Penny’s Tips Volume 141

Hi everyone! Did you miss me?

It is almost Easter time so I have some money saving tips for you. If you have little ones and want to have an egg hunt, you should get to The Dollar Tree and Walmart. Mom found all these goodies in those 2 stores. Little crayons shaped like bunnies and rainbows, stickers, stampers and LOL balls ( for the golden eggs). Mom also uses some coins. She makes sure each color egg has the exact same thing and tells the girls they can only have one of each color that way everything is fair and no one feels bad.

Lovelyplanner blog has free printable egg hunt signs, click here.

and Paper Trail Design blog has some free printable coloring pages, click here.

I didn’t forget our Jewish friends. You can get free Passover printables at The SuperMomLife blog, click here.

We are also participating in The A-Z Blogging Challenge , today is the letter C. Mom decluttered clothes two weeks ago. Rosie has some great before photos of the closet, but mom intercepted them. And she says she is still tweaking it so no after ones yet either. She did part with 2 bags of her clothes. She moved anything that doesn’t currently fit to the upstairs spare room closet which freed up A LOT of space in the bedroom closet. If the clothes don’t fit by the end of the year then she will donate those too.

She also went through Dad’s clothes and got him to part with some. And they went through hats, gloves, scarves, coats, etc. Don’t forget those too. 🙂

And one more thing, today is a very sad anniversary. It is one year since mom’s sweet Sammy left her.

  1. Good tips, Penny, and it sounds like your Mom is making good progress on the decluttering! Hugs and purrs on the loss of Sammy. XO

  2. Has it been one year already, doesn’t seem possible. Something tells Daisy Mae & I Sammy will be with you this Easter one way or another

  3. Decluttering sounds like it’s working! That’s GREAT…….and we think all those Easter goodies will be enjoyed by The Great One and Typhoid Mary for sure. My Dad always hunts for Easter eggs but that’s about the extent of our Easter-mania. We know that the anniversary of Angel Sammy’s trip to the Bridge is a sad sad day…..Mom and Dad lost their Sammy almost 7 years ago and it still is a sad day even though Mom believes TOTALLY she will see him again one day.

    Love and Eastery Hugs, Teddy

    1. It was working until we got sick. That is fun that your dad hunts for eggs. I hope you get some. XO

  4. Dear Penny, you are showing so many great Easter decorating finds, that we think we need to come to your house for easter. Especially the egg hunt. You tell your mom to keep up the good work on sorting things out. Little by little it does help. And what a beautiful handsome angel that Sammy is all dressed for Easter too.

  5. Penny, I always love t see you. My mom purges out clothes often if AMVETS send a flyer saying they are collecting. Always a huge amount. She’s ready again. We remember when our kitties flew away too. Sammy is firmly and deeply loved and in your mom’s memory.

    1. That is a good place to donate to. We just had Hartsprings pick up from us. They are part of the Boys and Girls clubs. XO

  6. We certainly need to get rid of some clothing but this is especially difficult for me. Many of the things DH has gotten me is so pretty. You just can’t find stuff like he once could. I believe he bought all the good pieces years ago. I probably will hang on to these items until I’m old or gone. 🙂

  7. Picking one of every color egg sounds like a good way to do things! One year, for our adult egg hunt, I tried to have “theme” like each person had their own color or style …. I only did that one year. Now (remember we are all adults) we just take turns. One person picks an egg …. reads the piece of paper that will get them a prize bag or piece of candy …. or maybe a shot at the golden egg that gets passed around …. that way the crazy adults aren’t getting everything while poor disabled mother gets nothing … What is in your GOLDEN EGG?? I

    1. A theme is a great idea. The golden eggs have LOL balls- they are all the rage for little girls. They have a tiny doll and tiny accessories all individually wrapped. XO

  8. Getting Dad to part with clothing is always a chore here. YAY for Mom
My rule is if I don’t wear something during a season…rather than moving it to the other closet I move it to a donation pile.
    Hugs Cecilia

  10. Thank you for the tips, Penny, and glad to hear the decluttering is going well. Such a sweet picture of Angle Sammy.

  11. Boy I’ll bet you could have a heckofva quilt from those two bags of clothes, haha. LOVED the little animal from the very hallowed shirt….so lovely, so dear, a memory forever of a sweet woman.

  12. Penny, i do love your posts. Those are some great ideas, and with two children, two of each color egg with the same thing sounds fabulous.

I’m about to start looking through clothes. My work jeans are getting holes in the knees again, time to either find a way to patch them or buy some.

My condolences again for the loss of Sammy. Time doesn’t take away the hurt, just makes it a bit easier to live with, at least, that’s what i find. Hugs.

    1. Thank you. Holes in jeans are very popular- maybe you could sell them. XO

  13. I did miss you Penny. It’s good your back.

Love all the money saving Easter things. Fabulous.

So sorry about this sad anniversary. Healing hugs.

I missed you, Penny! You came up with some great tips for “little ones” and passed on some great links.
Whew! so much easier to part with clothes than books!
Hugs to you, Ellen and Penny!

    1. Thank you. Yes, it is easier to part with clothes than books. 🙂 XO

    1. Sammy was a sweet boy. The problem I have with clothes is I don’t like fabrics on today’s clothes so I hate to part with ones I like. 🙂

  17. Great tips, Penny! We always donate our clothes to the cat rescue in our environment😺
Soft Pawkisses for your mommy, as she remembers sweet Angel Sammy. We can’t hardly believe that time goes so fast…lump in my throat😿🐾😽💞

  18. Those are some great Easter tips. The Dollar Store is a great place to get inexpensive gifts and trinkets. Purrs as you remember sweet Sammy.

  19. Great tips! The Dollar Tree is one of my favourite stores to visit. You always find some fun things there. And sending you lots of hugs as you remember sweet Sammy. xo

    1. I feel rich in there because I can buy a lot of stuff. 🙂 Thank you. I miss my boy. XO

  20. It’s time to pull out my spring/summer clothes and put away my winter clothes, and that means doing a big purge of both! If only I could get my husband to do the same! Sending a virtual hug to your mom for Sammy. Our pets are part of our family, and it’s so hard to lose them and their unconditional love.
