Opt to Adopt Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! Tuesday is medical day and fortunately, there is no health crisis this week -knock on wood ( 3 times). Millie had his thyroid checked and is on half the amount he started with now. Polar Bear continues his antibiotics for a few more days. And Prancie and Stinky are going for rabies shots today ( Massachusetts requires one every 3 years). They will also get an exam while we are there.

Yesterday I did a guest post on Katzenworld about Prancie, thank you to all who clicked like and/or commented. If you didn’t get to see it, here is the link: http://katzenworld.co.uk/2015/01/12/guest-post-prancie-by-ellen-pilch-of-15andmeowing-com/

I have started using one of those plastic pill cases with compartments for every day of the week for Millie’s thyroid pills. I didn’t want to forget to give him his, I take thyroid meds for under active thyroid and for some reason I always have a lot of pills left at the end of the month. I guess I should get one of those cases for myself as well .

Yesterday on The Daily Abyssinian there were 2  nine yr. old kitties in need of a home together, they are in CT. Here is the link:

I pray they get to stay together. http://dogsnpawz.com/tuesdays-tails-dogs-still-waiting-to-be-adopted/#.VKvD27Du3IU

  1. Pills can be tricky. We remember TBT managing Grampas pills. Those week things help. For Grampa, they helped TBT convince Dad he had (or sometimes hadn’t) taken his.

TBT takes some, but doesn’t use the week thing (yet). Plus they not quite pills. He takes a half a multivitamin each day, lately an allergy one each day (as an experiment) and an Omega 3 one every other day. He just takes the 2 at lunch every day and the omega3 on odd-numbered days. None of them are critical. But he dreads the first time he forgets one.

  2. With a house full of cats I guess someone is always in need of something – shots or exams!!! Mom and I are also “thyroid twins”……she’s HYPO and I’m HYPER…..so maybe somewhere in the middle we meet??? HAHAHA Mom always crushes my pill FIRST THING in the morning right after she starts coffee – keeps my pill bottle by the coffee machine to remind her. That doesn’t mean I’ll cooperate and let her give it to me but at least she tries!

    Hugs, Sammy

    1. That is funny that you are thyroid twins too. I would love to switch and have the hyper instead of the hypo 🙂 That is smart to leave yours by the coffee, you should cooperate, it is good for you.

  3. Our Mama has hypothyroidism too! It took a long time for it to get regulated but she is better now! We think the pill organizer is good for a large family like yours. LP has to give Isadora meds every day and that alone keeps her on her toes! 🙂

    1. I am amazed at how many women have hypothyroidism. I really need to do better at taking my meds. Yes, our sickly kitties keep us hopping.

    1. They are still on there, I just checked. I will make sure I have the right link listed on my page-thanks for letting me know.

  4. That was a great guest post. Kitties’ ears are so delicate and can be quickly damaged by sun or cold. Being a good samaritan brought you a wonderful and grateful companion. Good job! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    1. I will get a case. That stinks that you need shots ever year when obviously they last at least 3 years. I am glad you got the box and I hope everything helps Lexi and doesn’t upset her tummy. Thanks for posting about it too-that was sweet 🙂

  7. Glad everyone is doing well. I started using those pill boxes when I would forget my meds. Never thought of using one for the furs. Thanks for a great idea
