Phoebe’s Selfie Sunday

Hi everyone! As you can see, I am writing today so Spooky is holding on ( knock on wood, 3 times). Mom decided to syringe feed him the Gerber’s baby food- thanks to all who recommended the baby food and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader for recommending using the syringe with it.  She didn’t want to force feed him, but he doesn’t spit it out or move away so he must not mind. He had about 1/2 of the jar over the course of the day. He is taking the cerenia for nausea so hopefully it is helping.

 

 

 

Mom read that it takes at least a week for that anemia injection to work and it has only been a few days so she is going to keep feeding him like this. Please keep praying, he is very frail and thin, but if he doesn’t want to give up, we won’t either.

I saw my Grammie Thursday, I love her so very much. She brought us a big bag of treats with the hope Spooky would want some, but he didn’t . I hope I get to see her this week, but she is so busy with her GREAT granddaughter that I am forgotten- phooey!

The winner of our Passsover giveaway is My Purrince, well actually it is the dog, Noodle from The Adventures of Noodle. Now that we can only offer giveaways in the US because every country has different rules and we don’t know them all, my Purrince entered his buddy Noodle’s name because he lives with cats too. I hope Noodle can at least wear the kippa because I don’t think he will like the catnip stuff.

  10. Phoebe, I’m sure your Grammy still loves you. That little human child won’t be tiny forever – but you will always be you. We are continuing our prayers for Spooky and trusting he will receive blessings and healing – in what ever form it takes. Blessings and pawkisses to my beloved Penny!

  15. Phoebe, I think your selfie is cute! I sure hope Spooky will start to feel better and eat more. I commend your mom for force feeding and hopefully it won’t have to be for much longer. It’s a shame he didn’t want the treats. We are seriously hoping the best for Spooky.

  27. That aniti-nausea stuff can be like heaven in keeping food down. We tried the baby food once and it was much easier to digest. Loving meows to you, Spooky, hang in there!

  40. It’s encouraging that Spooky ate some of the baby food. Purrs that he will turn the corner and start feeling better.

  42. We never want to force feed, but sometimes it is necessary. Usually, it will get them going, and it is a temporary solution. I am so glad to hear that it is helping. We love Spooky. And all of you. XOXO

  47. Phoebe, so much sad news now that we know Spooky had to move on to the RB and just finding out that your sweet Purrince is going back to the farm. We love our kitty friends and this wonderful community so much, but sometimes the sadness is just too much. You all are in our purrs and prayers as you navigate this very difficult time.
