Friendly Fill-Ins Week 113

Hi everyone! Time for The Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.

1. As a child, I feared ______________.

2. Friday the 13th _____________________.

3. I think _________ is my best quality.

4. You can’t go wrong with _________.
My answers:
1. When I was a child, I feared the dark. I still like a night-light on at night.
2. Friday the 13th is a day like any other, no bad luck. I am very superstitious except for Friday the 13th and black cats.
3. I think my sensitivity is my best quality.
4. You can’t go wrong with adopting a cat- or two or more 🙂
Joanie was pretty tired at the end of The Great One’s visit. We didn’t go to Build-A-Bear because my niece saw on Facebook that they had closed off the line at 300. I assume that was all they had for inventory. I did get a voucher in my email for $15 off so we will go soon. I don’t think waiting in a line for hours would have been fun at all.

We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday

  1. Once again we are so much alike! I have no fear of Friday the 13th or black cats. However, I do have lucky pajamas and wish on the first star each night. I only believe in things that are actually real to me. Bahahahaha!

    1. I have a lot of superstitions too like wishing on a truck loaded with hay 🙂

  2. I think the fear of the dark is very common in many people. I am not afraid of the dark so much as I am afraid of what I can’t see in the dark. Things like snakes, etc. Have a blessed week.

    1. Snakes-ick! I am very afraid of them. I hope you have a blessed week too.

  3. I’m sorry that you folks didn’t get to go to Build-a-Bear today. I look forward to hearing all about it when you do get to go. 🙂

I am not scared of the dark, but am very afraid of what/who could be lurking in it. The “who” scares me more than the “what”.

I think that sensitivity is a wonderful quality to have. 🙂

    Have a blessed weekend.

  4. Great fill-ins…..! Your sensitivity is an outstanding quality my friend…….you know I saw on the news this morning that the Build-A-Bear promotion was out of control in a lot of places so probably good you didn’t stand in line for that one !!

    Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)

  5. Girlfriend, you do look totally worn out. Rest up for the next visit.

We’re sorry you had to skip the BaB but it does sound like total insanity. Mom intensely dislikes crowds too. And the dark. She sleeps with multiple battery operated candles, plus her Pillow Pet that puts stars on the ceiling.

    1. Mom just checked out the Bear headlines. What a mess. Seems like the company is doing the best it can though. Sometimes these things just get derailed.

    2. She has a week to recover 🙂 I don’t blame her, I would do the same if I lived alone.

  6. As long as there are no allergies or other extenuating circumstances, i agree everyone should have a cat or two.

Lines are not fun, and somehow i thought this particular promotion would backfire. You offer people that much of a bargain, and it gets wild with people fighting to take advantage of it.

  7. Sensitivity is an excellent quality, and one that I think is often underrated. I saw on the news that Build a Bear was overwhelmed yesterday, so it’s a good thing you decided not to go. 🙂

  8. I saw on the news they had to turn away tons of people from that Build a Bear deal. That was too bad.Glad you all had fun with the Great One. Have a good day today too.

  9. 1. As a child, I feared the “boogie man” and the dark.
    2. Friday the 13th doesn’t bother me. Wonder how it came about.
    3. I think my sense of humor is my best quality.
    4. You can’t go wrong with home made cookies.
    Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Sense of humor is important. I hope you have a nice weekend too.

  10. Great fill ins. I’m usually superstitious, but not of black cats. That’s never been one of my things. We had similar answers to #4. Not exactly the same, but similar.

I wouldn’t have waited in a long line either.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Same here, I am superstitious in most things.I hope you have a good weekend too.

  11. I don’t like standing in line, either! Purrticularly if I have to stand outside in the heat (it was 92, yesterday).
Excellent answers and thank you for hosting this blog hop.
    Purrseidon >^.^<

  12. Joanie needs a nap after all that activity. No waiting in line for hours wouldn’t be fun at all.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. My best to your mom. ♥

  13. That is some line up for Create a bear. We had Create a bear up in Canada too and it was a great success.

Like your fill-ins Sammy and others.

    Shoko and Tyebe

  14. I love your fill-in answers! Friday the 13th is a day like any other for me, too. I’m not superstitious at all. Can’t agree more with answer #4 🙂

  15. I always look forward to your fill-ins. We had the same fear as a child. I think the darkness just holds too much unknown for children sometimes. I always look forward to Friday the 13th, just like I always get excited when I see a black cat. There’s certainly nothing unlucky about them. And sensitivity is indeed one of your many, many fine qualities. And you are certainly right with #4!

It sounds Build-A-Bear was a very popular place yesterday. We hope you and The Great One get the chance to go soon! But it looks like The Great One didn’t even need Build-A-Bear to have fun yesterday, because she had Joanie! Happy Friday!

  16. Our local news covered the lines of people waiting at Build-A-Bear, and I was glad to NOT being anywhere near that craziness! Can you imagine, standing there with your little ones in their strollers…for hours? EEK!
“You can’t go wrong with adopting a cat- or two or more…” Oh yeah, 100% agreement on this!

  17. We loved the great fill-ins that you shared. The photo is very cute. At least next time you will have plenty of time to go to Build-A-Bear. Waiting in line would be very exhausting. Have a safe Friday the 13th. Be on the lookout for any black cats, but don’t worry you will be ok. Have a joyous weekend.

  18. Build a bear was a mob scene here in Raleigh. The line horrendous and all in front of other store’s entrances. I think they better re think another event of this magnitude. I’m glad you all didn’t get in that crowd. Use the voucher at your leisure and enjoy the experience
    Hugs Cecilia

  19. Is that a Build-a-Joanie? She looks adorable there! I did not know about this Build-A-Bear promotion, but it sounds like maybe a blessing that you didn’t go. I personally hate lines. I love your response to #4!

  20. There are nightlights all over this house. They used to be for the kids when they were little. Now they are for the old folks here so they don’t trip in the dark:)

That whole Build-A-Bear was a nightmare waiting to happen. There had to be a better way. Glad you got your voucher.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  21. Poor Joannie. Was Build-a-Bear having a going out of business sale? TW holds it against them cos one of the guys who bought the last company she worked for and ruined it was one of the starters of Build a Bear. She won’t see Jersey Boys for the same reason.

  22. I didn’t like the dark as a little girl either but now I prefer complete darkness at night. Which can be dangerous with mostly black cats around 😉

  23. That Build a Bear idea was crazy. I guess the advertising department forgot the sentence “to the first 10 customers” (or however many).

  24. Oh Joanie looks so cute. Sorry ’bout the bear thing. But, we wouldn’t wanna stand in line either. Big hugs

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  25. 1. As a child, I feared the nuns at my school.
    2. Friday the 13th used to kind of freak me out but now not at all.
    3. I think my sense of humor is my best quality.
    4. You can’t go wrong with a handful of peanut M&Ms… or purple sunglasses!

I definitely agree with you on your #3 and 4! Joanie did have a very busy day! That picture makes me smile.. 🙂

    1. Thank you for these great answers. My mom and sister went to parochial school, but my mom didn’t send me because she knew I was too sensitive to deal with nuns. Funny thing is now I am good friends with 2 nuns I met while teaching CCD.
A Sense of humor is a good thing to have. Joanie will have her purple sunglasses soon. Goad Joanie’s photo makes you smile, it makes me smile too , she is such a sweetie. XO

  26. I can’t imagine standing in line all that time for anything!
Friday the 13th doesn’t bother me at all either, it’s just another day!
