Hi everyone! If you follow my tip today, you won’t need to have a fly swatter anymore.
Just take a ziplock bag and add water and at least 4 pennies ( not me). Then you hang it above your door. Something about the flies complex eyes makes them move away because it magnifies the light entering their eyes. Too bad it doesn’t work on nasty mosquitoes.
We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Thanks for sharing. Will have to give it a try.
You’re welcome. 🙂

We haven’t done it, but know people that have and it worked. Not sure what to do with gnats. XO
WOW! Brilliant! I’ve never heard of that – pennies come in handy (you come in handy too but not for keeping flies away of course!!!!!).
Hugs, Teddy
Thank you 🙂 XO
Now Penny, that is sure different! XX
Thank you 🙂 XO
Pennies are so useful sweet Penny!
Especially me right? 🙂
Wow! I must try this. Thanks for the tip, Penny!
You’re welcome 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome.
I’ve heard of this tip before and it works. Funny how that happens.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. My best to your mom. ♥
Thank you 🙂 Mom sends her best. XO
Penny now that is clever…keep looking for a ‘skeeter deterrent.
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you 🙂 I will. XO
Does this really work? It’s an interesting idea.
We haven’t done it, but we know people who have and it worked for them.
What an unusual idea, Penny!
Thank you 🙂
My human heard about this trick just recently. We will have to remember it next time there are too many flies around – fortunately there haven’t been as many lately.
We haven’t had any lately either.
interesting tip! Might have to give this a try! But then again, Cody is our resident fly killer, so maybe I don’t have to MOL
Thank you 🙂 You are lucky, the cats here won’t go near one.
That is a really interesting Tip Penny and we will give it a try when the flies come back. They have stayed away so far
Thank you 🙂
I never heard of this but it’s a great tip.
Thank you 🙂
Are you serious?!!!
Yes. 🙂
Wonderful! Every year we are invaded by flies, usually in August, so this tip came just in time.
Thank you 🙂
This really is a great idea. And I already know it works!
Thank you 🙂
That is very interesting. Wonder if it works on gnats – they are so annoying here at this time of the year.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I am not sure if it would work on them.
I’ve always wondered why that worked! Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome 🙂
We have had a lot of flies this summer so I will have to try it. I would think UK pennies would work the same.
Yes, they should work. XO
i hate flies in the house!! i am trying that tip right now!!!
We don’t like them either, but we have been lucky lately at not seeing any.
Sweet kitty photos and great tip about keeping flies away ~ will try it ~ ^_^
Happy Day to You,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
Thank you 🙂 We hope you had a happy day too!
That is so interesting! We do wish it worked for those nasty mosquitoes too though!
Thank you 🙂 If we could find a way to keep them away, we would be rich.
This is such an interesting tip!
Thank you 🙂
Wow, what an interesting tip. We’ll have to remember this if we have flies in the house.
Thank you 🙂
Wow, that’s amazing! Never heard of that before but definitely worth trying.
Thank you 🙂
This sounds very interesting. Mom would love to get rid of the flies, but we like swatting and killing them, and sometimes we have them for a snack. YUMMY! XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
We don’t like fly hunting. XO
That’s a fantastic tip, Penny! We don’t have so much flies in the house, only sometimes when the wind blows them in and then Granny leads them the way out again, which they do, but we sure will remember this when needed. Extra Pawkisses to all of you🐾😽💞
Thank you 🙂 XO
Well, Penny that is an interesting tip. We sure could have used that back in old Missouri. I don’t know why but we don’t have any flies here. Plenty of other annoying critters like ants. Maybe the lizards eat the flies. I will have to tell our Missouri peeps about your tip!
Thank you 🙂 We have been lucky this year with no flies. xo
That sure is a cool idea! Hope to try that with a *strong* baggie!!
Thank you 🙂
Penny, what would I do without your tips? It seems like a fly gets in my house on a daily basis, and the furbabies go crazy chasing it around. I need to try this penny trick. Perhaps that will help my house stay standing. Purrs!
Thank you 🙂 My cats won’t chase flies.
Very good tip! But yes, too bad about the mosquitos.
Thank you 🙂
