Hi everyone. I actually was able to catch the stray cat Wednesday night. It is either a fixed male or a female. I will bring kitty to the shelter clinic Wednesday for vaccines and a FELV/FIV test.
Does anyone know if there is a FIP test?
No worries, kitty is not in a jar. Kitty is segregated in a breezeway off the garage, but safe and happy. Poor kitty was covered in ticks and probably fleas too, I already applied a topical treatment from the vet.
I have checked local animal control FB pages and craigslist for lost cats. We will also check for a microchip at the clinic. I find it hard to believe someone would dump this sweet cat, but the same thing happened to Prancie, Tallulah, Stinky, Penny and Barney.
I had been feeding kitty for at least 2 weeks and it was getting braver so I started puling the dish toward the breezeway and once inside, I shut the door. Kitty was scared, but only briefly. I have also discovered kitty loves nip and for me to pet him or her.
I have decided on the names Emmy for a girl and Oscar for a boy. I am hoping it is a girl because Sammy already has his Brody issues.
I used Imagechef for the photo, we are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop.
We are also joining #PMTphotohunt @tonkstail / I cheated and used Loonapix , I hope to see this image on a cloudy day , Snowball.
Poor baby, thank goodness for you to rescue this baby,xx Speedy
Thank you Speedy.XO
Congratulations on catching the kitty. She/he will now be safe with you. A suggestion to get rid of the fleas: Capstar. It is now available over the counter as well as vet offices. You can find it in the Walmart pet section. One tablet will kill all live fleas on your cat and only stays in the system 24 hours. If you can’t give the cat a pill in a Pill Pocket, an even easier way to give a Capstar tablet is by crushing it up thoroughly and mixing into a little bit of canned food. Fancy Feast works best for me. Within 30 minutes all live fleas will die. While it takes effect your kitty might get a little hyper and start scratching but that phase passes. It is safe and effective. I am so happy your stray kitty is now safe with you! ❤❤
Thank you for the suggestion, I am glad it is available without a vet now, but I can ask for it at the clinic too.
There’s no test for FIP – unfortunately it’s a subject we know way too much about – it’s what took our Maurice.
I am sorry about Maurice.
Poor kitty! Clearly s/he is not a feral, and had a home once. I’m glad you are there for this cat.
Thank you, I am glad I could rescue this kitty.
Definitely gorgeous coloring. We will keep our paws crossed everything goes well next week.
Thank you. XO
What a pretty kitty!
Hope it all will work out for the best. Obviously socialized in the past…and sadly either lost or dumped. Sheesh.
Thank you. XO
Love the possible names for “new kitty” ! What a lucky cat to have YOU taking care of her/him…….I hope medically it checks out and can move in with the family – “the new kid” sometimes has it tough but will adjust I’m sure. It’s a pretty kitty!! I think that cloud kitty in the last photo is wonderful – one day you will look up and Snowball will be there saying “Hi Mom!”………..
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
Thank you, I hope it checks out medically too and that it likes other cats. I hope that about the clouds too. XO
Yeah!!!!! Another kitty safe!! Whether he is reunited with his family or joins yours s/he is truly blessed. I like both names!!! Can’t wait to find out what happens. Paw kisses to Penny.
Love Toby
Thank you, I hope I get to keep him or her. Penny sends paw kisses to you too Toby. XO and love to you all!
Oh Ellen, your heart is as big as a whale! I look forward to hearing more about this kitty, now never to roam helpless again. ❤️
Thank you 🙂
He or she is lovely. Glad you’re not keeping him or her in a jar!
Thank you 🙂
That is wonderful! I’m so glad this little fluff ball ended up with you where s/he will be loved and taken care of.
Thank you, I am lucky to have rescued him or her.
Thank you for rescuing this beautiful kitty! Hoping all goes well next week!
Thank you.
Emmy/Oscar wander up to just the right door. I hope and purr you are able to get all the critters off and the tests come back negative.
Hugs madi your bfff
Thank you. XO
Oh, what a lucky kitty, to have found you, Ellen. He or she is beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
Best wishes to you all! I’m glad to know this cat has been helped. Bless you.
Thank you. XO
I think that is one lucky little kitty. WE hope everything checks out well at the Vet. Purrs … great artwork this week.
Thank you.
Awww, I’m glad you got the cat in a safe place. You’ll have him/her all fixed up in no time. Sounds like a great addition to your family.
Have a purrfect day. ☺
Thank you. I hope you had a great day too.
Ellen, you are so good to help this kitty. Interesting that she (or he) loves to be petted and is so friendly.
Thank you. I even got a purr today.
If Emmy/Oscar was dumped for some reason, s/he landed in the right place to get help. Hope all tests have good results, but am worried, since the poor dear had such an insect infestation.
Thank you, I hope all goes well.
I am so happy you got that kitty! Lucky cat. We lost our Z Cat to the wet form of FIP in 2009.
Snowball in your cloud photo… ♥
I am so sorry about Z Cat, that is an awful way to lose a kitty.
I am so happy that the kitty was lucky enough to come into your life! Fingers crossed he/she is healthy! You and your hubby are wonderful for taking the kitty in! Good luck at the vet
Thank you 🙂 I hope all goes well too so I can introduce it to my herd.
We love the names you have chosen and look forward to the results of her /his vet check-up to see which name sticks 🙂
Do you think Snowball had a paw in guiding this kitty to you? One thing we know for certain, we are really happy the kitty is now safe with you!
the critters in the cottage xo
Thank you. I have been feeding this kitty for a few weeks, but I am sure some of my angels led it to me. XO
Hope the cat is chipped so there is no sad family out there.
I would be broken-hearted though, I am already in love.
Nice art. Well done for rescuing the kitty!
Purrs xx
Athena and Marie
Thank you. XO
Wonderful news – for you and the kitty !
Especially sad if he/she was abandoned, so hopefully a happy ending in the future !
Thank you, it is so sweet, I am blessed to have found it.
And what a lovely tribute to your Snowball !
Thank you.

Thank you , you are such a sweetie. XO and now from Phoebe- thank you my sweet purrince, you are the best boyfriend ever, I am so blessed. XO and paw kisses and nose rubs too!
You are such an angel to help out so many kitties. S/he is certainly lucky to have found you.
Thank you, I am lucky too.
Great catch! I think the sweetie needs a serious flea bath from the Vet place. We had to do that when we caught Kit, she was so flea infested the poor thing chewed off part of her lower lip.
That is so sad. I used Paradyne and the ticks died and fell off already.
Oh awnty Ellen, what a cutey. Yes, there is a test fur FIP. Sis Raena got one cuz of where she came from. We don’t ‘member how much it cost, but purrobably ’bout da same as any other tests. We hope this means dat barrin’ an actual home comin’ furward, your heart has a new furry piece.? Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Thank you. It is a sweet kitty. XO
This artwork is awesome! Purrfect. I am praying that testing goes well, treatments go well, and that your family stays happy & healthy. Please let me know. Love you guys. Hugs.
Thank you, I hope testing goes well and that this kitty likes other cats. XO and love to you too!
Thank cod you caught this sweetie and now he/she will be taken care of. 🙂
It is so sweet. 🙂
Great news! Soon there will be 15 again to go meowing. I thought there was an FIP test but that it’s horribly inaccurate. I think if it likes nip, it probably once had a home.
Actually that kitty will bring us to 13 again, we had 3 losses from 9/15-4/16 then we got Brody now we lost Snowball so this will make 13. My hubby thinks 15 is too many, he is so mean.
It’s a lovely cat, and it amazes me how people can just dump their animals, but they do it all of the time.
I don’t know how people live with themselves after abandoning pets.
Poor baby looks cute in the bottle, we are glad she/he came up on your porch so they can be looked after.
Thank you. I am glad this kitty showed up too.
I love her/him already. He/she’s a lucky kitty – I know kitty couldn’t be more loved or more safe anywhere else.
Thank you, that is so sweet. XO
It seems as if Snowball has sent you a new kitty as Fiona did with us and Cooper Murphy. Please keep us posted on how this all turns out. We couldn’t imagine anyone would dump Cooper, but that is obviously what happened. We love Snowball as a fluffy cloud. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
Congrats on catching the new kitty! She/he is going to be a gorgeous kitty after some TLC. It seems like fate that you lost Snowball but gained a new kitty. We look forward to new posts on this one.
Thank you. It likes to be brushed and everything.
FIP sucks. They are making new strides almost every day, but so far a test for it is not one of them. I always recommend to people to get the kitty to a different clinic for a second opinion when facing a diagnosis of FIP, since it is a ‘last resort’ kind of diseases. Maybe vets at a different clinic will see things with fresh eyes and come to a different (and treatable) conclusion.
I hope there will be a cure someday soon.
All three of our cats were strays! Can’t wait to click on to see what happened…
Many of ours were too and they are all sweet and loving.
