Friendly Fill-Ins Week 22

Hi everyone! Before we get to the Fill-Ins, I want to give you an update on Phoebe’s blood work. Her thyroid is now fine with 1/2 pill twice a day. She does have the start of kidney disease though. Unfortunately, I wasn’t home when the vet called so that is all I know for now. When I talk to the vet we will discuss the diet.

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 22. Be sure to add your link on McGuffy’s Reader.
Fill-ins:
1. My favorite store is _____________________.
2. An unanswered prayer I am thankful for is _______________________.

3. At Halloween, I                                       .

4. I                        the supernatural, because                                      .

My answers:

  1. My favorite store is MICHAEL’S CRAFT STORE.
  2. An unanswered prayer I am thankful for is THAT THE MAN I DATED BEFORE I MET MY HUBBY MOVED TO FLORIDA AND STAYED. I HAD PRAYED HE WOULD MOVE BACK HERE.
  3. At Halloween, I HAVE THE HO– USE ALL DECORATED EVEN THOUGH WE NEVER GET TRICK OR TREATERS.
  4. I BELIEVE IN the supernatural, because I HAVE READ MANY BOOKS BY PSYCHICS THAT DO SPEAK TO THE DEAD AND THEY SURE CONVINCED ME.

One prayer we do hope gets answered is for Phoebe’s Purrince. His latest vet recommended euthanasia despite his being healthy. He is always welcome to live with us as an option, but this vet doesn’t think re-homing would work. If you have any suggestions please visit them. And please pray.

We are also praying for everyone to be safe from Hurricane Matthew.

The word today for #JHC is Monster. stinky

My Stinky was not afraid of our Frankenstein Monster. I miss my Stinky.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about sweet Phoebe’s health challenges and about the awful thing the vet suggested about Purrince. That is so sad! All of you are in our prayers.

How did Stinky get the name Stinky? That is an interesting kitty name. A cute kitty, too. I’m sorry that you don’t have Stinky anymore. 🙁

    Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Thank you, Stinky never covered her poop, she wanted to get out of the litter box quickly so it was always stinky. I found her outside as a kitten a week before we found Prancie on a very cold night. She was with us 11 years and passed in January. One eye pupil was dilated and she had an appointment with a specialist, but she didn’t make it that long.

  2. I’m glad Phoebe’s thyroid test is good – not happy about the news about her kidneys. I am purring for all my pals in Florida and South Carolina.

    1. Thank you, I will talk to the vet Monday to figure out a plan to slow the progression of the disease.

    2. Thank you, I will talk to the vet Monday to figure out a plan to slow the progression of the disease.

  3. We’re praying for Siddhartha and his mom. We hope she will follow her heart. Sometimes the mind tells us to do things the heart would never do. It must be hard with a ‘wild child’ but it can also be extremely rewarding! We’ll be praying for Phoebe’s health! Love Mr. Stinky and the monster!! Love you!!

    1. Thank you, Phoebe’s purrince is always welcome to live with us. We will make it work somehow. XO and love to you all.

  4. Good and bad news, Phoebe. Why do I get the feeling there will be less Party Mix in your future?!?! Actually, I have no idea about nutrition for kidney disease so I shouldn’t say that as I have no idea if Party Mix would be a problem. Regardless, we’re always thinking about you Phoebe, and your brothers, sisters, Mom and Dad … and your Purrince too 🙂

    1. Uh-oh! I must have my party mix !!! Thank you for thinking of us sweet BearCat XO

    2. Thank you. I better still get party mix. Thank you for thinking of us sweet Bear XO

  5. Stinky was so COOL! We hope everything will work out fine, Phoebe, also for your Little Purrince. It came as a shock for us too when we heard what the vet said, but we believe in healing and we believe that LadyMum Sherri-Ellen will do everything that is in her power to help Siddhartha Henry, but If she isn’t able to handle him anymore, I would give it a try, Miss Ellen. We never do what the vet says, because one says this and the other says that, we have learnt to follow your heart. We have to put our paws together and stay positive, and purray and maybe with a competent cat behavior and a few Bach Remedies, miracles might happen, but you have to have a lot of patience. For now Healing Pawkisses to you all for a Healthy Weekend 🙂 <3

  6. We hope Siddhartha can come live with you Phoebe……….his new vet is taking the easy way out. So very wrong and very sad……..we’ll keep our paws crossed that Siddhartha is not euthanized because of behavioral problems that can be addressed. I love your Mom’s fill-in answers too!

    Hugs, Sammy

    1. Thank you, that vet should not be a vet. We would love to have the purrince join our family. XO

  7. That’s good news for Phoebe. I don’t get why and how can anyone think of putting to sleep a healthy cat. I hope Siddhartha gets adopted now.

  8. I love Michael’s too. I am sorry to hear about Siddhartha. I pray that he finds a home – your home sounds like the perfect place for him.

  9. I am so glad to hear that your thyroid is looking better, Phoebe. But, I’m sorry to hear about your kidneys. Tell your mom not to fret, though! My Rosie had renal disease for 3 years, and it was from other ailments that she passed. On the day I said goodbye to my angel Rosie, her kidney values were still doing great. She did well on the neutraceutical called RenAvast (AminAvast is what it’s called now, I believe), in addition to other meds and treatments as the need arose.

And we love your fill-ins! We don’t get as many trick-or-treaters as we used to, but we still get enough to keep me happy. And what an adorable picture of Stinky and Frankenstein’s monster!

I plan on visiting your purrince’s blog in a bit, Phoebe. I wonder if his vet has ever tried him on Prozac. I know, weird suggestion, but it can actually help (I saw that firsthand when I used to work at a cat clinic). Some cats do get chemically imbalanced, and sometimes all they need is even just 1 month on Prozac to reset everything. And I don’t remember if your purrince has any fursibs at home, but some cats will act out if lonely and bored. Perhaps he needs a buddy to play with and to keep him occupied and happy?

    1. Thank you for your words of encouragement on Phoebe. I am glad it is the early stage so we can make some changes to diet and get some AminAvast.
I like your idea of Prozac, I hope the vet will try that. He is always welcome to live with us and he would have lots of friends to play with.

  10. Our mom luffs Michaels too! Best of the craft and hobby stores. We’re glad Pheobe’s thyroid meds are helping. As for her Purrince…. we agree very strongly with Summer’s comment on his blog – there are triggers causing problems, it’s not truly happening randomly. Nothing truly happens that doesn’t have a cause. And that vet – really shouldn’t be practicing. She needs a much more experienced vet to help her.

    1. Very true, cats are so sensitive to our moods and their environments. That is a bad vet.

  11. I am glad your thyroid number is good, Phoebe. The vet who said your Purrince should be euthanised is the one who needs to be PTS. It is shocking that someone in the profession of helping animals thinks that is an easy way out.

  12. Good news about Phoebe, and I hope you get more information about the kidneys. Stinky sure was a brave man cat!

  13. Jackson Galaxy had a similar case on his show, “My Cat From Hell” about a demon cat, that did very well once on the right medication. Here’s hoping your Purrince’s momma finds another opinion at a different veterinarian. Phoebe, you have many years ahead of you; your humans are gonna take good care of you!

  14. I love Michaels and Hobby Lobby and have to work to avoid temptation spending when I go there, I want it all! 🙂

It sounds to me like God answered your prayers in an even better way… with the man who was just right for you!

Decorating the house for holidays is fun and cheerful. I have wreaths up but that’s it for this year.

I agree with you about the supernatural, there is a spirit world where our loved ones exist, and it is possible in some cases to connect with those there.

    1. I prefer Michaels because I can afford it, most of Hobby Lobby’s stuff is bigger like furniture pieces and wall art which is too expensive. Have a great weekend!

  15. Well Stinky was far braver than us. Big hugs, we know dat empty feelin’. We’re glad dat da thyroid is good, but sorry to hear ’bout da kidney disease. We’ll be purrayin’ extra and ifin ya’ wanna talk or need to talk, mommy says she’s here. She also says purrlease don’t do those nasty RX diets.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

    1. I will call your Mom soon to discuss ideas to slow the disease down because I know the vet will recommend the diets. I am thinking of trying raw for her if I can find a good brand locally.

  16. Darling, Phobe, we are happy about your thyroid being normal with medication, but so super sad to hear about the beginnings of kidney disease. Fiona has been rather puny. She spends lots of time curled into a tight ball in Mom’s or Dad’s lap. She has her recheck appointment next Thursday. You remain in our prayers, Phoebe. We were devastated when we read about what the new vet recommended for Siddhartha. We know Sherri-Ellen will not do that. We hope she gets him on medication instead.XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    1. We are praying and purring for Fiona. Has your weather been colder? Maybe she feels it more and could use a heating pad. I was sad about Phoebe, but glad it was detected early, thyroid hides it so it wasn’t noticed the first time she was checked for thyroid. XO

  17. Well your test was good in one way, but not in another. I know your mom will do everything she can to keep you as healthy as she can.

I would get a second opinion on Phoebe’s Purrince. Some doctors are far better than other doctors.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your mom. ☺

    1. I will talk to the vet to see how we can slow the kidney disease down. I hope you have a nice weekend!

  18. We are sure glad about your thyroid sweet Phoebe and that kidney thing can be managed pretty well. I have only one suggestion for Siddhartha’s Vet, but I’m pretty sure it’s not legal. That Vet shouldn’t be in practice, that was the most idiotic thing I’ve heard in a while.

  19. Its good your thyroid is fine…but kid of scary to know your kidneys need some help. Purring fur you, Phoebe.

Your angel brofur Stinky sure was a character. We would either hiss at or hide from the Frank Dude! MOL!

Purrince’s vet needs a checkup himself on his (in)ability to be a vet we think. What a preposterous suggestion. He is the monster fur sure. Hisses.

    1. My favorite store is pet stores, craft shops and any other where I cannot find enough $$ to buy the stuff I see there, MOL!.

    2. An unanswered prayer I am thankful for is not having a dozen children. Hah!! That was actually hubby’s desire, but we didn’t ‘find’ each other soon enough…

    3. At Halloween, I go to church in the evening because its also Reformation Day, which we commemorate with special services. We do not trick or treat nor did our children…though years ago our parents let us do that. .

    4. I believe in the supernatural, but not that of ‘spirits and witches, etc, because the only supernatural is that of God and His angel helpers and the devil who works against them. Which is why we do not want to ‘do’ Halloween because it is all about that kind of thing.

(I know I am ‘old fashioned’ and maybe politically incorrect but what ever!) .

    1. Thank you for your answers, very interesting. I have not heard of Reformation Day. We have All Souls Day immediately followed by All Saints Day. When I was a CCD teacher, I would still have a Halloween party with the kids and focus on those days and the fun parts of Halloween instead of the gorey.
I looked up supernatural and I took it to mean anything different from what an ordinary person can do so I believe because I believe Jesus resurrected. I also believe our loved ones are with us and some people have the special gift to communicate with them.
      Have a great weekend!

  20. Phoebe, I am glad your thyroid is OK and I hope the signs of kidney disease are not serious. I will pray for you and for your Purrince. I went over and read the post and I just want to cry. How could a vet recommend killing him?

    1. We are praying for Phoebe’s purrince, he needs a new vet right away. I will talk top the vet Monday about what I can do to slow down the kidney disease.

  21. Phoebe, we’re glad your numbers are better! We’re sending purrs to you and to your Purrince! There has to be another way to help him. One way is to get a new vet! We enjoyed the fill ins too!

    1. We agree a new vet is the first step and we are available to take him if it comes to that.

  22. Hi Phoebe. I’m very glad all is well with your thyroid. I’m sorry about the kidney news, but I think that’s normal for just about all kitties once they hit a certain age. Well, maybe I should say a lot of kitties. I think a lot of seniors get at least the start of kidney disease. I hope the vet has reasonable good news about it and some good suggestions.

Aw, we miss Stinky too. That is such a cute picture!

I enjoyed reading your answers. I’m so glad #2 worked out so very well!

I sure hope your Purrince gets a new vet. How awful and sad.

  23. I haven’t been to Michael’s in a long time, but it’s a great store. I never do anything for Halloween anymore. We get no trick or treaters.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. I decorate for my hubby and I to enjoy and hopefully at some point this month we will have some guests that can enjoy the decorations too. I hope you have a nice weekend!

  24. Our very first year as a married couple, Suzanne and I sat on our front porch in a well lit place with tons of candy. I was in my Western Auto uniform. We were a well-known family in the area. Still, trick or treaters passed us by. We had some awesome candy, too. I let the candy go to waste, my waist that is.

  25. Your Purrince must be as bad as I was when I came here. I still bite and attack but I’ve calmed down a lot. TW wanted to return me to the rescue but Pop wouldn’t let her because he didn’t want me to get PTS by the next adopter. Great monster.

  26. We are purring hard for Phoebe and Dad is sending prayers. We know Mom will be giving you really good care which will make all the difference.

    Now our Fill in Answers
1: Timmy: Our favorite store is Giant Groceries as they have all kinds of nice treats.
Dad: He gets all his treats there too MOL

    2. I saw Dad the first time and hid and hissed purraying that he would go away. He saw my brofur that day but decided to wait. When he came back my brofur had been adopted and, funny thing, next time I saw Dad I loved him, started purring and pawing him. I am so glad he did not go away.

Dad says he prayed to get back a girl who moved to Florida. She had years of turmoil in her life that he missed out on, thankfully.

    3. At Halloween we are so glad there are no strangers coming to our house!

Dad is sorry we live on a road with no kids to visit us. He says things used to be so different.

    4. Timmy: I love the supernatural, because we cats can see so very much more than other animals and people.

Dad: I Love the Supernatural, because there may be things right beyond our perception that have influence on us and all of the cosmos. I see that in cats behavior.

Love these fill ins my friends!
We will Post The Travelling Glasses this week!
    Purrs
    Timmy and Family

    1. Thank you for your answers, I am glad you enjoy them- I sure do 🙂 I guess Florida is for exes. I am glad your Dad came back and got you Timmy. I can’t wait to see you all in Phoebe’s shades.

  27. I have always felt that there is a message for me out there…I expect someone to tell me something someday. I believe there are those who are intuitive.

Your Stinky was handsome. Your decorations are so cute! Great stuff, my friend.
