Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Be sure to leave your link at McGuffy’s Reader. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.

2. When I an angry, I ________________.
3. Today, I know for sure                         .

4. For St. Patrick’s day, I                          .
My answers:
1. When I am nervous, I write lists. I also hum ( I annoy myself and anyone around me when I do that).
2. When I am angry, I cry.
3. Today, I know for sure that veterinary care is expensive. Tallulah’s dental was $776 ( I am not looking for donations, I am just in shock- and that was with hubby’s senior discount).
4. For St. Patrick’s Day, I plan to have Frosted Lucky Charms for breakfast- they are magically delicious.
We are also joining Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus
Tallulah is still loopy from pain meds, but she wants to thank everyone for the purrs and prayers. She now only has a few teeth left. Good thing she lives with the tooth fairy.

  2. Wow, I’ve never had a dental bill like that except for my braces. Effie keeps her teeth clean eating grasses, and our vet says they look healthy. Tallulah is very brave and her people are very generous. It’s expensive, but our pets are worth it all. My late cat Coolidge became diabetic when he was 8, and he lived to be 17. I never missed an insulin shot. That insulin cost $130.00 a month, for 9 years, and we didn’t care. Coolidge was worth it all. And Tallulah’s eating comfort and ability certainly is too. ❤ ?

    1. They are definitely worth it. I am glad you had Coolidge for so long. A lot with teeth is genetics, Noel has never needed a dental. XO

  3. I am so sorry you had to go to the dentist, Tallulah, and that you are losing your teeth. 🙁

Whether for people or for critters, health care is just so very expensive. It would be nice if there were a health care fairy! Or better yet, that nobody ever got sick or injured, we were always at optimal health. That would be wonderful!

I hope you’re feeling better very soon, Tallulah. 🙂 Have a blessed weekend.

    1. Thank you ? She is a little better. I hope you have a blessed weekend too. XO

  4. I’m sure Tallulah feels better without the bad teeth! I hope she got something nice from the tooth fairy!

  5. Poor Tallulah……Hopefully once she heals up she will feel a lot better though without the tooth problems and yes indeed – she lives with the Tooth Fairy so I’m SURE she will be well cared for!! Happy almost St. Pat’s Day!

    Hugs, Teddy O’Kimmell

  6. Wow that is a lot. So far I haven’t had a bill like that. Anyway, Tallulah, we sure hope you feel better and soon. You all have a great week end.

  7. Yes, thanks the heavens she lives with the tooth fairy! I am glad that is over for her. Frosted Lucky Charms sound like a plan for St. Pat’s! I think I’m gonna have a Grouper sandwich… 🙂 Bet your Crew would like that, although I am surprised by how many cats don’t like fish.

  8. Crying when I’m angry used to make me even angrier. Heh… So sorry about that bill. Wow.

Thanks for the great comment on my blog. I didn’t know any dollar stores stocked adult coloring books. Of course, it will take me a while to fill the kids’ one I bought since I usually spend my time writing.

As for your crochet skills, those cat toys you sent (with the great book you offered as a prize; thank you!) are amazing. How do you get them so bouncy? Rotten Jezebel lost them somewhere over the last few nights. I’ll have to look underneath the couches. Heh… Be well!

  9. Vet care certainly is expensive. I hope Tallulah is over the loopiness and feeling okay today. Lucky Charms ARE magically delicious! 🙂

  10. Oh yes, we know all too well how painful dentals, with surgery, can be. Toby’s final bill was $1,296. We were blessed with the generosity of many but still had a decent part left over to pay. Both of you have all our sympathies.

  11. Veterinary bills can be terribly expensive! My older daughter…one of her cats (she’s got three) only has a couple of teeth left. But despite that, she is doing great and has no trouble eating (the cat, not my daughter ?).

I always enjoy these fill-ins! Have a wonderful weekend. xo

  12. Tallulah, we are sending you lots of purrs and prayers. Our humans know just how expensive vet care is. It’s time for our annual round-up. Mom says she and Dad may have to take out a loan. Please feel better soon. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  13. Making lists is a good way to help us organize our thoughts which reduces some of the stress. Humming is good for you too, it is self-soothing.

I sometimes cry when I am really angry too, because I am so frustrated!!

The cost of veterinary care is outrageous, and it makes it hard for families to provide all the care their furkids should have, just like with us humans.

Lucky Charms… that made me smile! Have a lovely weekend, Ellen! 🙂

    1. That is a good point, it is self -soothing. You should get some Lucky Charms. :)Have a nice weekend!

  14. Lucky Charms made me laugh out loud. I’d forgotten about that commercial.

Beautiful kitty. Sorry she’s still loopy. I remember the last time we had Little Bit’s teeth cleaned and she was loopy into the next day. We started brushing her teeth after that. She was getting too old to be put out for teeth cleaning. It sure is expensive too.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

    1. Glad we gave you a chuckle 🙂 AT least Tallullah doesn’t have many teeth left. XO

  15. I am notorious for writing lists, too. I don’t necessarily do it when I’m nervous, but I love writing to-do lists and then crossing the items off of it. It makes me feel so accomplished.

And I know what you mean about veterinary expenses. I always tell myself that even my furbabies’ doctors went to medical school, and without their expertise my furbabies wouldn’t be happy and healthy. So, my wallet pretty much has an open-door policy at the vet’s office. When Astrid had her two surgeries last year for her tumor and toe removal, it all added up to over $3,000. Luckily, I hate shopping and so pretty much all of my money is reserved for my kitties and pup.

    Happy Friday to you all!

    1. I like crossing things off lists too. You are a good mom to your furbabies. XO

  16. I love that you hum when you’re nervous as I often do that too but don’t realise I’m doing it – my beloved will start humming next to me to make me realise. I’d forgotten that habit when I wrote my post. I’m also a list writer, but I do that no matter what mood I’m in.
Vet bills are really scary and I’m so glad we have insurance for our brats, otherwise we would never be able to afford them. I hope Tallulah is feeling better and that the other cats aren’t teasing her about needing to suck on her food.
    Have a lovely day Ellen.

    1. I always write lists too, but even more when nervous. You are wise to have insurance. Tallulah is still loopy from her pain meds, but she is eating. XO

  17. Oh, dear Tallulah, we bet the Tooth Fairy is going to be very, very good to you, and we bet you already feel a little better. Wonderful fill-ins this week. Sending love and purrs!

  18. Tallulah is very pretty and I’m glad she did well with her dental. Vet care costs never cease to amaze me. They are astonishingly expensive. Annie is having a lot of expenses right now and we’ve been through it before with previous kitties.

    I love Lucky Charms!

  19. Sending purrs to Tallulah to heal up quickly! We bet she’ll feel much better with those bad teefs gone. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  20. Yeah, dentals can get expensive fairly fast – especially when they require a bit of surgery to extract a tooth (and then antibiotics, pain meds add to the cost along with the cost for the “minor surgery.” ) I hate putting Bear through it, but he’s needed regular extractions (he has tooth resorption). We hope Tallulah is back to her glorious self sooner than later!

  21. When I am nervous, I can’t focus on anything. I also cry when I’m angry!
With your houseful, the vet bills must really add up, especially those big ones. Between just our two senior girls, ours have been piling up already this year!

  22. Great answers. Yes, vet bills are crazy, but I never heard of such an expensive dental. I agree with Sherri-Ellen, our old cat Sammy lived without teeth for years and somehow got everything down she liked. When we offered her pureed food, she didn’t touch it 😀 Hopefully Tallulah feels better soon.

    1. Thank you. She needed lot of extractions so it took a long time so it made the price much higher.

  23. We hope Tallulah feels much better after her dental! We know how expensive vet visits can get because Wilhelmina and Avalon were recently really sick and the vet bills were in the thousands!! 🙁
It can get expensive when you have many pets as we both do!! XO

the critters in the cottage xo

    1. Thank you. She is still a little out of it from the pain meds.I hope Wilhelmina and Avalon are feeling better. XO

  24. The mom knows all too well how expensive vet care is these days. She doesn’t even want to say how much she has spent in the last year or so on the 3 of us.

  25. That’s a lot for dental work, but all medical care of all kinds is very pricey now. Among other things, the doctors and nurses and veterinarians and etc. are paying back huge loans because the schooling is so expensive, then they have to pay for their malpractice insurance, which is insanely expensive even if you have never had a claim against you, and there’s the overhead for the practice, and ugh.

It all adds up to i don’t know the solution to the out of control spiraling of prices of these things, but i know it’s complicated and it hurts when it’s so much.

  26. We’re glad Tallulah is well. That certainly is a big bill. We sure hope we never have to have one. Big hugs

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

    1. Yes, my hubby was not happy but at least she is no longer in pain ( I hope). XO
