Friendly Fill-Ins Week 520

Hi everyone. Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. I think the word or phrase ____________________ is overused.
2. I am embarrassed to admit that I _______________________.
3. I wish I could convince _________ to _________.
4. I could _________ even if I were blindfolded.
My answers:
1. I think the word or phrase amazing is overused.
2. I am embarrassed to admit that I am a Swiftie. I blame Typhoid Mary.
3. I wish I could convince my husband to get an in-law addition on our house. I want my mom to live with us, but she wants her independence.
4. I could recognize each of my cats even if I were blindfolded.

We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.

My flashback is from May 2015, Angel Penny was feeling patriotic.

  1. Such a cute picture of Angel Penny! Interesting answers! I think I could recognize my cats blindfolded too! They all have such distinctive quirks of behavior … XO

  2. Sweet photo of a sweet Angel…….I have to admit, Taylor is talented, caring, and honest……you don’t always find those qualities in STARS! Enjoyed all your filling in fun and THANKS for being a co-host for this weekly exercise in filling in the blanks….

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy

  3. When I was younger the overused word was cool. Now everywhere I turn people were saying the word awesome. I guess we go through spells don’t wait. Penny was a sweetie, certainly feels that saying Pennies from Heaven.

  4. I agree the word amazing, and a few other words are overused.
I like Taylor Swift too. She’s extremely talented, and seems like a good person.
I wish I could convince my husband to declutter.
Such a sweet pic of Angel Penny.

  5. I always wished my mom lived closer (like next door) to me. It was only a 15 minute drive but I felt better when I knew she was ok. She also liked her freedom. She had no intention of moving in with me even though I was living by myself (with some cats) at the time.

  6. Gosh, Penny looks so relaxed there! I think you interrupted her nap.
    1. I think the word “awesome!” is overused. Seems sales people and receptionists are taught to constantly say it as we answer their inquiries.
    2. I’m embarrassed to admit I never could or did, lean to knit and crochet.
    3. I wish I could convince people to enjoy their friendships without worrying which “side” they are on.
    4. I could make my breakfast even with a blind fold on!

  7. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Your first one cracked me up Teddy. And I wish we could slow time too. XO

  8. 1. I think the word or phrase existential is overused.
    2. I am embarrassed to admit that I hate housework. Our house isn’t messy because I do housework.
    3. I wish I could convince everyone to be more kind.
    4. I could find hubby in a crowded room even if I were blindfolded.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-Ins.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches to the kitties and a hug to mom. ♥

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I don’t like housework and I am sure your house is much cleaner than mine. XO

  11. Aww, Angel Penny. Love this photo. I have no doubt that you could recognize each of your cats if you were blindfolded. I understand your wish to have your Mom with you, Ellen. I have to say it’s good that she wants her independence. How lucky she is to feel confident enough to live independently. It’s wonderful you have such a close relationship with her.
    My Fill-Ins~
    1. I think the word or phrase actually is overused.
    2. I am embarrassed to admit that I still have a blankie. It’s a cabana towel I wear around my waist over my clothes at home and use it as a blanket at night. I have several of them we use for the pool.
    3. I wish I could convince myself to get out and buy some new clothes.
    4. I could clean the kitchen counters even if I were blindfolded🤭
Have a great weekend, Meowing Crew!

    1. Thank you. I am blessed. And thank you for these great answers. I have a blankie for the couch and one for under the covers in bed. 🙂 Good luck with the new clothes. Nothing is the same fabric anymore, it all seems to have spandex or something. XO

  12. It’s a fine line when we have to help our parents, we don’t want to overstep but we do want to assist.

Angel Penny was always very patriotic. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday.

  13. At least you’re willing to expand your horizons; I haven’t listened to a single Swift song. Her image being everywhere (!) fatigues me. lol Musical repetition does bring acceptance and eventually appreciation. So be kind to yourself. 🙂

I’m the same as you regarding kitty recognition. Granted, only one to three have ever taken over this house at one time but they each have so many unique traits. Hugs and best wishes, my dear.

    1. Yes, she is everywhere. Her latest album is surprisingly good. All kitties are unique and as their moms we know their special traits. XO

  14. That was a precious flashback of Angel Penny. Nice fill-ins. I’m afraid I use ‘amazing’ too often. I need to find a better word. P.S. Nothing wrong with being a Swiftie. I think she’s a pretty impressive artist and human being.

  15. Chaplin: “Our Dada says there’s nothing wrong with being a Swiftie! He likes a lot of her songs even though he only has a couple of them, and every week he posts his ‘Top Artists This Week From Last.fm’ on the big social media site just to scandalize his classic-rock-loving friends with his listening habits.”
Charlee: “Our Dada could also recognize all of us cats blindfolded. Of course there are only three of us. Chaplin has long fur, I have longer fur which is also softer, and Oona has short smooth fur and—”
Oona: “AND OONA WOULD GRAB HIS HAND AND BUNNY KICK IT IF HE STARTED BLINDLY PAWING AT HER!”
    Chaplin: “True story.”
