The A-Z Blogging Challenge-O

Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link ( see below) to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. I can’t wait for ________________________ to reopen after the quarantine.
2. I am in no hurry for ___________________________ to reopen after the quarantine.
3. These days, _________ is my default mood.
4. Have I ever told you _________?
My answers:
1. I can’t wait for the library to reopen after the quarantine.
2. I am in no hurry for sports to reopen after the quarantine. Sorry sports fans, but I am enjoying not having The Red Sox on 6 days a week.
3. These days, sadness is my default mood. My heart breaks for all those families who have lost loved ones and didn’t even get to say goodbye or be with them as they passed.
4. Have I ever told you that I want to meet Nicolas Cage?  It is the only thing on my bucket list.
We are up to the letter O in The A-Z Blogging Challenge. Back in 2016, I wrote about Oscar, the cat that lived in a nursing home and could predict when someone was going to pass away. To read my review on that book, click here.
Drake is posing with this year’s selection-
For this year, I have another Oscar- Oscar : The Bionic Cat by Kate Allan. Oscar lost his 2 back feet when he was run over by a combine harvester while napping in a field. He was only two when it happened so he was able to get 2 bionic feet. His story is amazing, but the ignorance of his owners drove me crazy. Before that accident, he was run over by cars TWICE and they still didn’t keep him inside. The book was published in 2013, I tried to find updates online, but I couldn’t find anything past 2017. I hope he is still doing well.
And today is the day Penny has been waiting for, the first official Tortoiseshell Appreciation Day started by Ingrid King of The Conscious Cat Blog. To read about it, click here.
She gets a tiara and wand for the day.  Plus she got a new catnip banana.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am very curious about the 2 marriage certificates 🙂 XO

      1. Got married in Canada, and again in the USA to fulfill my green card requirements…

  2. The Bionic Cat book was a great read and well-done to Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick for giving Oscar his bionic feet but you are right about the owners.

  3. Penny – Happy Tortie Day! You look beautiful in your crown. I must say even though we haven’t read that book about the kitty with bionic feet, we think it was very sad that his owners didn’t keep him indoors since he had a THING for accidents. As for your wish to meet Nic Cage – seems to me we might (might) have heard about that before???!! Happy Friday to all of you – and stay safe, happy and healthy PLEEEEEZE!

    Love, Teddy (and Mom)

    1. Penny thanks you. We pray you stay safe too. XO and love to you and your mom.

  4. I totally agree with you about #2, but here the BBC still fills there schedules with old supposedly classic football matches instead of putting on more films etc. As for #4, erm yes, I do think I recall you mentioning it before. 🙂

  5. Happy Tortie Appreciation Day, Penny! I don’t think I could read the book about the bionic cat right now because I feel much like you, his owners make me angry. I wouldn’t want to read about what happened to him. My Fill-Ins…

    1. Thank you for your great answers. I miss the library, I have to read my Kindle lately , but I prefer books. Have a nice weekend. XO

  6. Happy Tortoiseshell Cat Appreciation Day! The tiara and wand are appropriate.

Oscar sounds like a fabulous cat, his owners sound like they need to get a clue.

  7. Happy Tortie Appreciation Day.

Your answer to #4 was no surprise to us!!

  8. Ellen,

I don’t care for much of the spring time sports. DH does enjoy watching NASCAR and I’ll sorta watch with him while I doodle. For him, I’m sorry he can’t catch a race on TV these days. It’s sad the number of lost lives this virus as well as the flu and any all other related deaths this year. Unfortunately dying is part of the life cycle. We know it’s gonna happen to us all but don’t know when our number in life will get called. Saying prayers for everyone to stay well and for those who are grieving a loss – truly sad! It’s a shame it’s taken a pandemic to sorta wake people up. Great fill-in responses. Sending love & hugs to you, my dear!

  9. The nasty virus has caused so much sadness!!
Too funny about sports 6 days a week.
MOL Ellen your desire to meet Nicholas Cage is about as shocking as the fact that I love RED!!

  10. Meowser Ms. Ellen those were good questions. Thank you for hosting this blog hop.

  11. It is tough to be upbeat these days. ~hugs~ I don’t miss sports, either, though enjoyed Cleveland baseball for a couple of years in the mid nineties. The team was actually good (!) and I can still recall some of the players’ names. Drake and Penny both look adorable. 🙂 And I, too, want to smack those ignorant people. I wonder if that kitty is deaf. Then again, farm machinery like that would be felt as much as heard. Very strange. Thanks for sharing and take care, my dear.

    1. I don’t think Oscar is deaf, i think he was sound asleep when it happened.

  12. Love all your fill-ins. I knew about Nicholas Cage. Anyone that knows you knows about Cage. Good for you.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Hug to the mom and scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  13. I do hope you get to meet Nicholas Cage one day 🙂 Yes, sadness describes me at times too.

    Take care and stay safe.

  14. Your answers are spot on….and I cannot believe that poor cat was not kept safe in his home.
Have a lovely day! Be safe!

  15. Haha, I’m not in hurry for sports to reopen, either, but it must be very hard for the fans.
Penny is very pretty in her tiara!

  16. Oscar has used up all of his lives!
I get the sads too, so I pop in my earbuds and listen to my audiobook and let my brain take a rest.
Have you written Mr. Cage a fan letter, or reached out on FB, IG or Twitter?

    1. Yes, Oscar has used up a lot of lives.
I will have to try to write to Nic.

  17. Great choice for the letter O 🙂
    Happy Tortie Day Penny!!!
    You look marvelous <3
    Purrs,Georgia and Julie

  18. I hope you’re able to meet Nic Cage one day. I will be so happy for you when that day comes! I didn’t know about Tortoiseshell Appreciation Day, so now Olive is very mad at me.

  20. I can’t wait for our church to reopen. I am in no hurry for businesses to reopen that draw people away from God and their families. These days peace is pretty much my default mode. Have I ever told you that I’m so thankful to know the Lord, especially at times like this.

  21. Very good fill ins, Elen. You and Nicholas Cage…. Yes, we knew you are a fan. We didn’t know it was on your bucket list though.

    Tyebe

  22. Fantastic fill-ins! Now I wish I had thought of that for #2. Sports are definitely not my thing, so going without them wouldn’t bug me at all. And I am still holding out hope that you will meet Nicolas Cage. It could happen! Oh, and bionic Oscar sounds like such a purrfect little fella! I also hope he is doing well these days. Purrs, prayers, and well wishes to all of you!

  23. Binga, You sure were a gorgeous Tortie. Good to see your pictures.

  24. Those were good O choices and Penny, you deserve that tiara! We liked your answers, true enough for the times.

  25. You look like a queen, Penny! I’ve never heard of the Oscar book. Would Nic Cage be safe around you? Conway sure wouldn’t have been with me! LOL

    1. Penny thanks you. I am not sure about Nic, I am married, but he would be hard to resist 🙂

  26. yes! We want the libraries to reopen soon too!!! Thanks for reminding us about Tortie Appreciation day! Penny looks regal and beautiful-you are right I should have definitely got Amarula a crown!

  27. Mom doesn’t miss sports at all either, at least on the TV, but she knows the grands would love to be able to play their baseball and basketball games. Dad will be happy when he can go to the movie theater again.

But we all know none of that can happen until it is really safe.

    Woos, Lightning and Timber

  28. Happy Tortie Appreciation Day Penny. TW is at odds with you over sports but she wouldn’t want to see the Red Sox either. MOL!

  29. From Toffee the cat:
    1. I can’t wait for the old man’s workplace to reopen after the quarantine – he’s under my paws all day long – and he sings too loudly and disturbs my sleep.
    2. I am in no hurry for Rajah’s cat flap to reopen. He’s the stupid cat who lives next door.
    3. These days being annoyed is my default mood. Mind you, it’s been my default mood since the day I was born.
    4. Have I ever told you that I actually quite like my old man and old woman? Sshh, don’t tell them or they’ll get ideas above their station.
    Not So Sweet Toffee
    That’s Purrfect

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Rajah/Percy must miss you 🙂 I figured you like the old folks 🙂 XO

  30. Mom and dad are right there with that #1 Library answer! Stay safe and enjoy the weekend.

  31. I’m with you on the sports! Someone else mentioned hair salons and that’s what I need right now too! I was just getting ready to make an appointment for a cut when everything had to close down.

    1. Me too. My bangs are so long and I am going to have to dye my hair myself.

  32. I hope you do get to meet Nicolas Cage one day! I know how happy that would make you. xo
