Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and Ten Things of Thankful.

My first thankful is also my art for the week. Online puzzles, they are providing me with a lot of amusement. I made one for St. Patrick’s Day with a photo I took several years ago when my niece and her cat, Nixon lived here. He is 11 years old now and doing well. It took me 19 minutes and 37 seconds to complete, I guarantee you that you can beat that time.

2. Thankful we only got 4 inches of snow on Tuesday, some places in Massachusetts got 27 inches.

3. Thankful a good cardiologist is only an hour away for Emmy. I am sure she would like one even closer, but it isn’t that far.

4. Thankful that Tallulah is recovering well from her big dental.

5. Thankful for a surprise package that arrived in the mail just as we returned from Emmy’s appointment. It was a pleasant surprise especially during this stressful week with so much going on with the kitties. Thank you to Rachel at Three Chatty Cats for all these great treats and for the kitty stickers she sent for “The Great One”.

There were even photos of adorable Harley enjoying his Tooth Fairy gifts.Joanie agreed to pose, but she called dibs on the 12 oz. bag of Temptations 🙂

6. Thankful my Mom stayed with the cats while we were with Emmy. I am always afraid to leave the house unattended for fear that someone would break in and harm them or they would get out and be eaten by coyotes. ( We had coyote tracks in the snow around our house).

7.Parchment paper- I used to always burn my cookies until I started using it.I made a batch of cherry winks for my hubby, but I used green cherries for St. Patrick’s Day.

8.Joanie is thankful that Mrs. Potato Head and Gremmie are friends again.

9. I am thankful for toys, “The Great One” and I had fun playing grocery store and vet clinic the other day.

10. A great nap that made up that hour we lost.

  1. WOW! That’s a lot of great thankfuls for today. We will try that puzzle – we’re getting hooked on them too…..Mom says they are good for her old brain. HAHA What a great package of goodies you got from Three Chatty Cats AND we’re happy that Gremmie and Mrs. Potato Head are back on speaking terms.

    HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY!
    Love, Teddy and Mom too

    1. I am blessed.I agree, they are good for the brain and mine needs a lot of exercise. XO and love to you both

  2. What a super list of things to be thankful for. We are very thankful for all of you and we are thankful for some warmer temperatures right now. You all have a great day.

  3. Mrs. Potato Head and Gremmie… darling. Thank you for the puzzle… I love to do those puzzles, especially with cats as the star of the puzzle! I guarantee you that I will NOT be able to beat that time… LOL! Happy that Tallulah is recovering well and that Emmy’s cardiologist is not too terribly far. Temptations!!!! Vet clinic with The Great One… brilliant and fun!

    1. Cat Scouts has a lot of puzzles on jigsaw planet, they are really tough if you want a challenge. The Great One is a good little vet , I got her a kit for Christmas. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  4. Sounds, 27 inches of snow?!? I’ve been thinking that I missed having a serious winter, but the thought of needing to dig out from that gave me second thoughts. I’d be grateful to only deal with 4 inches, too.

  5. #8 cracled Mommy up. She is so easily amused (lol).
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Those cookies look yummy. Yes, parchment paper is a Godsend.

  6. Nixon is a cutie and looks very festive. What a nice and thoughtful package you received! How nice that it came at the perfect time.

  7. Those are wonderful things to be thankful for. And 27 inches is a lot of snow! I’m thankful, too, that it didn’t come here 🙂

  8. Winter bliss, snow and all. I lived in upstate New York as a child, and snow piled high and temperatures were low. -20° F wasn’t unusual, and my Mom decided when I was freezing at the school bus stop that it was time for us to move to California.

  9. Parchment paper is super. Besides using it on cookie sheets instead of grease, you can put a sheet on top of a lump of dough and roll it flat. It spares you the mess of extra flour and it keeps the rolling pin from collecting dough.

  10. I think you’re too hard on yourself. Your time on that cute puzzle is probably right on target at the very least. ~hugs~ Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

  11. You have much to be thankful for. Today I have a head cold so I’m not feeling the best. I hope it doesn’t last long. I hate being sick, but I’m thankful that I don’t get sick very often.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your peeps. ♥

  14. I always enjoy doing the puzzles you post. I also always greatly enjoy reading your Thankfuls. I am so happy that Emmy is doing well, and that Tallulah is recovering. Joanie, is Mrs. Potato back to babysitting Gremmie for you, so that you can have some breaks? It’s nice to have a trustworthy babysitter. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all of you!

  15. Nixon is very cute, miss Ellen. Great things to be thankful for. Those coyotes must be very scary, we’re glad we don’t have them around. We have more wildlife in this environment, so Granny is very alert too. Pawkisses for a Happy St. Patrick’s Day???

  16. 4″ sounds like you got off easy…excellent! This is one winter I’m glad I no longer live in the northeast.
You puzzles are addicting. Tried one a couple of weeks ago. Based on past performance you can add at least 30 more minutes to my time after your 19 😀
    Good list!

  17. TW wishes she had time for puzzles. It always takes her at least 20 minutes to do the online ones. She also has one over a thousand pieces of Noah’s Ark she’s had since before we moved here that she hasn’t started.

    1. It takes me way longer than 20 minutes for most, but I have fun. I have given up on regular ones because of the cats.XO

  18. Those are some great thankful things, sweet pals. We are thankful that the snowfall here was minimal, too. Happy St. Catrick’s Day to you all!

  19. Oh my gosh. 27 inches would be world ending here. lol 4 inches would keep us down for a few days at least. Glad yall didn’t get TOO much!

  20. Your week is full of many blessings. I’d love to eat a cookie called Cherry Wink. Would you share that recipe with me? Cute with the green cherries. We only, thankfully, got a dusting of snow. No need to dig out at all. I always enjoy the cat photos and antics. Have a good week.

    1. I emailed you the recipe, I hope it doesn’t get lost in SPAM 🙂 Hope you have a great week too 🙂

  21. I am glad you didn’t get all that snow! We had 2 inches today which is the second time this month. I know it doesn’t sound much, but when you hardly ever get snow, it is!
I couldn’t do the puzzle as it wouldn’t load. It said there was a connection error and to try later. I tried later and it still wouldn’t load.
Never mind, they always take me ages anyway.

  22. I mentioned you in the Doctrine TToT… as the source of (our) getting acquainted with online jigsaw puzzles. You had a link here a few weeks ago, I followed it and the jigsaw puzzles followed me home.

  23. Coyotes certainly pose a danger for cats. I haven’t had cats in years, but I did frequently chase coyotes out of my yard when I had chickens. So glad your mom could stay at your house when you had to be gone.

  24. Frum what LadyMum told mee Aunty thee cookies are like hermit cookies with nutss an fruit like red an green cherries inn them……do you want thee recipe?

    1. Those sound good, I would like the recipe if your mum has time to send it. XO

      1. Mee put thee recipe on LadyMum’ss TO-DEW list Aunty Ellen…it will take a few dayss shee iss sue-purr busy…what a busy week! At leest quiet rite?

  25. I don’t think I have every eaten Cherry Winks. I looked up the recipe and it sounds like there is a lot of sweetness in them. 🙂

I’m glad that you didn’t get too much snow in comparison to others in Massachusetts.

Surprise packages are always fun to receive.
