Hi everyone. We want to give our condolences to Roxy’s family. I used to follow Roxy and Tigerlino’s blog, Purrfect Kitties so I was sad to see Roxy left for The Bridge. To visit her family, click here.

Penny and Millie are thankful that they each have box. I am thankful that Penny hasn’t chosen to pee in either one -yet.

A long time ago, in my younger years
I enjoyed going to the drive-in with my peers.
Watching movies like The Breakfast Club
and eating lots of  greasy grub.
Now I prefer to be inside
I can do without a joyride.

  4. Great poem! Those of us who remember drive-ins usually have a few stories to share (as well as some to keep to ourselves…haha). Looks like you have “twin boxers” with Penny and Millie ! Thanks for doing poetry sharing with us – we love reading everybody’s poems.

  10. My parents used to take us to the drive in once in a while. Nice memories, and i am happy Penny is enjoying her box so far.

  11. I’m so sad for Roxy’s family. And bad Penny! ~shakes finger~ I adored going to the drive-in theater with my first love. Sometimes we steamed up the windows too much to see the movie. ~grin~ Be well, my dears. I look forward to tomorrow’s fill-ins, especially number three.

  20. Boxes! Nothing beats boxes. I wonder how long it will be until you give that box a proper welcome, Penny. And your poem is fantastic! I’m like you these days, much preferring to stay home than go out and about. After all, home is where the kitties are! I can’t wait to see your fill-ins tomorrow!

  21. Two boxes–awesome! I am trying to remember if I ever went to a drive-in theater. I feel like maybe I have, but it would have been when I was very young. 🙂

    1. There was one in the next town until I left for college. There is still one about 45 minutes away, but I prefer indoors now. 🙂

  22. I was heartbroken when I got the blog post about Roxy. So sad. ….and…like you I adore The Breakfast Club. I have seen it at least 30 times.

    1. I have seen it a lot, but not quite that often. Nic Cage movies though, I have seen some of those at least 30 times.

  25. Two boxes for two pretty girls!

    Our mom remembers the real old drive-in days where you’d have to hang a sound box on a car window. Once, when she and her sisters went with their mom to see West Side Story, her mom got so mad at the movie that she drove off about 20 minutes in without removing the box. That was kind of an expensive movie.

    1. That is quite a story, I remember those sound boxes too and later you just had to tune the radio to a station.

  31. Oh, the drive-ins were fun though, weren’t they? Now that we’re older the comfy couch does seem like a better option though!
