Hi everyone! Did you miss me last week?
My tip today is more of a superstition. Did you know that if you give someone a gift of a purse or wallet that you are supposed to put money in it for good luck? I recommend you put a penny in because you already spent money on a gift so no need to give a larger amount.
Mom bought The Great One a unicorn purse last week when they went (pre)school clothes shopping, Mom put a penny in it and boy did The Great One get mad at her- she didn’t want a penny in her new purse, she had other things to put in it. She ended up giving the penny to her mom for doing a good workout 🙂

That Great One is sure pretty though! 🙂
Thank you 🙂 XO
Yes I missed you Penny. You got u\put aside more than one week!
Thank you 🙂 XO
I knew about the money in the purse thing. I gave away a purse and put an old penny in it!
Glad you knew about it 🙂
Wait, where are the pennies in my purses?!!?
Good point- you need one in each.
We didn’t know about putting pennies in purses.
Mummy says you are welcome to jump into HER (furry large) purse any time, Penny (lol).
I wish I could ,but my mom doesn’t let me travel. XO
Hmm, as many purses as my momma has that could add up!
MOL! 🙂
My brother’s always been a bit … liberal with money. When my nephew was born, I decided to encourage him to do the opposite. I got him a piggy bank that’s actually a stuffed pig – and it oinks when you drop in a coin. Of course, I couldn’t give it to him empty. He loved that thing for YEARS.
That was a cool gift. My great- niece has a huge piggy bank and it is full with coin and paper money- she has a lot of grandparents 🙂
Gosh a penny is BIG MONEY (or used to be) to little ones but then times certainly have changed. She would have been impressed with a five dollar bill I bet! HAHA
Hugs, Teddy
Yes, I bet she would not have been mad about that 🙂 XO
My Mom did the money thing for a gift of a purse. I remember clearly having a penny, maybe a dime in the Villager purse I wanted so badly. It had my monogram and boy did I think I was something… Hahaha. I wouldn’t mind a purse like that again. My Grandma did the money thing, too. Gotta kind of laugh at The Great One… she knows what she wants! You were missed Penny!
That is sweet that your mom and grandma did that too. XO
Hi there Penny. That sure is a good tip. You all have a fabulous day.
Thank you 🙂 I hope you had a great day too. XO
I’ve never heard of this before. What a fun idea.
Thank you 🙂
Of course you put in a penny! Only a shiny pretty one though, round and small …
not the fluffy furry sweet one like you!
Good point 🙂 XO
That’s a darn good tip and a wise one too!
Thank you 🙂
A penny for your thoughts! I sure missed you Penny!
Thank you 🙂
I didn’t know about putting money in a purse or wallet. I’ve learned something new today.
Love those laser eyes.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥
Glad you learned something from me 🙂 XO
Those are some super duper laser eyes Penny.
Dad told us about getting a penny in his wallets when he was a boy. I think today kids would want a bit of spendable plastic MOL
Thank you 🙂 Yes, plastic goes further 🙂 XO
Ya know what, Penny? I DO remember that you’re supposed to put money inside of a gift purse, but I’d forgotten until now. And I think a penny is purrfect, ’cause a penny saved is a penny earned. The Great One is too small to understand that now, but she will learn.
Glad you had heard of it 🙂
I did miss you! I’m sorry she didn’t appreciate the coin.
Thank you 🙂
I did know that. Maybe it comes from 18 years working in Retail but I always considered a purse or handbag well a personal purchase. What I mean is each person has different tastes and preferences and always suggested jewelry or clothing. That’s just my opinion. Keep the good tips coming.
Thank you 🙂 The Great One picked it out , mom just paid for it.
I didn’t know that! Marvelous idea!
Thank you 🙂
Mom has always abided by that superstition. Tell the Great One to save that penny, 100 of them will get her a green paper.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Glad she knew about it 🙂
That’s a great tip and I’ve done that too!
Glad someone has heard of it 🙂
We did not know that! That’s very cool, and good advice about putting the penny in!
Thank you 🙂
I’d never heard that!
We are very superstitious. 🙂
Littles get some fun and funny ideas, don’t they. Great tip, i will remember to put a cent in if i ever give someone a purse or wallet, and i will tell them it is the start of their fortune if they save it and bunches more!
Glad you like the tip 🙂
We would love to get a purse with a Penny in it but we don’t think your mom would let you go!
Sorry, she won’t 🙂
That’s a great tip, Penny! We’d love if we got a purse with YOU in it. 🙂
MOL! My mom won’t let me. Sorry. XO
I did not know this…but we got a knife for a present once, and there was a penny taped to the box. For good luck as I recall.,
I thought it was bad luck to give a knife or scissors as a gift because it means the relationship will break so maybe the penny stops that. I know I am nuts 🙂 XO
Oh my goodness, this story about The Great One just made my day. I thought you were going to say she was hoping for more than a penny, but apparently a penny was too much for her purse! Penny, I bet The Great One would have been happy to find fluffy you in her purse. Especially with laser eyes as stunning as yours!
That is a good point 🙂 XO
I did not know about that superstition. So thanks for letting me know, Penny. The Great One is to funny!
You’re welcome 🙂
Chaplin: “Hmm sounds like that old saying, ‘A penny saved is a penny spurned.'”
Charlee: “I don’t think that’s how the saying goes, but it seems appropriate this time.”
MOL! 🙂
