Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I have many thankfuls this week. First, I am thankful to you all for the love and support on the loss of Penny. I am thankful we had 14 wonderful years with Penny. I am thankful for the extra weeks we had with her.

I am also thankful that Typhoid Mary received her First Communion and my mom and I were there to see it- 4 generations of my family in church. I am thankful for the village the kids have that are always there for them. There were 17 of us in church for her.

And the cats are thankful that their dad shares his rotisserie chicken with them.

I skipped the poem again- maybe next week.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I think the word or phrase ____________________ is overused.

2. I am embarrassed to admit that I _______________________.
3. I wish I could convince _________ to _________.
4. I could _________ even if I were blindfolded.

  1. So wonderful for Typhoid Mary to have so many there for her! And how nice for the kitties to have that chicken, they do look happy about it! XO

  2. Oh how wonderful. Four generations together for that event. So binding and lovely for a family. And we LOVED My Friend Joanie!

  3. That’s wonderful about the first Holy Communion. I remember mine. What I remember best is the beautiful dress and veil I got to wear. The religious meaning was sort of lost on me.

    1. Thank you. Yes, for girls it is about the dress. She was pretty happy with all the cash too. 🙂

  4. Brody, Brody! I see you eatin’ chickie with yer dad! Yum, I can just about taste it.
Lynn says that was a wonderful family turnout fur the First Communion!

  5. Four generations is wonderful. You have a lot to be thankful for, and that’s a cute pic of dad and the kitties.

  6. How lovely for the first communion. And that everyone was there for her. Surrounded by love, and the meaning with the Communion.

I was re-baptised as an adult twenty years ago! All the remaining family showed up. That was so cool! 🙂

  7. More big healing hugs, my wonderful friend.

Yay on the first communion. Such wonderful support.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Love and hugs to you and scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  8. Congratulations to Typhoid Mary on celebrating her first holy communion. No doubt she felt the joy and love of her family’s support as she begins her spiritual journey. How wonderful that four generations were there to celebrate the occasion with her.

    1. Thank you. We are blessed, mostly. I wish my sister were still alive to have been there. XO

  9. It’s wonderful that Typhoid Mary had all of you there for her First Holy Communion. Your family is so supportive of one another. Brody, Trouble and Ginger Who? together having chicken. Ellen, your Hubby is such a good man.

    1. Thank you. Rudy- he is the most interested in chicken. Thank you- I agree about my hubby. XO

  10. I’m thankful you gave Penny such a wonderful life.

Your family is doing things right.

Dad looks like the treat guy, same as at our house.

  11. Mudpie is jealous of that rotisserie chicken! (She’s far from abused. She has a baked chicken breast of her very own in the fridge as we speak!)

  12. Sounds like you had a wonderful celebration with extended family.
We recently acquired a rotisserie chicken cooker and mom wants to try it out soon.

  13. When I got baptized as a Protestant teen there was zero cash; I feel ripped off. LOL Thank you for this wonderful, heartwarming post. Hugs, my dear.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 That is so unfair. I didn’t make mine until I was 10 because my mom was turned off from the church and I had to ask to be baptized and make my first communion. Zoe did far better than most taking in over $800. XO
