Friendly Fill-Ins Week 168

Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. A benefit of ___________ is _______________.

2. Sometimes one needs to ______________________.

3. I’m most likely to become famous for ________.

4. ________ is a current trend that makes no sense to me.
My answers:
1. A benefit of Turmeric is that it is an anti-inflammatory.  It is also an antioxidant and so much more. I highly recommend it for everyone.
2. Sometimes one needs to be alone and enjoy the silence. I need to do this daily. The cats are allowed to purr though 🙂
3. I’m most likely to become famous for nothing. I don’t see myself ever becoming famous.
4. States banning plastic bags is a current trend that makes no sense to me. I need those bags to put the litter box scoopings in. I don’t travel so my carbon foot-print is not that big so let me have me stinkin plastic bags.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Noel is having her ultrasound today so I should get some answers. Please keep her in your prayers.

  1. Ms. Ellen, mom likes turmeric, too, but I’m purrsonally not impressed with it. I had no idea that some states were threatening plastic bags! I thought plastic straws were supposedly the villains.
Have a wonderful day & thank you for hosting this blog hop.
    Purrseidon

  2. If you know of anyone who gets a newspaper, those come in plastic sleeves most of the time, very convenient for using as doggy mess bags, for stinky diapers, and for litter scoopings. Get anyone you know who receives a newspaper to save those bags for you to use.

You should be famous for rescuing cats.

    Praying for Noel.

  3. Turmeric is very healthy and we like it a lot. Granny also drinks Turmeric thee, it’s delicious😺Thinking of you Noelle and Purrayers are on your way💗💗💗Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend to all of you🐾😽💞

  4. I wanted to mention, my human got a Goodreads email mentioning that you recommended a book to her – and she actually got that book a few weeks ago! Isn’t that a cool coincidence?

    1. That is funny. I knew she would like that being from LA and your house looks like a mini version of the Chateau Marmont. XO

  5. We know lots of peeps who think turmeric helps them – Mom is thinking of giving it a whirl. We are praying that you will find something out about Noel after her ultrasound. Sending HUGS!!

    Love, Teddy

  6. How many milligrams of Turmeric do you take?

Noel..I am waiting to hear your results.

I use those bags for the same thing and to line the trash cans in the house. Wee’d have to buy those in a store that sells them in a roll, and they are a pain to get opened.

  7. Praying for answers about Noel and that they are positive/good. Tickled by your #4. I will have to read about turmeric.
    My Fill-Ins…
    1. A benefit of living in Florida is seeing all the gorgeous birds.
    2. Sometimes one needs to spend some time with their own thoughts with the TV not on once and fill up the gas tank on their own vehicle and eat all the things they want to eat that are not usually on the menu when the husband is home. But not to come home to a chirping smoke detector, find out which one it is on exceptionally high ceilings with a ladder that barely reaches and jam the battery in a too small compartment only to find that the dang thing still chirps.
    3. I’m likely to become famous for NOTHING and I am so good with that.
    4. The concierge doctor movement is current trend that makes no sense to me.

    1. Thank you for these great fill-in answers. Smoke detectors are maddening when they chirp- that must have been awful. Have a nice weekend! XO

  8. Love your fill-ins and had to chuckle about the plastic bags. Here in California they banned straws. They banned the straws, but it’s okay to be homeless in San Francisco and poop on the street. Crazy world we live in.

I hope there is good news with Noel.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  9. The peeps agree with #4. They are stockpiling plastic bags. Around here though the bags wind up in trees and yards and get in everyone’s way. My peeps use those bags to line their garage can in the kitchen and throughout the house. TW bought a jar of tumeric last year and hasn’t tried it yet.
Sending good thoughts and healing purrz to Noel.

    1. Thank you for the healing purrz I am glad your peeps agree about the bags I have been trying to stockpile them too. XO

  10. Mum is really into herbal tea and she has heard about the benefits of turmeric tea though she is yet to try it. She’s tried lots of others, though, and loves the ones that help her sleep.

Sending purrs and healing vibes to Noel xx

  11. Thanks for sharing your Friendly Fill-in answers. We also like to have some silent time to ourselves to just relax and recharge the batteries. Hope everything goes well with Noel’s ultrasound. Have a great upcoming weekend.

  12. Sending purrs for Noel! Our mommy uses tumeric every day in her green drink and then takes Curcumin every night. Our town banned those bags years ago. We have a litter locker so use the bags made for that and the neighbor uses doggy doo bags for her kittys’ litter stuffs. A friend takes extra bags from the produce section at the grocery store for her litter scooping.

  13. Purrs for Noel. VT’s plastic bag ban starts next summer. It’s driving me nuts! And I’ve been taking Turmeric for a couple years now. I highly recommend it too!

    1. Thank you for the purrs. I am glad you feel the same about the bags 🙂 XO

  14. We agree with #4. Not only that, but we heard that studies have shown that folks who do use them but can no longer get them wind up buying bags to use. So while we’re all for being green, this is just not working.

    Purrs for Noel.

  15. I use turmeric powder in my smoothies and I take it in tablet form, too.
Quietude is a blessing that we all need to keep available, it is a good stress reliever.
I think you ARE famous in the blogging world, look how many peeps follow you! At any rate to me you are famous and we love you and your family and of course all of your kitties:)

I get frustrated about that bag thing, too. I need them for outside doggy duties and for the scooping too. And for lunches and so on!

And the reusable ones are not that sturdy and there rip and shred too…so where do they end up? Same places as the very bags they were supposed to be better than.

    1. You are too sweet to say I am famous. I am thankful to you and all who read my silly little blog. I am glad you use turmeric. I know, those other bags do rip easily and you don’t want ripping when dealing with poop. 🙂 XO

  16. You and Mom agree on that quiet time. Mom wishes Misty May would buy into that. She believes you will become famous for your wonderful books. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  17. We so agree awnty Ellen. Bein’ Bible believers, we think all this green stuffs is nonsense. We know the planet won’t be derstroyed by man at all. We luv our plastic bags fur litter depawsits too. Big hugs

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  18. I guess not enough people are re-using their plastic bags like many of us do. Good job by you! As usual, the many have to pay for the sins of the few! I’m not a fan of plastic, but it does have its place, I think.
Luke gets turmeric every day in his food, and I’m planning on starting to take it myself as well.

  19. Fantastic fill-ins! I’ve been meaning to try turmeric, given all the benefits I’ve heard it can provide. The bold color of it has always confused and kind of scared me, and perhaps that’s why I haven’t tested it out yet. I really need to. We won’t ever stop sending purrs and prayers to sweet Noel!

    1. Thank you for the purrs and prayers. I take a supplement so I don’t see the color 🙂
