Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and Ten Things of Thankful.

My art today is from Toby’s mom , Sabina. She made me these two beautiful pieces for Christmas and I am very thankful.

The first is a memory box that I am planning to put Phoebe’s bikini and Crotchety Cougar hat in for safe keeping.

She also made me this beautiful book with photos of my angel kitties. I can’t even imagine how long it took to make this. I love it!

Those were my first two thankfuls. And here are the rest:

3. Our open house was a lot of fun and we ended up with 21 guests.

4. I got to spend time with my mom, niece and great-niece this week. Usually, my niece is at work, but she had the week off this week.

5. A warm house and thermal underwear- it has been below zero some days this week and will continue to be that cold for at least another week.

6. I haven’t caught the bad cold my mom has had for weeks  ( I hope she feels better soon).

7. Everyone seemed genuinely pleased with the gifts I got for them this year.

8. Thankful that I do not have to deal with traffic jams often. We went to meet my hubby’s sister for lunch the other day and the turnpike was so backed up. My hubby was more upset than I was, but I reminded him that some people have to deal with traffic every day. This was only the third time in over 25 years I can recall being in traffic with him.

9.Bargains- I scored a huge container of Temptations for $2.48 at Target because it was holiday themed. I got some cheap cards and wrapping paper at other stores too.

10. Emmy- she cracks us up with her hoarding. Every night, she adds to her collection- last night she swiped a stuffed elf off a shelf on the entertainment center.

  1. The memory box and book are precious. What wonderful gifts. It looks like you are dealing with cold the way we are. I can’t wait till it’s over. I really cannot stand it.

Emmy is so cute and funny with her hoarding! Might as well store some stuff before the others grab them.

I hope your mom feels better!

  2. Oh gosh… hope your Mom gets rid of that cold. Hope she feels better pronto! I love what you are going to do with the memory box… ♥ One of the perks of our living rural is very little traffic. I enjoyed your thankfuls very much this morning.

  3. What beautiful and thoughtful gifts!
Our late cat Katie was a hoarder like Emmy. I collected beanie babies at the time, and she was always stealing them! She also loved to steal and chew on loose photographs. Katie was black and white too. 🙂

    1. That is funny that Katie was a tuxie hoarder too, I know of another Katie tuxie that is too 🙂

  4. How funny that Emmy steals things that way! Mine will turn something that hits the floor into a toy, but that’s about it.

That memory box and book are beautiful, it’s great to have creative friends.

How nice that your niece had time off to spend with everyone!

Praying your mother gets over her cold soon.

  5. The book and memory box are so beautiful!

You’re very fortunate about traffic! I lived in California for 40 years and just spent 10 days there. We had our share of traffic while there.

That is so cute about Emmy’s hoarding.

  6. A really great list of things to be thankful for. Emmy is so cute with her hoarding – our cocker spaniel has a thing for socks, and we have to always check her bed for them if ours are missing.
    Have a lovely day.

  7. I love your gifts from your furriends. What a lobar of love for you. XXXX And Emmy, yer a riot. I love hoarding kitties! I’m one myself. XXX

  8. What stunning art Toby’s mom created. They are beyond beautiful, and what a perfect tribute to your angels. I also greatly enjoyed reading your Thankfuls, as always. One of my goals in 2018, inspired by your Thankfuls, is to begin keeping a journal of my own Thankfuls, and I hope to start partaking in Ten Things of Thankful. Have a beautiful day!

  10. Sabina is very creative. Such thoughtful gifts for you too.
Your cat being a hoarder made me laugh.
I hope that your Mom gets well soon. The flu seems to be unrelenting this season.
Thermal underwear is definitely a blessing.
Venturing out during the holidays and having to endure traffic jams is not my favorite thing to do. I’m always grateful when I make it safely to and from my destinations, but especially during high traffic times.

  11. 3 Traffic jams in 25 years??? OMC Mommy’s kitty Shad started stealin’ and hordin’ money after mommy’s accident. She tried to only steal bills, and the bigger the better. MOL Big hugs

    Luv ya’
