Are You a Good Mouser?

Hi everyone! I know there are a lot of good mouse hunters out there so I thought I would tell you about a contest that VictorPest is having, there are 3 prizes and the top one is $500- think of all the catnip you could buy with that. All you need to do is submit a 15-20 second video of your cat mouse hunting , entries are open until September 15th. Click here to go to the entry form. This is our entry:

Tomorrow we are joining a September Challenge with a question a day about our teen years, it sounds like fun. Here is the link if you want to check it out.

Don’t forget that Winnie’s Wish still has an auction running with all kinds of great items.

  1. What’s hunting? My food appears several time a day, warmed to the perfect temperature in a fluffy pile on a plate.

    1. You are a lucky kitty. Do you ever pretend to hunt with a toy mouse- that counts 🙂

  2. Astrid is our resident mouser, and we actually have lots of photos with her and mouse, but no video. Phooey! XOCK, Lilly Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  3. Wow, look at you go! Get that mouse!

Our Gracie is a pretty good mouser, too. We’ll have to see about trying to capture her skills on video.

  4. I actually DO have a video of me mouse hunting – a REAL mouse! Except my human says it looks more like I’m making friends with it. Well. Maybe I’ll submit it anyway.

  5. Looks like another great mouser to become famous! Maybe you’ll be invited to 10 Downing Street to meet England’s official mouser! Mom read the questions and she’s going to pawticipate on her art blog!! Thanks for the link to a new and fun challenge!

  6. I’ve never caught a real mouse (thankfully we’ve never had one in the house!) but I used to be very good at playing with my toy mousies…….that’s a cool contest though!

    Hugs, Sammy

  7. What a fun contest! Thank you for letting us know about this! I don’t know what we’d do without friends like you to keep us on track with such fun things like this.

And we love Winnie’s Wish auction. Such great items, and for such a great cause! We’ve nabbed some great items items (we love our kitty Troll bead!), and are always checking back to see what wonderful new items there are. Thank you for bringing awareness to it!

  8. I am a very good mouser and my mum has videos of me catching them. Because I live in the UK, that will rule me out of the competition.

    1. I am not sure if it is just US residents, you are top mouser in the world 🙂 XO

  9. The ‘O’ cats are great hunters; the inside kitties not so much. Don’t think I want to make a video of Patty O’Malley making a snack in my backyard from some poor creature…yuck!

  10. That sounds like a fun contest. I need to convince my boys to show some hunting skills when I’m recording 🙂

  11. yeah… we really aren’t good mousers here. At all. One time we did have a vermin in the house and just stared at it. Mom has never let us live that down. She ended up sweeping it out of the front door with a broom. and the plugged up its mouse hole.

  12. guys…bak in mee yooth, N bee fore videe oh fonez, N bee for eye gived up life on de streetz, & mooved inn side; eye waz a total lee awesum mouzer !!!

    trooth 🙂 ☺☺☺♥♥♥

    butter lover boomer o cat

thatz a grate moovee snowball, best fishes two ewe…we hope ya win a prize !!!!♥♥♥

  13. Georgie and Sly Pie would be great mousers. Being ground dwellers, they don’t care much for Da Bird but any mouse toy brings out their excellent mouser skills 🙂

  14. Aaaaaaaw Dat’s a cute video. You should see Raena play with dat toy. She’s not sure what she’s ‘posed to do. MOL We’ll have to check out da contest tho’, we could use some green papers.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  15. Do you think chasing frogs would count? They’re out playing in the rain & Purrseidon wants to join them… Mr. M hasn’t been seen since breakfast, but I’m confident he will appear for dinner.

  16. We definitely think you should win that contest! Ivan’s the best (toy) mouser in our clan but he has a habit of whapping it under the stove. If Elliott gets to play with it, he brings it to Mom as a present.

  17. Thanks for the shout out, Ellen. 🙂 I am looking forward to this challenge. I am hoping that it sparks lots of memories for people and some smiles along the way, too.

The mousing contest is a neat idea. I’ve never seen a mouse like in that video before. Good luck!

    Have a blessed day. 🙂

    1. The mouse in the video is a toy we won on another blog 🙂 I am looking forward to your challenge.

  18. My computer won’t let me see your mouser videoo, but i’ll bet you are fabulous at it! The cats here don’t get much chance to chase mice, but they love to chase bugs that get in the house.

  19. Well, I brought 5 mousies up to the deck in one day, so I guess that it pretty good. But I cant imagine how TBT would get video of that. Beins are so loud and stompy that no mousies would stay aboveground if they were close. And it did take several hours! ~ MARLEY

  20. The kitty trying to catch the mechanical mouse is cute. It is very interesting to watch a cat kill a snake, too. Somehow the cat hypnotizes the snake and the snake does not know what got him.

    1. I have never seen that, all my cats are inside. I don’t even allow fake snakes, they would scare me.

  21. Hmmm, we seem to have gotten out of the habit of mouse games of late, enjoying wand toys and that elusive red dot a bit more…and meowmy is oh so klutzy with video recordings, she has nevfur even posted one…but it does look like a fun contest! Thanks for sharing that with us all:)
