Penny’s Tips Volume 77

Hi everyone. Before we get started, we want to give our condolences to The Canadian Cats on the loss of sweet Budd. To visit his sad family, click here.

I found a perfect way to distract Rosie. Mom had an old tablet she can’t load new things on, but it still had a cat game on it so Rosie can chase mice and make them squeak.

Now on to my tips. I am feeling crafty so I am going to show you how to make an easy, but elegant gift.

You will need a crafty block which is a glass block that has a hole in it to add lights. Mom gets hers from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby, but only with a coupon or on sale. It should cost about $6. Then you need some spray frost, a small set of lights and some wired ribbon.

Mom makes these for Christmas, but she makes them early because you can’t spray paint around here when it gets cold outside.

Once it has been sprayed, you add the lights then wrap ribbon around it like a gift.

Be careful with the ribbon, it can be tricky.

And that is all you have to do to make a beautiful, easy and inexpensive gift.

If you want to be really clever, you can cut the ribbon underneath the box and add velcro then the ribbon can be changed for other holidays. See you next week.

  1. Fantastic tip Penny, lighting arrangements make good gifts! It’s also good that Rosie has a cat game she likes to keep her busy! That’s very sad about Budd. Y’all have a good week, XO

  2. What a wonderful tip Penny! Rosie mom lets us play a fish game on her tablet. We’ve been really sad about the loss of Budd and mom thinks we need a page on our blog to remember all our lost friends.

  5. So sad about Budd.
Penny that is a darling idea. I love festive lights anytime of the year. It would be fun to set them out at the top of the kitchen cabinets and have happy lights whenever I feel like it. Right now I have perfect place I am thinking of for your idea!

  6. Penny, I think you outdid yourself! Mom mentioned to me that wired ribbon is like an IQ test she fails every time. HaHaMeow!
