Friendly Fill-Ins Week 264

Hi everyone! Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.
1. If I could trade places with someone for a day, I would trade with ________________________.
2. I would like to own a __________________ some day.
3. I can’t stand _________ this time of the year.
4. _________ is my favorite thing about this time of the year.
My answers:
1. If I could trade places with someone for a day , I would trade with Nicolas Cage’s wife. I know I said I was over him, but the heart wants what the heart wants. 🙂
2. I would like to own a DSLR camera someday.
3. I can’t stand heat, humidity, mosquitos, other bugs,  fireworks and pretty much everything this time of year.
4. Garden fresh zucchini is my favorite thing this time of year. ( at least I like something) 🙂
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Back in 2016, Angel KaTwo was borrowing Sammy’s TARDIS box for International Box Day.

  1. I dislike mosquitoes and fireworks especially too, Ellen. Fireworks because they scare animals. And, I do like zucchini. XO

    1. Same here, they are illegal, but people go to NH and get them. I know they scare most animals. XO

  2. 1. If I could trade places with someone for a day, I would trade with I have no idea, actually. LOL!!! I guess I like where I am at. Sometimes I wish I could trade with some of the fictional book characters I have read.
    2. I would like to own a house that came with servants and a lawn/yard maintenance gang. Yup…as if! I too would love to own and then to try to learn how to use a DSLR camera some day.
    3. I can’t stand the hot humid weather this time of the year.
    4. Not needing sweaters and coats and just wearing my comfy sandals on my feet is my favorite thing about this time of the year.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Servants would be nice. 🙂 I don’t know of anyone that likes humidity. Have a nice weekend. XO

  3. Sweet picture of Ka Two peeping out from the Tardis. I hate humidity too. We have year round high humidity here which isn’t a problem in winter, but in summer my ankles are almost permanently swollen.

  4. I really do HATE humidity – heat I can deal with but that sticky stuff is ICKY STUFF! Yum for zucchini – you’re lucky to have it FRESH from your garden. Thanks for hosting the fill-ins…..so much fun to do that every week.

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

    1. I can’t deal with either. We grow a lot of varieties you can’t get at the store. 🙂 XO

  5. Good Morning, Ellen. Yep, no surprise on #1… ha! I am with you on #3 so I don’t know what I am doing in the buggiest place I have ever lived. We can add flying ants and swarming gnats to this list of bugs to hate today. Zucchini is very good!
    1. If I could trade places with someone for a day, I would trade with… I really wouldn’t want to change places with anyone at this time in my life.
    2. I would like to own a Vespa some day. At least today that sounds like a good idea.
    3. I can’t stand HUMIDITY this time of the year.
    4. The smell of fresh cut grass and afternoon thunderstorms is my favorite thing about this time of the year.
    Thank you, Ellen!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I really wouldn’t trade either, well maybe just for the day. I hope you get a Vespa someday. Have a nice weekend. XO

    1. They are illegal in my state, but people still get them and they scare the cats. XO

  6. Ellen #3 fill in is exactly how I feel. So many folks think afternoon evening gatherings out doors are the cats meow this time of year. I say NO I’m allergic to heat humidity and bugs. And one evern suggested I use bug spray. Well I’m allergic to Deet and that is about the only kind of spray that will keep bugs at bay
    Hugs Cecilia

  7. I love your fill-ins and I’m not surprised about wanting to be Cage’s wife. I get that.

Aw on Angel KaTwo. A precious memory.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins. Always fun.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

  8. I was really looking forward to your fill-ins, and your #1 had me laughing. I both was and was not surprised to see that as your answer. And I’m with you on #3. I like being outdoors and being in nature, but not in this heat and humidity, and not when bugs are eating me alive. Is it autumn yet? That’s my favorite time to spend time outdoors. And, as always, I am so impressed by your garden and its crop. Fresh zucchini sounds amazing right now, especially with a bit of ranch dressing. Purrs!

    1. I don’t mind outside in fall and winter, but only when no bugs are around. 🙂

  9. Precious picture! Couldn’t agree more with #3. (Is summer over yet?) Love your answer to #1. I would have the same answer about Conway’s wife but she was only 39 when he passed and has never remarried, saying she still feels very much married to him. I know she’s lived nearly 30 years with a completely broken heart.

  10. I am right there with you on #3! I have a DSLR but rarely use it. Camera phones are so quick and easy. But there is definitely a big difference when I use the DSLR.

    1. I finally have a good camera on my phone and I forget to use it. 🙂

  11. You made us laugh about Nick Cage. Dads sister loved him the same way. If you want to ever go for a DSLR try a Canon. Dad has had several over the years and they are great at a reasonable cost. They hold up too as he has fumble fingers and drops cameras. I feel the same about this time of year! Purrs

  12. I can’t stand the muggy heat either or the hayfever season, I will have a word with Nicholas (we are on first name terms) for you 😯

Love the tardis pic and the little peep 🙂

    Have a drwhotastic weekend 👍

  13. Mew mew mew Miss Ellen wee heer you ’bout this time of yeer….LadyMew iss inn toetall agreemint!’Mee asked LadyMew to due Fill-innss here with you so here shee iss:
    1) Keanu Reeves <3
    2) my own single floor ranch style house.
    3) humidity, earwigs, wasp, hornets, mosquitoes, Army Ants & loud lawnmowers & wee whackers & deafening motorcylces.
    4) fresh fruit & Ice cream.
    **purrss** BellaDharma an ((huggiess)) LadyMew

    1. Thank your mum for these great fill-in answers. Keanu is a cutie. And I hope she gets her own single floor ranch someday. I forgot about motorcycles- hate those too. 🙂 XO

  14. Mom doesn’t like the humidity and heat at all either. It makes her tired and cranky:)

We haven’t tried zucchini, but we know Mom likes yellow squash and zucchini, especially in the summer when it can be grown and bought locally.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  15. Thanks for hosting. I guess when you’re young, you appreciate the summer more. One plus is that covid goes away during the hot weather. TW loves when Jersey fresh tomatoes and peaches come out. Her dad used to grow fresh tomatoes so she got used to having them. No other tomato compares to a Jersey.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I have never had a Jersey tomato and now I want one. XO

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I always have an afternoon nap and nobody dare bug me about it. 🙂 XO

  16. I think of you anytime I see a Nic Cage image, or think about the book, “The Orchid Thief”, which was made into the film “Adaptation” with Nic Cage (playing two roles!), Meryl Streep, and Chris Cooper.

  17. I’m glad there’s something you like about summer! 🙂 Here it’s the ticks that are the worst, their populations have exploded here – even our birds can’t keep up with eating them!
Any and all fresh veggies are my favorites, but we don’t quite have zucchini yet. Hopefully soon.
