Selfie Sunday

Hi everyone! Check out all this hay! I forgot how much I love hay. I used to steal it from the rabbits when we had them.

Mom locked Dad out of the house at 11 PM the other night. No, they weren’t fighting, mom just isn’t too bright. Dad had gone out to get a breath of air and bring the flag inside, but mom thought he was in the bathroom. She went in the kitchen and noticed the porch light on and the door unlocked and thought he had forgotten them so she shut the light off and locked up. Then the doorbell rang and she got scared wondering who would be at the door at that hour-MOL!

She was supposed to be decluttering today, but she ended up at a tag sale. She was all proud that she got a telescope for Dad for $3 until she got it home and he pointed out that it was missing an eyepiece. I really think I should write a book about all the stupid things she does.

I got to see Grammie on Thursday, I love her so very much. She got to see me walking on my harness.

Millie and Penny want to do selfies today so here they are:

We are joining The Cat on my Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop and The Pet Blogger Showcase.

  2. Phoebe, that made us MOL about your mom locking your dad out of the house. Our mom has accidentally locked our dad out before, too. But it wasn’t at 11 pm at night (thankfully). πŸ™‚

  3. Your mom sounds a lot like me. πŸ™‚ Such beautiful photos. My Parker seems to be perking up a bit finally, although he still doesn’t have much of an appetite. I worry about him so much.

I hope you have a great week!

    1. I hope Parker starts eating more. Ask the vet for an appetite stimulant, but not mirtazapine, that makes kitties act strange.

  4. My Momma does all kinds of stupid things too! How embarrassing! As long as they maintain our blogs, we’ll keep them around, right? Thank you for linking up to the Showcase! We love you, Phoebe πŸ™‚

  5. Oh, Dear. Sometimes petcretary says she fits into the ‘ninny class’ too…Our Oma locked herself and Opa out of the house many years ago. They had to get a ladder and break the upstairs window to gain access to their own place…but even better was the time petcretary left the keys in Opa’s front door…which they found when they all came back from Church a couple hours later…and um…the house was attached to the business that Opa had, which was a jewellery store…Oopsie. At least nothing happened…and Opa nevfur found out!! MOL!

  6. Thanks for the good laugh this morning. Too funny about him getting locked out of the house. But he didn’t think it was funny. Good to see you Phoebe in your harness. Have a great day.

  7. Uoh…….I hope Dad gave your Mom a hug instead of a lecture about locking him out! STUFF HAPPENS…….she didn’t know he was OUT instead of IN! I’m glad your Grammie visited and saw your adorable harness and you playing in the hay Phoebe. Hope you’re feeling good too.

    Hugs, Teddy

  8. Phoebe, having been in the same position as your Dad…I know what that feels like!
You look adorable in your harness, and it’s great that your Grammie got to see you outside too.
    Penny and Millie are cuties!
I’ve purchased stuff at resale shops or garage sales (that’s what we call them in Michigan) that were cracked, stained, etc. I chaulk it up to ‘live and learn’, and I don’t let The Hubby know…hehehe

  9. Phoebe, I love hay too… the smell of it! Laughing at your Mom locking your Dad out of the house. We do some crazy goofy things like that at our house. Happy you got to see your Grammie! Millie and Penny did great selfies and yours was great, too!

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚ Mom always says she is allergic to the smell of hay- she sings it like a song and says she adores a penthouse view, Darling I love you give me Park Avenue- she is odd.

  10. Well, as I say, better safe than sorry especially if there is food and treats around. Oh my that sounds like yours is as bad as mine when it comes to buying half what they should. Mine bought an old sofa and it only had one side and half a back! Fortunately we were short on firewood so I got rid of it quite easily.

  11. Now what were you doing stealing hay? ~grin~ You should go easy on your mom. ~nods~ I locked myself out a week ago after Jezebel snuck outside. I hope there’s a chance of finding an eyepiece for the telescope.

  12. Phoebe, we would love to read that book. Our mom turns the lights out whenever she leaves a room, even if Dad is in there. He gets especially annoyed when it is the bathroom. He never turns the light out so that’s why she does it. Mom says if she was at your house when your dad rung the door bell she would have been ROTFLHAO. You do look quite adorable in your harness. Thanks too all of you for hopping along with us. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

  13. That is a very pretty harness Phoebe and you model it so well. MOL that is funny about Mom locking Dad out. Hee Hee. Be a bit easy on her. Our Dad has a bit of the “Gettin Older Sillies” too.
Love the selfies Millie, Penny, very purrty

  14. Ha ha! Years ago our Mommy locked guests out when they went out to use the spa. She fell asleep and didn’t hear them knocking on the door. They were not amused.
You look so pretty on your harness and in your fancy frock.

  15. We think your house sounds so very fun and entertaining! Phoebe, you look so regal up there on your hay. And what adorable sleepy selfies, Penny and Millie! Purrs and happy Sunday to all of you!

  16. Your mom is fun. We all do silly things and I think she’s fun. I’ve done the locking out of hubby too. It can happen.

Have a purrfect Selfie Sunday. My best to your fun mom. ☺

  17. I’m glad you’re enjoying the hay bale adventure. We tried having a rabbit, but Dad is allergic to grasses and we couldn’t have hay in the house.

  18. The best way to get rid of stuff is, of course, to quit bringing it in. It is hard to do that.

    Lovely selfies!

  19. That is too funny! I locked my dad out of the house once because I’m so quick to lock doors behind me. Luckily it was summer and he had to yell in the screened bathroom window to ask if he could come in LOL

  20. What a cute pink nose you have, Penny. Nice selfies today. Don’t feel bad, Ellen. We all have those days. Most of us don’t put them in our blogs!

  21. Tell your mom that decluttering means she avoids tag sales. My mom is decluttering too. Has garage full of stuff that needs to find another home. Hmmm… I’ll send you my address. Maybe your mom can come take some of this stuff off our paws.

    1. Sorry, we have too much already πŸ™‚ We do put stuff out for free quite often and people snatch it right up.

    1. Thanks, I wish. We called the company and it is an older model so no parts available and I couldn’t find any on ebay.

  22. Oh gosh, I laughed at this. I really laughed, because I have locked my husband out too, only to have him knock on the door. Thank goodness he got me before I got into bed!

  23. […] Selfie Sunday by Ellen Pilch at 15 And Meowing: Boy did I laugh at this one. Sometimes we have silly conversations in my house, and when we do, I like to post them on Facebook.Β  (I know, it’s a good thing Hubby doesn’t have Facebook or read this blog!) Sometimes silly things happen too, but unless they involve the dogs, I don’t post about. BUT, if the dogs got their way, or wrote this blog, I’m sure they’d out me, just like the kitty outed her Mama on this post. FYI, I did the same thing to Hubby that the Kitty Mama did to the Kitty Daddy. That’s all I’m going to tell you, go read it yourself. ? […]
