Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone!  We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop

Joanie  is happy to have her Gremmie back after the awful trick I played on her yesterday with Alf. We will return Alf to Grammie today.

I am thankful for Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the Three Kings-

As you know, I have an outdoor nativity that Angel Prancie showed up at years ago.

These were the only pieces I have had for over 20 years. I had been buying a little at a time and then they stopped making them. I have wanted the 3 Kings for so long and someone down the road from my house was having a tag sale Saturday and I spotted them. She would not break up the set so I have some doubles, but I got my 3 Kings and a lot of lambs and other animals. I paid $45 for 12 pieces, on Ebay each king is over $200 so I think I really scored. I can’t wait until December 🙂

We are also joining  Sammy’s Poetry Day. Here is my poem to go with this photo prompt provided by Teddy’s mom:

Should I go to the left or the right?

One side sure looks bright.

If I go the other way, I will have to duck
I would rather have a ride in a truck.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

  1. Awww, poor Joanie! MOL!!! Looks like she is sniffing Gremmie to make sure all is well…and purring sweet nothings to him:)

That is cool that you found the three kings! Now you are all set for sure!

That is a cute little poem:)

  2. That was a lucky buy getting the Three Kings.
Joanie looks much happier to have Gremmie back.

  3. We’re glad Joanie has her Gremmie back……….and also happy you scored the pieces of your Nativity (for a good price too) that you were missing. You’ll be the envy of the neighborhood at Christmas this year!! Your poem is so cute – we thought the same thing about the choice of paths – that one is dark and the other is light and making the right choice might be tough!

    Hugs, Teddy

  4. Beautiful, Ellen ~ in our minds it would not be Christmas without a nativity scene.

  5. So much to be thankful for! Thanks for spreading the gratitude! 🙂

  6. That is an amazing score! You could hardly pay $45 for two new pieces if you could find them. Win!

  7. That was a really good deal you got on your three kinds. Way to go. A wonderful thankful.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  8. I was wondering about that Alf!
It’s good that Gremmie is back…

  9. How cool that you found the pieces you needed! Having extras is not bad either.

We’re happy to see Gremmie and Joanie are back together.

  10. How wonderful you found the 3 kings! I’m happy the Joanie got her Gremmie back. Our Callie gets in real tither when she can’t find her green mouse. We have to do a major search to find it for her! 🙀

    1. Thank you 🙂 We are always searching for Rosie’s blue mousie- they are worse than kids. XO

  11. What a great prices for 3 Kings and extras. Who would have thought 20 years later your set would be complete.
    Hugs Cecilia

  12. Glad you have Gremmie back Joanie! That was luck finding such a great deal at the sale. Have a Happy Thursday.

  13. Glad Joanie has Gremmie back but really liked seeing ALF yesterday. Boy did that bring back memories. Maybe sometime have a get together with Joanie, ALF and Gremmie. Kind of like a party.

  18. MOL…that was a funny poem, Ellen. We’re glad you found what you were looking for for such a cheap purrice. I think you deserve this stroke of luck. Thank Cat you have your Gremmie back, Joanie😸Pawkisses for a Happy Thursday🐾😽💞

  19. Is that what happened, i thought Alf was moving in and wanting Joanie to take care of both of them.

Congratulations on getting the rest of the Nativity pieces.

  20. Gremmie! We sure missed you. We bet Joanie did, too. And I’m so happy you got the entire Nativity set. I have been meaning to get an outdoor Nativity for years, so I really should get to work on that. And, as always, your poem is so fun! Purrs!

  21. OMD you sure did score. Daddy fankfully gots da 3 kings the year before they quit selling them but unfortunately we nefur gots any of da animals. Mama just loves all da blow mold Chrissymas decor. It reminds her of her Granny’s yard at Chrissymas when her was young.

  22. What a fabulous find!!! The first 2 pieces in my Conway collection were bought at a neighbor’s yard sale over 20 years ago. Little did I know what it would end up snowballing into!

  23. It’s good to see Joanie and Gremmie safe. ~grin~ And hurray on your find! I don’t know what happened to my mother’s porcelain nativity figurines from Avon that I started collecting for her. ~sigh~ But I have a lovely creche that her father made. I look forward to your fill-ins and enjoyed the poem. Be well!

  24. I love the poem but I also love today’s blog! I never got a Nativity scene and I regret that all the time. Love yours and the animals too that go with it.

    1. Thank you 🙂 Check local tag sales, maybe you will be lucky too. XO

  25. So glad you have your Gremmie back, Joanie! Gremmie needs you. You were meant to have the 3 Kings, Ellen. I am glad you found them so close and that they were a good price.

    1. Thank you 🙂 I am glad I have them now too- I can’t wait until December. XO
