Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! Today we are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and Ten Things of Thankful.

This week, some of my thankfuls will be Christmas decorations. My first one will also count for my art this week. It is not my work, but my friend’s who is an amazing graphic designer ( and designed my logo and blog header). If you need any graphics done, click here.

  1.  Isn’t this a cute snowman and kitty?
  2. My friend, Heather who passed away at age 46 ( 12 years ago) gave me these snowmen so they are very special.
  3. A wreath with a kitty that looks like Millie.
  4. The hubby’s Star Trek tree which is now more of a Scifi tree complete with Dr. Who ornaments and a Lost in Space robot. The Spock ears were my idea 🙂
  5. My nip knots came out nice, I made 24 to give out to people who come to my house for their cats. I got the instructions from Summer’s blog. Click here
  6. Thankful that my Sammy got through his dental, I always worry when anyone is under anesthesia. Sammy got a nip knot from the tooth fairy.
  7. I am done shopping, but I am going  today with my mom and niece for fun.
  8. When I told my 2 yr old great-niece we were going shopping and she was going to stay home with Daddy, she said “want to go shopping with the ladies.”  I thought that was so adorable, already a shopaholic 🙂  ( She has an ear infection or she would be going).
  9. Librarian set aside a book about cats for me this week that I had not heard of before. It is nice to be known around town as a cat lover 🙂
  10. One of my friends came over to visit last Sunday. She had just finished shoveling and was going to make coffee, but came to me because she knew I would have coffee ready. I always have coffee available from 7AM to 10 PM.

  1. What great “thankfuls”! Love Mr. David’s sci-fi tree……and especially the Spock ears! We see a lot of wonderful decorations at your house – looks like a Christmas store with beautiful things everywhere. Mom and I hope you have a really fabulous holiday – with all the love in your house I’m SURE you will!

Hugs, Teddy Bean and Mom too

  2. It’s also lovely that you are known around your area as a friendly person, always ready to have a cup of coffee with others. Happy Saturday!

      1. I’d join you in a heartbeat! Every day till you threw me out. Or didn’t answer the door. 🙂

  3. We love the kitty in the wreath. That is just too cute. We also like the hubby’s Star Trek tree. That is just great. You all have a wonderful week end.

  4. Love all your decorations! The kitty wreath is adorable. Enjoy your shopping… I heard it was the busiest shopping day of the season. We will venture out today and see how it goes!

    1. Thank you. I think it was the busiest shopping day, lots of lines. I waited in the line while my niece shopped in some stores.

  5. Love your decorations. Our mom says that shopping is not her idea of fun. She absolutely loves the Millie wreath. She was going to make some nip knots too but just hasn’t gotten to it yet. Lots of good things for which to be thankful. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  6. I am thankful for your posts as I start my day off happy. I like your sci-fi tree and the ears at the top… was that a Santa Clause on there too ? I guess everybody needs at least one Santa Claus ha ha Merry Christmas 🙂

    1. Thank you, you are very sweet. I have a Santa on the cupboard near the tree, but not on the tree 🙂

  7. I’m glad you have your shopping all done. It’s a good feeling.

Being known and the cat lady is a good thing. I wouldn’t mind one bit and I know you don’t either.

Have a fabulous weekend filled with thankfulness. ♥

  8. I love all of your pictures and ornaments. I particularly like the sci fi tree with the Dr Who and other sci fi ornaments on it.

  9. So many Christmas decorations have lovely memories attached to them, and that is one of my favorite parts of getting them out each year – bringing those memories back again.
I have a snowman like yours in #2! Mine has a blue hat and scarf, and my sister gave it to me. It’s one of my favorites. It’s so sad that you lost your friend at such a young age, but so nice to have that keepsake from her.

  10. The #1 is really nice. This others too, but it’s my favorite.
Your christmas tree is … amazing. The Spock’s ears are a great idea. I use to be a sci-fi addict. Now I am more in “heroic fantasy”. But I am and will be forever a Star Treck fan !
    Have a nice Christmas Holidays.
    Bonne soirée

  11. I always love your list of Ten Things of Thankful. I hope you enjoyed your shopping trip. I love to shop with friends or family (it’s very rare that I get that chance). I don’t really like to shop by myself. What I really need is friends, aside from social media, that are cat lovers.

  12. I love all your beautiful decorations, but the kitty in the wreath is my favorite !

  13. A WHOLE tree dedicated to Sci-Fi! Mom would be so happy to see it!
And being known as a cat lady .. that is a good thing! Love your snowmen and your wreath!
We are especially happy to know that Sammy is doing OK and Diva Grand Nieces are the best!

  14. Your Christmas decorations are beautiful. I love the kitty wreath! That is adorable. And the snowmen from your friend who passes away…*sniff*…indeed very special.

You have a lot to be thankful for. And so do your kitties. They are really loved and very well taken care of.

  15. Those were 10 wonderful things. The wreath is pawsome! I got a gift today from you but TW hasn’t had time to open if for me. After Summer published that years ago, TW actually bought some material to make them for me and my furrends but never did.

    1. Thank you. I am glad the gift arrived, it is just a little something for you and for TW too. Maybe you can shame her into making them for you.

  16. You’re done Christmas shopping!! I haven’t even started. I’m listening to Christmas music, enjoying the decorations, but in total denial when it comes to shopping!

  17. I love your Christmas decorations! The wreath with kitty is adorable 🙂 Very Happy Sammy’s dental is over and how lovely tooth fairy visited him 🙂

  18. I am so sorry I am visiting so late! I always look forward to reading your Thankfuls. I just love the art your friend creates. I am going to have to get myself some of her work. And that kitty wreath is one of the cutest Christmas decorations I have ever seen! And we knew Sammy would get something from the tooth fairy! Purrs!

  19. Excellent decorationing! (Loved the tree)… amazing the thing talented people are able to being into the world with just everyday things like pencils and paints and such.
    Sounds like a good week.

  20. Back a while ago, Hallmark came out with Star Trek Christmas ornaments. They did that several years and the demand was very high. One had to get to the store like when they cracked open the doors and then, you’d still have a line to wait in after you knocked everyone down getting to where the ornaments were. We are a total Star Trek family. The boys like Dr. Who or they used to. Don’t know now. They like Star Wars…I never got into it. Strictly Trekkie; that’s me. I have the ornaments still.

    1. We are not Star Wars fan, only Star Trek and Dr. Who. They started the Star Trek in the early 1990’s and David has a lot of them, but they issue so many every year that it is impossible to get them all ( actually, too expensive).

  21. Mom said that since this post is about thankful, I should tell you how much I like the turkey leg toy you sent me. I keep it by the dinner table so I can always find it. Thank you. Snoops
