Hi everyone. I am so mad at my mom. I was inside this donut the other day.

Clearly, I was sabotaged because it was near the edge of the bed so when I moved, it fell off the bed and started rolling. Mom started laughing and singing, “On top of spaghetti all covered with cheese, I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed. It rolled off the table and onto the floor……I did not find that funny at all.

I know you all want to know about Penny.  She has an autoimmune condition that causes sores on her skin and sometimes they get infected. She has had this for the whole 14 years she has been here, but never as bad as it has been over the past year. Last week, a couple sores were so bad that you could smell the infection, so she had to go to the vet for another antibiotic shot and steroid shot. She is also on Gabapentin for pain. The vet said it has been shown to help some skin issues too so paws crossed it will help. Mom asked for a stronger skin antibiotic, but the side effects were too bad. Then she asked for an immunosuppressant, the side effects on that are bad too, especially for older cats so we are stuck with what we do. She also gets an antibiotic cream on the sores too. All purrs and prayers are greatly appreciated.

In better news, Brody’s friend, Precious sent him a crocheted egg that her mom made. He loves it- and so does everyone else.

Mom and Grammie will be with the kids all day Friday. They want an escape room instead if an egg hunt, so Mom is busy finding Easter themed puzzles for that.

Well, that is all I have for this week. Penny will be here next week with her money saving tips unless she decides to take a week off because she is mad at Mom for all the trips to the vet. I’ll be sure to have some gossip ready just in case.

  2. Oh, your sweet suffering kitty, we are so, so sorry for her pain and problems. Sometimes, in great pain………..
    Love the spaghetti song! Your mama would fit right into our funny singing household! Mama makes up songs for all sort of dumb things. ‘Dumb’ is a compliment in our lingo, haha. Your mama makes great dumb songs!!!!!

  3. Poor Rosey being laughed at! I remember that song from my childhood. I usually have a good memory for names and numbers but can’t remember the singer’s name. Tom somebody I think.
    I am sorry that Penny has an autoimmune condition and wish they could do something that would really help her.
    The crochet ball was a nice gift for Brodie from Lynn and Precious.

  4. We’re sending sweet Penny lots of BIG boxes full of HUGS and HOPE that she will have some relief from her meds…..it has to be so uncomfortable for her yet she’s a sweetie pie no matter what. We are SO HAPPY to hear the new book has been published! Hope it’s a best seller…..we just so happen to know it’s a FABULOUS book and hope everybody orders a copy.

  5. Rosie that is a lot of news to hear about sweet Penny. We certainly hope that are sores can somehow be subdued for longer periods of time. Sorry about the meatball incident, lol. Precious said she loves seeing the picture of Brody with the egg.

  10. Oh Rosie. That was so not nice of your mommy and this isn’t smile I have on here…it’s um….well, it’s just me exercising my lips! Yeah. Loved my Easter egg from Precious too. Smelled like her! too and still do! I sent a video of me playing with it.
    Penny darling beautiful girl…I am so sorry you re going through all of that. ALL our love here in my house to you. Please start to get better. XXXX

  18. Rosie, that was a quirky thing to have happened with the donut. I am sorry but I would have laughed too. You probably were sabotaged by someBODY. Prayers coming to Penny… lots of them. I knew she had a skin condition but I am so sorry she has pain and infection with it. I hope the meds help with all the issues and good to hear she has a pain med.
    Great news on Joanie’s book hitting the shelves! I know it is a wonderful book with adorable illustrations!

  21. Well, you were just like a rollin’ donut. ~snicker~ Sorry. That’s an obscure saying from my childhood. When you mentioned an escape room I presumed plans were to visit one of those popular business ventures. But your mom is making one? She is so talented!

    We use Hypercal tincture for that kind of skin, with good results, it’s a mix of Calendula (for the wounds and Hypericum (for the pain), so maybe you want to consider it, when the treatment doesn’t work.
    Rosie, we’re sorry, but we had to MOL as we could picture the scene very well😹
