B is For Basil and Bailey

Hi everyone! Today is brought to you by the letter B ( I admit, I have been watching Sesame Street). I have 2 books to tell you about today and Spooky is here to help.

I also want to tell you about Bailey Boat Cat. I am on the board at The Museum of Maritime Pets and Bailey is our Ambassador at Sea. His book is perfect for children and adults, it is filled with wonderful photos of Bailey on his boat, Nocturne. I had no idea how many cats lived on boats until Bailey started conducting weekly interviews with several of these kitties. Bailey’s book can be purchased through the museum gift shop.

this week. Keeping with our B theme we have Phoebe being petted by a baby. My great-niece is super cute, but I cropped her out because I think only parents should post photos of their kids. I did leave her adorable hand though. PhoebebandbabyCaturday Art

  5. Great books, fun too!

    Sweet Phoebe, you reminded meowmy of when her own boys were wee babies, too…then she would take their tiny hands and help them to pet the two kitties we had at that time, Angel Groucho and Angel Simba. She would say/chant…nice kitty, soft kitty…..my goodness those boys are in their twenties, now, MOL!!

    1. It is good to get kids used to being gentle around pets at an early age. Her kitties won’t come near her yet though.

  11. We agree with you – children’s photos should only be posted with permission of their parents (and themselves when they are old enough). We weren’t familiar with those books – thanks for sharing!

  13. I have Bailey’s book and really enjoyed it. It still “blows” M’s mind that he’s happy living on a boat. She would be so afraid I’d jump overboard at sea and in port! he he, but then she’s a worry wart!

    1. I would be the same as your Mom and worry all the time. I would have my cat on a leash most of the time.
