Penny’s Tips Volume 128

Hi everyone! What a week it has been.  Drake bit mom.  He was fighting with Brody so mom picked him up to give him a time out in the bathroom and he bit her. My tip for you all is to never try to pick up a cat who is in fight mode.  There was a lot of blood, but she is fine.

Then one of the ferals yacked up a worm. Mom had de-wormed them all last year, but apparently they still have some. Mom and Dad shut the door to their room and tried to catch each one. Ethel still needs her treatment. And they are definitely still feral. Mom is trying to figure out how she is going to get them for their rabies’ shots. There are no longer any vets around here that go to the home.

Mom is mad at me, she called me a fibber. I told her to go in the living room and she could get in a photo with Nickeless Cage.

I am not a fibber, this cage is mostly made a plastic- no nickel.

Well, I am off to hide as The Great One is going to be here soon. Mom and her are going to make tie- dyed pillow cases. I don’t want them to get any on me so I am out of here.  One more thing-this October, The Great One and Typhoid Mary are going to have a baby brother.  That is all I have for family gossip this week.

  1. Rosie the expression on your face is priceless! I’m glad to hear your mom is ok! You make sure you give her the extra love and care she needs! 🙂 <3

  2. Yikes, what a week, Penny! I’m glad your Mom is okay, but maybe she should check with a doc to make sure? That is some exciting family news! XO

  3. Never pick up a cat in fight mode is right. My younger sister when were kids thought she was helping the cat picking it up nope it walked up over her face. It wasn’t obvious cat was in fight mode. go to just be careful

  4. I also got an unexpected bite from an overstimulated cat. But that’s where the similarities stop. No babies expected here! Ha, ha! Congratulations to the family!

  5. Lots of goodies to report about, Rosie. I do hope your Mom/s hand won’t get infected, cat bites can be dangerous.

You should have saved that cute joke you played on your Mom until Aprils Fools Day! That was a good one!

Sorry your ferals are wormy again…what a drag that is.

Congrats to the family on their expected addition! Another artist to train:)

  6. Oh, wow, I hope your mama is okay and doesn’t get infected!!! Yes, best to stay out of disputes! And LOVE Nikeless Cage, hilarious!!! And life must be pretty raucous with those two little anthros in the house. And a new BRO, WOW. Yet another terror to add to the kitty bunch. But at least he’ll be dormant for a few months, haha.

  7. I hope your mom’s bite heals okay and doesn’t get infected. Do Brody and Drake fight often? I used to have three black brothers and every so often they would all pile in with fur flying and a lot of screaming. Five minutes later they would be in a nap pile as if nothing had happened!
That is exciting news about the October arrival.

    1. I am healing. Yes, they fight often and Drake picks fights with Trouble too. He is a bit of a jerk. XO

  8. Uhoh……worms are no good and biting Mom is no good. The only GOOD thing of course is that there’s going to be a new boy in town in October! Can’t wait to see what your nickname for the new arrival will be as brother to Typhoid Mary and THE GREAT ONE! Tee Hee

    Hugs, Teddy

  9. OH man, DRAKE! Calm down for pete sake! Brody, you too.And Mm Ellen, please drop by the doctor’s. Let him give you a tetnus shot. A new baby brother? I can’t wait!!!

    1. Brody is fine, it is all Brody. I am healing, no dr needed, but thanks for caring. XO

  10. Oh My! Congratulations on a new baby brother on the way for TGO and TM!!! Ellen, I am not going to tell you to watch for infection because you already know. I found myself in the hospital with a bite from one of our cats years ago… hooked up to an IV full of antibiotics. Rosie thanks for the gossip and the tips and the funny joke about the cage and Nick-less cage… LOL!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 That must have been an awful bite. I had to get antibiotics a few yrs ago when Polar Bear bit me, but not IV ones. XO

      1. It was my first cat bite and I had no idea it was that bad until I had a regular scheduled appt with a Dr. and he happened to notice it. It was my pointing finger and it was angry red with the red and swelling heading up my arm. The Dr. made me go to the emergency room to report the bite even though it was our cat. Sleepy had to quarantine for two weeks at home.

  11. Oh, oh! Bites are not cool! I hope you’re okay. My hubby got bitten by Callie (a nasty bite), and we dabbed it with peroxide and than applied Neosporin. It’s pretty much gone now but took a while.

  12. Some bad news, some good news! Hope the cats are ok. I know you know what to do with the bite thing and a new peep critter is welcome news!

  13. Sorry mom got hurt. Those murder mitts an hurt. I so remember.

You’re not a fibber. I don’t care what anyone says. Kitties are never wrong about anything.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Ellen. Healing hug to mom and scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  14. Sounds like things are busy at your place Rosie! I always forget about picking up a cat in fight mode, I get worried they may get hurt and just plow on in there! Tie-dyed pillow cases, cool! I hope we get to see them when they’re done. Congrats on the new baby bro on the way.

    1. We have the topical one, but after fighting 2 of them, I gave up on Ethel. Thank you. 🙂 XO

  16. Rosie and Penny (and all the kitties!), there sure has been a lot of excitement at your home, hasn’t there? The story of Drake biting your mom reminds me of the time my dad got bit because he was trying to pick up a toy at the same time that one of his kitties decided he needed to go for it. My dad’s finger got in the way of said kitty’s canines. We’re glad your mom is okay, though! And we’re so excited to know what you all think about The Great One’s and Typhoid Mary’s little brother. Congrats to the family!

  17. Maybe your Mom can use some of those pillow cases when she takes the ferals in for theor rabies shots.

  18. Watch closely for infection on that bite, i ended up in the hospital from that once, remember?

Congratulations on the new family member and that joke about the cage is priceless!

  19. MOL!!! You made mum laugh at Nickeless Cage!!!!!!
Sorry about your mum getting bit. That must have hurt!!!!!
I am sending purrs her finger will be OK!

    Purrs, Julie

  20. Charlee: “We have heard that Nickeless Cage fellow plays just about any role, so why not a cat crate?”
Chaplin: “It’s got to be a step up from Ghost Rider.”
Lulu: “Hmm, I heard Dada liked ‘Ghost Rider’.”
Chaplin: “Yeah but Dada liking a movie doesn’t say much about its quality.”

  21. Sounds as if an awful lot is going on at your house. Cooper Murphy likes to bite our mom. He doesn’t mean any harm, but she has gotten a couple infections. We know Mom Ellen will take good care of the bite. That was sort of a mean prank you played on her. 22. We hesitate to say, but we have bit TBT a couple times. He picked up Laz on the deck when he really didn’t want to come in one dusk. And Marley had sticky seeds in his fur and he objected with claws to the de-matter because it pulled. But TBT both heals and forgives fast.
