Penny’s Tips Volume 65

Hi everyone!  I am back. Did you miss me? Mom wouldn’t let me do my tips during April because of The A-Z Blogging Challenge.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

My tip today is for all you kitties that need blood work. Mom took me to the vet Monday for my rabies vaccine and she decided I should have some blood work because I am around 10 years old. I am so mad at my mom and Grammie

( she was there too with her kitty). Mom and Grammie both had on masks , I am sure it was to make me think it wasn’t them. Neither one tried to stop the vampires from taking my blood so I had to save myself. I fought like crazy and got away. I hid under the bench. Then the vet tech put on welding gloves and tried again. And I escaped once again so mom finally spoke up and said it could wait. So my advice to you is to fight like crazy, use claws if needed. That is the only way to save your precious blood. I still can’t believe my Grammie betrayed me.

A lot of states are opening up restaurants and stores. Please try to keep your human inside- they are not safe until there is a cure or a vaccine.

  1. Franklin likes your tip today Penny, and he thinks he can use it any time the word “vet” comes up . . . He also agrees with keeping humans inside for their own safety until the cure and/or vaccine is found.

  2. I don’t have a vet checkup until August, and I imagine I’ll have bloodwork. Plus I’m due for my rabies vaccine.

  3. I am not sure that is a good tip because you will still have to go back and have it done, Penny.
I think it is far too soon to start opening things up and I won’t be venturing out until I think it is safe.

    1. I do have to go back on June 1st, but I get the first apt. of the day. XO

  4. Penny, I did miss you! Wow, that is quite a tip. Maybe I will try that at my next blood test… well, maybe not. We are opened up here in Florida pretty much and we will be staying home until we truly feel safe. It would be nice to get a hair cut but our governor did not open salons!!!

  5. We do not like going to the Vet, but we are pretty quiet when we get there.
We do not cause any trouble and the Vet is quite calm and friendly and nice.
We still don’t like to go though, but we love coming home and we love having mum at home too!!!
We think she likes being with us too 😉

  6. Oh no Pennie this is surely cause for demerits….
I am still wearing my masks; however, yesterday I learned they are going to be very
hot during our summer in Dixie

  7. Penny, i know it isn’t fun, but taking blood causes a tiny bit of pain that can save you from a lot of worse pain later.

As for restaurants, they are only allowing outdoor seating here, and only at a few tables at a time far from each other. It’s going to be a long time before we have dining in a restaurant again.

  8. Penny, remember your Mom loves you and that’s why you need to cooperate!

Mom isn’t planning on going to any restaurants in the near future.

    Happy Cinco de Mayo!

  9. Penny, you rock the sombrero!
And I think you and Sweetie took wriggling lessons from the same purrson!

  10. I’ve never had a kitty that like car rides or going to the vet. They are a bunch of vampires for sure.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. My best to all the kitties and your mom. ♥

  11. penny; sinz de last time we comminted waz bak on april 19, 1995 we wanna say we hope ewe de crew mom dad grammie de grate one N de smaller grate one iz all happee healthee N doo in soooper grate…we all sew hope R commint postz on yur new web page which iz awesum bye de way… 🙂 ♥♥

  12. I don’t like those car rides either sweet Penny, but that’s a good tip!

  13. Oh, Penny. You look adorable in your hat. But I wish you’d let the vet take your blood. Stay healthy, beautiful. I missed you, too, by the way. 🙂

  14. Penny, I’ll pass that tip along to Teddy. He doesn’t like blood tests either. Thanks for the tips on staying inside. We don’t have much open yet here except grocery stores, but even when they start reopening the city, it will be a long time before I feel comfortable going anywhere. Take care.

  15. We are sorry that you went through that. However, we agree that all kitties need regular vet checks. Has your mom looked into giving you a light sedative before an appointment? We give Benny 100 mg of Gabapentin because he would get very stressed, and with his age and a heart condition, we couldn’t risk his health. It helps a lot.

    1. That is a high dose. Mom is going to give me 50 mg when I go back June 1st. Our vet thinks 100 is too much for any cat.

  16. That is a sweet photo! I don’t think any of us like a blood draw unless we are vampires hee hee hee! You take care and if you need to check on your good health don’t be scared. CLose those pretty eyes and breathe! HUGS

  17. Ooohhh, Penny you are a terror! MOL!

Love your Cinco de Mayo hat!

  18. Our vet is still operating as a concierge service. Timber had to go a week or so ago. There was going to be a long wait for Mom, so they told her to go home and they would call her. It all worked out well.

We hope all your blood work results are good.

    Woos, Lightning and Timber

  19. Penny, you look way too sad to be celebrating! Time for some good old fashioned revenge!

  20. Poor baby! It’s for your own good though. Mudpie is overdue for a checkup, rabies vaccine, and I’ll probably get her first bloodwork done too, but not until I can go in with her. Unfortunately I don’t think a cure or vaccine is within sight and we’re just going to have to restart our lives as safely as we possibly can.

  21. Penny that was a great tip about fighting off the vampires! That’s what I feel like when the vampires want to take blood from my tiny little veins! LOL! 😀 And you are right about humans staying home because every time some place trys to re-open the virus starts to spread again! When will these foolish humans learn life is of more value than money! Thanks so much for your wisdom Penny! 🙂 <3

  22. Good job Penny, getting away from the vet. We are always too scared to try anything. Have a good day.

  23. Penny,

Vampires, oh my! I met one of those blood suckers last week. Usually I say something about the difficulties other vampires have with getting blood and forgot. It ouched a bit but I didn’t bruise badly and survived it. For a split second I thought I’d hyperventilate because the needled pinched a lot making uncomfortable.

I think Covid-19 is with us for the rest of our natural lives. If humans are mindful, very mindful to respect people’s personal space, avoid cough/sneezes, frequent hand washings, stay home when sick, and mask/glove up then everyone will be a.okay in my opinion. The common cold/flu wreck more havoc each year than this virus. These illness have no cure and the vaccine is a gamble.

Take care and be well, furriends!

    1. I think this is twice as contagious which is the big problem. We are going to need to social distance for a long time. Stay healthy. XO

  24. It’s good to see you back, Penny. I love your Cinco de Mayo hat! Stay inside and stay safe.

  25. I couldn’t help but smile with this story! Such a feisty ball of fur! SO cute. But it is for your own good, so I suspect mom is going to take you in again 🙂

  26. Are you sure that was your Mom and Grammie? We can’t believe they would do that to you. 🙂

  27. Penny, Eddy agrees 100% with your tip today. With Eddy, though, she puts up a fight just getting in the carrier at home. Even with carriers being left out all the time at our house, if Eddy thinks for half a second she’s going to be put into one, she will make this mom of hers bleed. A lady cat’s gotta do what a lady cat’s gotta do!

  28. Charlee: “Poor Penny! That sounds like No. Fun. At. All.”
Chaplin (taking notes): “Fight like crazy … use claws … front and back …”
Charlee: “Funny how the humans are always making us get vaccines but they haven’t got one for themselves now that they really need one.”
Chaplin: “Maybe they need to spend a little time working on that before they try stealing any more blood from us animals, eh, Penny?”
