Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

I am thankful for more time with my great-nieces and nephew.  When we get there, they race to the door to call dibs on who gets to play with me first. I try to do crafts and games we can all do together, but they like their one-on one time. The Great One likes me to hang out in her room with her, Typhoid Mary likes to make videos of us playing dolls and The Boy likes crafts and for me to throw the ball for him to catch. All three cats show up too, probably because they know I will sneak them a snack.

Tuffy is thankful to have most of his mats gone. He still has a couple but not like before. Isn’t he handsome?

I was so busy with Christmas in July that I forgot to write a poem.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1.My plans for August include _____________ and ________________.
2. I am a type ___________________ personality.
           3. If _________ were a currency, I would be rich.

  1. Sounds like fun all around with your nieces and nephew, Ellen! Tuffy looks happy, and very handsome! XO

  2. Tuffy does look great. Since he doesn’t like to be handled how did you get the mats off of him? I was glad to see that you’re still playing dolls with one of the girls. I’m jealous.

    1. The vet and her tech shaved him when they were here last week. I play whenever she wants because I know it won’t be much longer that she doesn’t want to play dolls. XO

  3. How fun your great-nieces and nephew appreciate you. Tuffy looks very handsome and relaxed, When our, Angel Amanda was given to us, she was totally matted. I took her to a vet, and they got rid of the mats, and actually had to cut her fur short. After that, we were able to keep her fur from matting by brushing her consistently. I love all cats, but I am grateful Callie is a short-haired cat.

    1. I am sure Amanda was happy to be mat free too. I wish I could brush Tuffy, but he is feral. It took a lot of effort for the vet and tech to get him shaved. XO

  4. Awww, I understand how you feel about your great-nieces and nephew meeting you at the door excited to see you. You ARE a fun Aunt, Ellen! I am delighted that your family embraces and loves cats! Tuffy is indeed a handsome ginger boy. I can tell he is thankful to be rid of the mats just looking at him in the photo🧡

    1. Taking care of Ellen’s poem today… that was so sweet… and cute.

  6. Funny; we call Chili Bruce ‘Mat’ because he loves to lay around on the mat at the front door!
Okay, not funny, but since Tuffy is now feeling good, it just jumped into my noggin.

  7. Tuffy, I am so glad you had those shaved off! Ask your siblings to help you groom, why don’t you? If they keep your back bathed…maybe those mats will be less likely to form.
Loved knowing how visits go. No surprises there! You are the very best Aunt there is. Ands that is my sincere thought. XX

    1. I wish they would help him Ethel and Bridget groom each other, they should include him. Thank you for your kind words. XO
