bought the snack, that is not from last year.

Mom did splurge on these stuffed peeps that come with a package of peeps for $5 at 5Below.  Last week when the girls were here, they were putting some poor peeps in the microwave to watch them swell up. I hope they don’t try that with the stuffed ones.

I found you an Easter themed cozy mystery for free on Kindle. The Chocolate Easter Baking Challenge: Book Seven The Seaside Cove Cozy Mysteries by M’Lissa Moorecroft. Click here.

And for any crochet lovers, I found a free book of Easter patterns, Easter Projects Crochet Book by Nicole Connolly. Click here.

  1. More prayers for Elvira. She remains on my daily prayer list.

I love Easter. Just fun. Now I want peeps.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties and prayers for Elvira. xo ♥

  2. Good to see you any time, Penny, and you look so cute in your tree! Cool holiday stuff! Love the big eggs for the little guy! More purrs for Elvira! XO

    1. Thank you. I bet the big eggs would be fun to bat around. We have a lot of small one. XO

  3. I am praying for Elvira.
I believe that American corned beef is quite different to UK corned beef which I detest. I have never tried American and may like that.

  4. My Mom and Dad are going to the neighbors for St. Pat’s dinner so I’ll be on my own at home. We are ALL praying for Elvira – it just sounds so uncomfortable for her. Easter seems far away BUT Mom and Dad do color Easter eggs every year (still!) for the Easter Bunny to hide and for Dad to find inside the house. You have to wonder if an almost 80 year old guy REALLY thinks the Bunny came to visit and leave eggs for him?????????????????

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. That sounds like fun. Thank you for the prayers for Elvira. I bet he still believes. 🙂 XO

  5. Dear Penny , I’ll certainly be checking into the crochet book because that is what I do. I’ll probably skip the candy because it would just mean two people in this house eat way too much. However I like this stuffed ones because I like the bunny rabbits. We love you Elvira and we hope that she is feeling okay for now.

    1. My mom crochets too, but only small things that take about 20 minutes. XO

  6. Penny, you beautiful girl! I like everything you found for us!!! And Elvira isn’t far from our minds here. WE are purring and praying for her. Um, I think Peeps can stay out of the microwave here. Rather eat ’em.

  10. The stuffed peeps are beyond cute. I might have to look for those but I am betting they are a hot item. We have a 5Below 10 minutes from our house. Poor peeps in the microwave.

    1. I hope you can get one. You can check the store stock before you go there. You can even order online and just pick it up in store, that is what I did. XO

  15. WOW so many wonderful comments. YOU NEVER have to respond to ours. Save yourself the effort and time and have fun with your kitties and darling nieces. SO glad you bought the BOY a fresh treat, haha, not a year old….Thank you for your friendship and we hope so much that Elvira will have some painfree days for awhile.

    1. You are too sweet. I will always respond to your comments. I think if someone takes the time to comment, they deserve a response. 🙂 XO

  16. Charlee: “Around here, our Dada celebrates St. Patrick’s Day by wearing green (if he remembers) and he celebrates Easter by eating Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs (if somebody else buys them).”
Chaplin: “Whoa, Dada! Don’t hurt yourself generating all that Irish and Easter spirit!”
Charlee: “We cats keep up the purrs for Elvira!”
Java Bean: “And we dogs keep up the tail wags!”
