Penny’s Tips Volume 25

HI everyone! I will let Penny give her tip in a minute. Today is the one year anniversary of Phoebe leaving us. We miss her every day, the house just isn’t the same without her. Her little harness dress still hangs on the hook by the door like Tiny Tim’s crutch.

I have been saving this story for today. Last year, when I kept bringing Phoebe to the vet for fluids and checkups, her vet was expecting a baby. Guess what she named her daughter? When I was there a few months ago she told me that when I kept coming in with Phoebe it struck her that should be her baby’s name.

Now time for Penny’s tip-

Hi everyone! Mom paid me in silvervine so excuse my pose, she caught me rolling in it.

My tip is if you don’t have a ruler, you can use pennies to measure. There are 16 pennies in one foot ( each one has a diameter of .75″ ).

Do you like Mom’s ruler? It is a Peanuts one that she has had since she was a kid.

Tomorrow we will be participating in Madi’s Come Laugh With Us Blog Hop.

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Don’t forget you have until 9 PM (EST) Tuesday to enter to win a copy of Prancie’s Prayer. Rules are on Sunday’s post.

Thank you to all who have helped promote by sharing, purchasing, reviewing and for all your kind comments of support.

  1. So that’s quite a story about the vet’s baby! We think there might be a tiny little piece of Miss Phoebe’s spirit in that little girl!

Penny, if you get PAID for your tips, I think I am going to try to come up with some myself. DO you get paid before or after, I wonder??

    1. Thank you for your kind words. Yes, Penny insists on treats and silvervine for payment- it would probably be cheaper to give her cash 🙂

  2. So many interesting things today. It’s sweet that your vet’s daughter shares Phoebe’s name. 16 pennies in a foot….now I know! And it’s wonderful that your Mom has a ruler from when she was a child. She must be very careful with her belongings.

  3. How pawsome that the Vet named her daughter after Phoebe 🙂
We really like your tip today too Penny!!!
Mum still has a jar of pennies even though we do not use or make them anymore in Canada.

  4. How cool that Phoebe’s memory lives on with your vet’s daughter. Penny, I had no idea that pennies could be used to measure!

  5. What a sweet story about the vet’s baby being named after your Phoebe. The 28th of this month will be one year since we lost Buddy. We’ve lost too many. That hurts, doesn’t it!

  6. Isn’t that sweet Phoebe’s vet named her baby after her!

Great tip, Penny, that is certainly something we didn’t know. I wish I still had a Peanuts ruler! 🙂

  7. Sweet Phoebe. We all miss her *sniff* And how wonderful of your vet to name her daughter Phoebe. So heartwarming.

Penny’s tip is great! I never would have figured that one out 🙂

P.S – I also had a hard time getting onto your blog yesterday.

  8. Penny, i could not get to this blog yesterday for love or money, i kept getting the message that the server was down. It’s great to see you and i love your tip!

My condolences about Phoebe, i hope as time goes on you are remembering more happy times and fewer of the sad things at the end.

  10. Penny – I had no idea you could measure in pennies. That’s a great idea! (I can’t believe Phoebe’s been gone a year.)
